The whole Onavo VPN story is huge and would have been a great counterpoint to the Nord VPN paid promotion. AppleExplained really let it’s sponsor Dow by not mentioning Onavo and comparing it to Nord VPN, unless Nord VPN is as untrustworthy as other data leaching VPNs like Onavo and dozens of other VPNs which monitor and sell your browsing habits.

You don't have to back Apple, all you need to do is you support peoples' privacy, Apple sharing the same value is just a bonus. Just be aware, new C.E.O.s change and some may not share the same value to privacy like Steve Jobs and Tim Cook.

The channel is called AppleExplained so no wonder he frames the argument against Facebook. They avoid social media like Facebook as much as they can and never post anything. Apple will simply invest a few billion on their own social media company that works exclusively on Apple in all their products. It will easily become as big as Snapchat, Wechat and Twitter purely based on their brand power and without having to compete with Facebook due to banning them from their products. Tencent in China being a outstanding example. Apple will have absolutely nothing to lose by banning Facebook if they wait till they make a good app so that they satisfy major customer demand for a alternative social media app. Don't forget that Snapchat & Twitter will support Apple massively so that they can easily grab hundreds of millions of subscribers that Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram steal from them. Then can get rid of even Whatsapp and Instagram since Zuckerberg will obviously threaten them about removing these 2 if they don't allow Facebook. They are a 2 trillion dollar company how hard would it really be to create good social media apps that can compete with the social media giants given the outstanding success they have had fighting with Microsoft in PC and Android in tablets and smartphones etc. It is Zuckerberg who will lose severely if he fights with Apple since Apple users are a massive customer base for their products.

It is an extremely one sided battle if Apple gets angry.

Also to mention the outstanding success Apple has had competiting vs Chrome with Safari and Gmail with Apple Mail.

The USP of privacy and brand power alone will easily give them more than 1 billion customers in a year.
