Hey man, it can be stressful being responsible for all those awesome animals and plants. Especially when life is being frustrating in other areas. Just know if nothing else you help relieve the stress of so many people with your creativity. Much love
Well, said! I use his video as stress relief and to help motivate me to do stuff I need to do in my fish tank. It is SO good to see, that tanks not always look picture perfect and still look beautiful!
Given the sheer amount of tanks and animals you have to move, I'm amazed there have been so few leaks or breakage! Overall you've done an amazing job and the most important thing is all of the animals continue to look happy and comfortablee. Keep it up, can't wait to see how the new room continues to take shape!
It's not even close to the same, but you have inspired me to start caring for some plants. I always thought I killed plants, but now I have a happy little rubber plant! I'm excited to keep on this trajectory!
Rubber plant is a good start! Hardy and tolerant, and cute! Just be careful of that white sap they have 😎 I have loads of plants and I have a couple kinds of the rubber tree, cool plants!
Pothos is amazing also, rlly easy to take care of, and there’s so many varieties like cebu blue, harlequin, emerald, and even the regular green jade pothos is beautiful. Good luck on your new plant-y journey
A $60 tank can go a long way! There’s so many different things you can do with that. I highly recommend making a vivarium or aquarium with materials you find outside for free. Or better yet, get a jar and make a terrarium also for free!
Some weeks are rainbows and some weeks are reality, and it feels like that's how keeping animals is. Plus, the move was a lot! I'm glad there weren't more issues.
I love that you show how the tanks look, even when things get a bit overgrown. This is the reality of keeping these critters! Things aren't pristine all the time. Great video buddy. Keep up the incredible work
thank you for taking the time to share! also I like when youtubers who are really good at what they do share their hard times, It makes one's own hard times in the hobby seem less related to our innate 'not-as-good-yet" and remind us that sometime stuff like this just happens.
It's so amazing to see your new animal room developing. It looks amazing. Amazing to see how your tanks fit in, you just have so many biotopes in just one room. Nature at home 😍
Aw I feel bad for Samson... But I know you're going to make him a great new home that he's going to love live in and I'm looking forward to see the build :) The tanks are really looking great and it seems that the animals are doing great :)
My boyfriend and I found your channel when we first started dating. Ever since, your videos have been a source of fun and stress relief. We had a big move last year and having this channel during that time was a blessing. We also just got to set up our corn snake Noodle's new tank after having to wait to go the next size up. We both laughed when I placed some decorations and said, "And finally, my favorite, plastic vine leaves." But I said it similarly to how you would talk about placing plants. Thanks for all the good times and I send you and yours much love 💙💙💙
It’s always nice seeing you do some maintenance on your tanks and showing the process behind what you do when a project gets taken down! It’s so nice and I’m sorry that you’re dealing with some BS still. Thank you so much for the upload Tanner, and I hope things smooth out soon
I love updates! Wow, those cherry shrimp are amazing. I could happily watch videos of you feeding your animals and doing maintenance. Its nice to see how well everyone is doing. I'm so sorry about the rainbow fish. I hope you replace them.
Glad Samson is ok, that's the most important thing. Sorry you have to take care of a "two steps back" kind of problem while trying to make steps forward. Just keep setting up those goals and making steady progress toward them, and the day will come when you can take us on a grand tour of all the splendors. Be well, stay sane. 😊
I feel you on this recent rash of bad luck. Last year was the same for me with something bad happening once a month for the latter half of the year. I hope things calm down for you as you settle into your new place.
Glad to see you addressing the issue of fish jumping before it becomes a more frequent occurrence. A nice update overall (minus the tank issue at the end, best of luck with the new set up for that though)
Thank you for sharing the failures that come with all of the success. It's so important to remember that you can't have one without the other, even when you are experienced and skilled at your craft. As a hobbyist inspired by your work, I am always encouraged by your undeterred perseverance.
Keep your head up bro. Its a bummer the tank is leaking, but you are doing such a great job, inspiring all of us with your creative ways. Sometimes its alot at the same time, especially with the move, renovations, all the maintanence at once... Times are tough, but they will turn around and your channel will grow even more, your collection will grow, and you will inspire even more people.... Heck, you inspired me to get back into turtles.... Stay strong Tanner, you are a OG and a stable in the animal YT scene
I just wanted to throw out there that even though your hobbies can be stressful at times, we can all tell just how fulfilling this is for you! There are people out there that are for lack of better words are lost and depressed. I feel like humanity has such a substance abuse issue due to chronic boredom and internet/video games/technology addiction. Seeing someone have such cool hobbies and sharing that is such a cool positive vibe. Some people don't have hobbies! This probably inspires others!
Thank you for taking the time to post Tanner! We all understand how busy you are trying to get everything set in the new space. I am very grateful as I am looking at a move about 14 hours away, sometime this year. Watching these videos has shown me what to watch for and that some big builds I should just hold off on. Thank you!
Thanks for being so candid and open about the process of you moving all your animals. Can't wait until you settle in to your new place and I'm excited to see what kind of new projects you'll be able to do later in the future. Keep up the great work!
Mine died within a day of having them in a tank that I had setup for months prior and made that tank specifically for those shrimp, along with a four hour drip acclimation
Tanner, your videos are a delight, and inspiring too. They give me a glimpse of where I’d be if I had followed my high school interest in tropical fish. (Instead, I found another obsession - tropical plants.) It’s amusing to hear you talk about your project of many years. Are you even 30 yet? I’ve been developing my collection for over 60 years, and I’m not nearly done. I wish I could be around to see what you’ve accomplished in another 30 or 40 years. Live long and prosper!
i love the first tank - i could watch it forever. if i had the energy to make and maintain it, i would do something similar. however due to.. stuff, i don't have the means at the moment and while i do want a tank, i don't want to neglect it in any way. so for now i'll just keep watching, admiring and wishing! i especially love all the plants and those i thankfully can maintain so i have a ton of houseplants, however i honestly think nothing can top aquatic plants - they're so beautiful!
Thank you so much for sharing a bit about maintenance. The only things I know about this hobby are from you! I think I know enough now to start building tiny projects but I don’t know enough about how to maintain them over time. You’re a great teacher!
So bummed about your bad luck, but as you noted, it could have been worse. I know your content usually hits on Saturday, but I like leaving it to Sunday night-it’s my Sunday, end-of-the-week, guilty pleasure. Always great to see one of your videos drop. I’m so anxious to see the new rooms up and running and come to fruition. ❤🎉 Good luck with the rest of the tank updates. As a retired person always looking for ways to stay busy while learning new info and skills, I wish you weren’t so far from coastal Texas-I’d love to volunteer to help out! Take good care. Be well. Laugh often.
Looks great and youre still progressing! Dont forget that. Big picture! Youre doing great. Take a breath, get some rest and keep on rockin amd rollin. Much love man! 🤘🐍
I love how all animals are the same when you start tampering with their things! They all want to see exactly what you’re doing and changing, and will often protest us removing things (my bun always attacks the broom because he doesn’t want his floor swept 😂)
I just had to change out one of my cockatiel's perches. I use natural wood perches that are basically segments of thick branches, and he loves them. Unfortunately, his favorite one, his sleeping perch, he'd partially chewed through and it was precariously close to breaking. So I replaced it the other day. Not only would he not sleep on it, he wouldn't go near it during the day! LOL He finally accepted last night that it won't eat him and returned to his normal sleep spot, on the NEW perch. Goofy critter. Sometimes they really don't like change.
Hey man, sorry to hear that you are having to deal with that leaking tank on top of everything else. Must be a challenge balancing everything. Appreciate your channel and all that you do for this community. Best wishes for your future projects!
Poor Samson! That must be stressful for you, especially in the middle of all of these other tasks. I hope he deals with the move okay and doesn’t get too stressed out! I know pixi frogs can be delicate ❤ but he seems very happy and healthy in general so I’m sure he’s strong!
Sorry Tanner that you have so many projects to complete. I am so glad you updated me on Samson because he is my favorite of all your animals. I’m so sad his tank is ruined but I plow you will make it better. Peace and love to you and your family! Amazing content as usual. I love just learning about your habitat rooms
I love all of the content you put out! This type of calm, simple videos where you do general maintenance are awesome! I hope you can catch a break soon, it's definitely pouring when it rains sadly. Just remember these are bumps in the road to your better future! Better these things happen now, while it's easy to address, than later when all of the tanks are in the room and there is more shuffling to be done. Keep your head up, and take it at your own pace. Like I said, even if it's just a simple video like this, I love it. And I'm sure others do too!
Hey dude, I was one day just searching for pc desks and you pc desk setup poped up on search, and oh man since then I have just binged watched most of your videos. They are so calming and the beautiful landscapes are just amazing. !!
Everything looks gorgeous and the animals look happy! I love seeing kind of around up and maintenance of lots of your tanks! Everybody loves a good makeover 🥰
Each one of your tanks are your babies! And each baby is gonna need attention once is a while- and some scream once in awhile. You do an amazing job! Thanks for your amazing channel.
Your setups are well planned but some mechanical failures are to be expected. Try not to get too down about it, and remember all you've accomplished and the happiness you've brought to so many! Peace.
I love seeing maintenance videos, so satisfying and good to be able to see how the tanks look after they’re more established! It’s such a bummer that Samson’s tank leaked, seems like a super stressful situation. Things like that are bound to happen though, hope it gets squared away soon. Can’t wait to see what the new room looks like!
Thank you for sharing your impromptu crisis video. I'm glad you caught the leak pretty quickly. Absolutely, it can cause you a bit more stress. But it was a good result. Your new setups will give you endless enjoyment. You have a gorgeous bacement to house your babies. Looking forward to your next video❗️ Stay cool 😎 . (USN-RET)🤙🇺🇸
THANK YOU FOR THE UPDATES :) I'M GLAD YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THE GOOD IN LESS CONFTEBLE SITUATIONS , SO GOOD FOR YOU AND ALL WHO WATCH THE VIDEO :) THANK YOU FOR SHARING :) THANK YOU FROM ISRAEL :)
I've been binging through your videos with my two boys getting inspiration for our first tropical tank. They have a challenge for when your all settled in - can you make a dinosaur themed riparium? Either with fossils or models!
I really enjoyed the vlog style part of the video. If you have ever thought about making shorter vlog style videos Id love to watch them and I'm sure many other people would too. Thank you for the great content. Truly amazing to see the works of art with beautiful animals living amongst it all.
I’m sorry that happened it’s so frustrating when issues like that crop up. It’s like the fates are out to get you, though it was nice to get a close up of Samson
I think the fishing jumping could be how the room is lit up? If the brightest light source is behind you when you walk by the tank. It could be large shadows that make fish jump.
HEY DUDE, BEEN FOLLOWING FOR YEARS AND EVEN GOT SOME INSPIRATION FROM OLD VIDS TO MAKE MY OWN! omg just realized caps was on and cant be bothered to retype hahaha, but i guess its an appropriate amount of emphasizem for what you do
The only two things I can think of that would make fish jump out like that in a noticeably different way would be either if you had a cat or some other predator which had harassed them for a good while between you checking on them, or somehow there was current leaking into your tank from the powered equipment. I doubt it's the electricity though because they're glass tanks on a wooden shelf. I would say chemical stressors could be possible, but without doing anything differently on your end that wouldn't just happen overnight. Bettas jumping out is often spontaneous and I know schooling fish can cause a runaway reaction, where if one overreacts then the rest do too. Hopefully it's just a coincidence, but I'm glad you're keeping them as safe as possible!
The 2nd tank with the frogs that are awesome the main rock on the right side looked like a face like a rock man!!! Don’t know if you’ve already seen that or placed on purpose but so awesome!!
I'm pretty new to your channel dude but your commitment and dedication is inspiring, I hope you have a chilled few days after you sort the tanks man :) you deserve it
Regarding the jumping: maybe the fish got startled by the lights coming on? I noticed my animals seem more relaxed when the lights come in gradually (or first enough ambient light). However, I also keep an acrylic sheet (with small seams for gas exchange) on top of my "open" tank. (Also, I have two cats, and while they are quite old now, I wouldn't want to tempt them...)
