Hi I'm Tanner! I am an artist, designer, photographer, nature lover and DIY fanatic. My passion is to bring nature indoors and share my projects/ideas with others.
The focus of my channel is to show how I use nature as an artistic medium. If you want to make a beautiful, long-lived terrarium or a bioactive vivarium, then this is the channel for you! I go in-depth on every topic, teaching you exactly how and why I do what I do. I also push the boundary, in hopes to create some of the most unique projects you'll see on this side of RU-vid.
SO COOL! Okay, so you know the miniature greenhouse where you grow the small plants and keep in the front on the window on the metal shelf?? Well, do you suppose you could grow healthy herb plants that way as well?? Seems like they would need air?
My snapper is so huge I'm afraid to even handle him .... but it's time decorate my 75 gal to something similar w/ less water . I wonder what kind of filtration you are using other than natural with the plants ? I have not found a good one yet and it's been 6 years .... I'm so uncreative with my designs by the way lol ... need huge help ... needless to say : subscribed
Such a great video❤️ as I sit here with my 2 and 2.5 gallon eco jars only a few weeks old , I envy your system, keep it up I'm excited to see year 8 update..just a few months keep being awesome , I'm definitely subscribing , keep being awesome my friend, great channel 😁🤙
Oh wow! Really love this setup, tempted to try something like this since my apartment is too small for a proper tank but this is nice and small... would it by any chance be suitable for shrimp? I assume fish are a no go but it'd be neat if it could house other species!
Two ✌🏾 things we learned today; Tanner WILL curse if he gets really passionate about his animals 😂 also, his wife is an enabler while he seems to be the discerning one 🤔 second guess whether he should get the small puffers 😂 I love these long form videos! Your passion really shows and it's giving me so many ideas! We have a 55 gallon simple tank from Petsmart with two red cichlids and a plecco. We don't have any plants in yet and I'm looking into adding some botanicals and want to add some plants over the top of the tank somehow 🤔 these videos give people (ME) the confidence to pursue new hobbies which become passions. So I thank you for TANKING the time to record and put these together for us!
Amphibians are VERY sensitive to a variety of commonly used chemicals around houses and gardens. It's why they have reduced their numbers by a whopping 80% over the last 80 years.
You're literally one of the most amazing people on this planet. You do so much good for animals and the landscapes you create are always beautiful and peaceful. 😊
Love the video. I’m trying to set my existing aquarium with plants at the back. They are already pretty established. I’m using plant stakes across the top, duck tape to secure and zip ties to secure the plants. They are fairly wobbly, so just trying to think of ways to secure them better. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks ☺️
Dear Tanner, I'm eager for the next installment! It would also be delightful to have an update on your backyard pond. Thanks for all of the beautiful, informative videos.
Isn't this an animals only setup? I mean, macroscopically. The closest thing to plants in there are zooxanthellae in corals, but those are algea. No plants allowed ;D
I love turtles, but I let my ex girlfriend keep our painted turtle. The tank smelled really bad and I didn't want to keep on cleaning it for the next 20 years.
A cliffhanger! I can’t wait for the next episode. LOL, so far this looks great. It’ll be nice to see it stocked. Lots of interesting features with this build.
Idk if anyone can answer this but if I have a 10gal planted tank (with nano fish and shrimp) with activ flora for substrate and I used purified gallon bottled water for the tank. Will me using seachem flourish be adequate in adding the different minerals to the tank that are lost from using purified water when doing water changes?
I loved this one sooo much. Aquariums are my favourite. I've had one for a while, but It's probably the most simple boring one ever(3 guppies lol) I'm hoping to put together a planted aquarium with guppies, swordtails and some kinda catfish, and Buce Plants sounded like such a perfect place to get plants, but they dont ship to Australia!! I'm soooo sad!. Gotta find a different place to get them
We had about 150 eggs hatch after two days and 117 froglets with minimum tadpole deaths. Tadpoles turned to frogs within a month. Pretty good survival rate. And a heck of a lot of frogs. But our environment for our new green tree frogs is substantially larger than that and they eat like champs.
