How are the carnival goldfish doing after over a year? See them now and see how much they've grown!
Last year, the kids won some goldfish at different carnivals. I know a lot of people get their start in fishkeeping when they win a fish so I want to help them be successful!

I have a pair of goldfish we won at the fair three years ago. The are doing very well and about to upgrade into a 40 gallon. They have so much personality.

I’m honestly excited to get some goldfish at the carnival in a couple weeks because I’m going to get a 30 gallon tank and I’m gonna get try and win like three or two goldfish but yeah

Beautiful fish especially the one with the white mouth I had 2 goldfish in a 15 gallon had them for about 3 years now I have fancy goldfish 3 of them in a 35 gallon

Just wanna say, 20 gallons is really damn small for any goldfish, if these are commons they would need a pond

Yes! Thanks for pointing that out for the viewers. I meant to say something in the video so that people would know. I have a 60 gallon tank for them that needs a stand and a place to set it up. And eventually they will need an even bigger tank, or a pond, but I plan to have a fish building 😁. And I really don’t want people to think the 20 gallon would be ok long term.

Yeah just 1 common needs a 100g tank, they definitely need upgraded as they’re extremely stunted right now

I wish I knew anything about fish keeping back when I went to elementary school when I got my carnival fish other than that if I found out how to take care of fish by then or before I would’ve had at least six healthy fish live with me if I had enough money to take care of them

My son won a goldfish at the fair almost a week ago. I didn’t know any better and just got the little 1 gal tank they were selling at the fair. He wasn’t acting “right”/healthy so I started researching and man did I learn a lot. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I have since purchased and set up a 37 gallon tank. I used tetra safe, tested the water and it seems ready to go. I also ordered and want to do the 3 med combo treatment on the fish. Should I put him in a 10 gallon tank (before adding to big tank) to do the med treatment or should I just add him to the big tank and treat him in there? He’ll be the only fish in there so there’s no risk of infecting others if he’s in the big tank.

The only negative with treating the fish in the larger tank is that you will need more meds. Other than that, I would always vote for more water. I think the big hurdle is having a cycled tank so watch out for ammonia and nitrite and keep feedings very small for a while as the tank cycles. Good luck!
