12:10 "Dont feel like cleaning it" is mainly the reason why I revert to using my hands for stuff. Its crazy how we have all these gadgetry supposedly to make our lives easier but a minor hassle when it comes to cleaning them makes us not want to use them.
Nj here too and I loved the snow the last few days I'm a delivery guy in toms river and we got hammered but less than expected Always a good day when James posts
I've bought so many items after seeing your reviews of them and haven't been disappointed yet. I trust your opinion very much. When I am looking for a certain item to buy, I usually try to search a like item on this channel first, and go from there. I've been here a long time and plan to stay as long as you keep making videos. ❤
I watch your videos quite regularly. I even find myself watching your older catalog videos. I’ve purchased a few items based on your reviews, thank you for the quality content and honest reviews. Keep up the good work!!
I came to say the same thing. You may not need them for all of your ornaments, but having those security hangers for your really special, heirloom and delicate ornaments would be perfect. Also very helpful for heavy ornaments. I have silver plated sleigh bells that my mom bought in the late 70s. There was a jewelry store near her office that sold silver and silver plated ornaments every year. She’d hit them up after Christmas and buy several. They’re still beautiful.
While I liked the idea of having nice ornaments on my tree being held safely in place, it broke my daughter's heart not watching her 188 pound Saint Bernard/Mastiff mix dog's tail launch the cheapos across the living room at high speed. To be honest it cracks me up too😂😂😂. Its become a tradition to load up on new ones when they're75-90% off in January.
I’ve been trying to sell my parents on the ottoman. I think it looks best as an ottoman but with added functionality as emergency cot for the grandkids.
I have hallmark keepsake ornaments that didn't come with a hook or anything to hang it. I used dental floss (not used) as a way to hang a few of them. I think i might get those ornament anchors. Do they come in a package of more than one?
I really enjoy watching the updates. I remember watching the original review of the Christmas magnets. I can't believe it was from November 2022. I didn't think it was over a year since I first watched the original review.
Totally agree with you on cheap sunglasses. I never lose a pair of cheap sunglasses (I might sit on them, tho) and lost the only expensive glasses within a month!
Put the christmas decoration stickers under a heavy book or something to flatten them. I would just use either parchment paper or vax paper between the book and the decorations to prevent sticking.
15:17 I think they advise not puttinf multiple lights together because they may trigger each other's motion detector. I put up 4 solar morion detecting lights on my gutters, about 6ft apart from each other and I observed that car headlights will trigger the one closest to the street and then the next light will trigger and then the next and then the last one even though it has no clear line of sight to that car.
Oh, my goodness! I used to have one of those slushy makers when I was young! How nostalgic. I remember loving that thing. Now I want to get one again. LOL
Yeah, the Hamilton Beach breakfast sandwich maker just seems like making breakfast sandwiches with more steps and more cleanup. My mum makes the same sandwiches (bacon instead of ham) every Christmas, and she can make two or the on the stove in the same amount of time that thing makes one. Cleanup is much quicker as well, because pans go in the dishwasher.
I don't like single-use kitchen appliances at all, but it seems like a lot of people in the comments love their sandwich makers. I guess it's a good product for what it is
@@hectorg5809 I don't disagree that it's a good product. It does what it says it's supposed to, I just don't see the need for it in a traditional home. I get it if you're in a dorm or somewhere you don't have a stove (especially homes & apartments outside the U.S. that genuinely don't come with stoves), but barring extenuating circumstances, I don't see the point. Like I said, extra steps with more cleanup. It's cool, but again, I can make more breakfast sandwiches, and faster, with easier cleanup, with a traditional pan and spatula. If people want to buy it, that's fine, but it's still just another single use kitchen gadget taking up more space, even if it actually does do what it's supposed to 🤷🏻♀️
Ah yes, the good old pipe cleaners. How I hated them for ornaments, looked so tacky, to me. Thanks for the look back, James, always fun to see your older reviews. Enjoy your weekend/month. 🤗
12:29 I bought my breakfast sandwich maker on close out for $5 as a novelty I don't even remember how long ago. I haven't used it in years. The instructions say you can add a slice of ham or a precooked sausage patty to the bottom portion, but it doesn't always heat up very much and the liquid that comes out of the ham as it warms makes the bottom part of the English muffin a bit soggy. Plus the ham needs to be cut to fit inside the ring. I prefer my English Muffin toasted on the cut side and a bit soft on the outside, whereas the sandwich maker toasts the outside and leaves the inside soft. I found myself toasting the muffin myself using the toaster's bagel setting while the sandwich maker was preheating. I also don't like how the top part of the English muffin sinks into the egg as it cooks. When you consider the preheat and cook times, you can make a better breakfast sandwich on your own in the same amount of time.
The breakfast sandwich maker is so good. I got the double version after your review, as one sandwich usually isn't enough for me. I prefer using sausage on mine so I have to throw those frozen sausage patties in the microwave for like 1 minute so they get hot in the cooker or else they'll still be pretty cold, no big deal since I just wrap it in a paper towel. Also add cheese directly to the bottom english muffin/bun/whatever you use, it will stop the cheese from getting that texture in the review. As long as you use american slices, it will melt but not explode out.
I was thinking of getting one of these. He made it look so easy to use. I prefer sausage as well. Thanks for the tip to heat it up a little first. Have you tried using any other types of bread in it instead of English muffins? Like frozen pancakes or crumpets?
@@shannondore I've had one for years (also the double) and I have used every kind of bread you can think of. In the beginning I would cut them into perfectly sized circles first, but now I just jam whatever bread it is I'm using in there with a sort of fold/tuck/smoosh method, and it works perfectly every time. :)
@@shannondore What Kara said, I would use english muffins at first but then would just jam regular hamburger buns into the holes if they were too large. Worked exactly the same and the parts of the bun in contact with the heating plates became nice and crispy, adding some nice texture.
16:30 I'd be guessing the "existing light" you're meant to avoid is one that's always on, so you wouldn't want to put it next to an always on porch light, for instance, but since they're both off, it should work fine. the always on light, if of a certain wavelength, could conceivably interfere with the IR sensor, but more likely they're worried it'd be outshone...
I bought a used but clean Hamilton Double Sandwich Maker (does two at once) and i've used it a ton. It is such a cheap meal (in Canada where egg prices arent crazy) and it tastes amazing. I gently use a wet napkin to clean the top and bottom and the pieces I toss in the dishwasher. Super easy! But pro tip: I put the cheese after the hot sandwich is assembled because its hot enough to melt afterwards and it makes the machine so much easier to clean.
Egg prices are fine here now. You can get a dozen of Grade A large for under $2. Pretty much everything else is more expensive though. Beef is outrageous compared to a few years ago
i had a pair of sunglasses that i wore for 3 years. they were great loved using them. i couldnt loose them! like i swear i tried to get rid of them at one point, like i remeber throwing them away in trash. a couple days later, they appeared on my dash. so now they sit in my room because of that moment.
The Ornament Anchor is great if you have pets. I don't put ornaments on the last 1/3 of my tree because my cat loves to take the baubles of my tree. The Anchors would stop him taking them but also give him hours of fun trying to get them.
After I saw your review, I bought a Hamilton Beach sandwich maker. I,too, use mine a couple of times a month. Love it! I even bought one for a friend who was really impressed with it! Thank you so much!
Yes. Some of these products might seem great, but I've had my share of things suddenly die. The absolute worst was one of those aluminum wallets that you can run over with a car, but the day I got it I dropped it once and the crap plastic hinge shattered.
@@ImTakingYouToFlavorTownYeah that's why I do like this series. A lot of times I will add things to my Amazon list and when I see these update videos, then I will decide if I want to get them or not. I just did it with the ornament hangers. Price has even come down, it now is posted for like $16.99 for 24 instead of when this originally aired they were $25 for 24. So I do.always appreciate his updates 😁👍
Try using a bit of parchment paper in the breakfast sandwich maker, where the egg makes a mess. It should make it a lot easier to clean up after. Just cut a bunch of pieces of paper to size and then toss them out once done. I have found parchment paper to be an incredible help when it comes to easy clean up.
This is why I love this channel. Personally, every item in this video are nothing but junk. Some of them kinda work, like the floodlight, but nearly all of the rest are trash.
Those ornament anchors save my tree from the cat, who thinks the tree is his personal toy. My first Christmas several years ago, he and my dog destroyed expensive ornaments. I can put nicer ornaments on the tree and he can bat them without knocking them off.
I have one of those sandwich makers, actually a double sandwich one. Every now and then I'll get in a sandwich mood and just for like a month have breakfast sandwiches for breakfast multiple times a week. Honestly is a great piece of hardware.
We've had a HB breakfast sandwich maker for 10 years. It was great for my kids. I put the English muffin in, upside down, while it's pre heating. That way the cut sides get a little toasted. Then I flip the bottom one, put on since ham, cheese, scrambled egg. Cook for a few minutes then put the top muffin on. I also make them without the English muffins! Make a crustless pizza!
I have tree ornaments older than my 20 something children, it’s not about the ornament staying on the tree, it’s about the packing away, and unpacking 11 months later. It needs to be a quick and efficient process. Those hangers really didn’t look like an easy option!
@Freakinreviews I love love love your channel! I have a question. And I know it’s just an opinion answer. I know you’re not a doctor (at least I think you’re not? 😂). Anyway, The TRTL Pillow…. I have severe neck problems. I’m a side sleeper. Do you think that might help? Regular pillows SUCK. I can’t have a big pillow that raises my head up at an angle, and if it’s TOO flat, it’s not soft enough. So I’m wondering if I got this, would it work if I still put it on and slept on a flat pillow? In your opinion of course.
The sandwich maker is my favorite after seeing your review, 2 Cent Chick’s and a few others. I avoid the mess by getting it nice and hot before putting in the ingredients and then giving the egg about 15 seconds to seal around the seams before closing the top. But even so, I still love having it all compact into one unit instead of a pan for the sausage a plate for the sausage while you’re cooking the egg, another plate for the muffin when it comes out of the toaster and trying to bring all these together so they are all hot at the same time. Open the lid and the whole sandwich comes out ready to eat. It’s brilliant!
You doing it wrong with sandwhich maker. I put cheese on bottom then meat.on top. Then put egg in top after closing and making sure it is down all them way and slid closed. Break egg yoke and mix it too.
I have a rack puller similar to that one and I love it. I have a very small kitchen sometimes getting items out of the oven is awkward cause the door doesn't open all the way. So not only is that puller good for pulling the rack out but I use it more to pull the dish or pan out a little so I can get a good grip of it to pull it out of the oven.👍🏻
19:30 I bought the equiv @ K-Mart (AU) for $8, supposedly "vegan" (which I am). They are VERRRRY comfortable, but all stretch, so can be taken off without untying and under the wrong load will come off your feet (rare) (no need for on-line accounts),. But now a few years later, similar slippers (I wouldn't wear them out) are now $30+ AUD at K-Mart. I should of bought a few. I like them and use them as sneakers on my home cross-trainer. And yeah, NO ARCH
So this video is 8 months old and it's getting ready to come app on Christmas and I wanted to tell you, I don't know if you're going to want to use those things again, those Christmas stick on things, those magnet things, but I guarantee if you took like a cinder block. Or something heavy, and you know, set that down on top of it. With the reflective part, obviously laying down face down and put that heavy cinder block or some bricks on top of there, or you know something flat, that's quite heavy and just kind of left it set outside when it's warm, I think those would flatten back out. I think I'm not sure, but it's a good, it's a good try. You could try it. It's it's not going to hurt anything to do it so to try it out to see if you can flatten them back out. It's definitely worth it. I think maybe not for you, but I would do it if it were me.
Hoi honeybun, We have a fake tree and when we fold the tree to put it away, we leave the ornaments and lights on there! Maybe this gadget (ornament anchor) would be fab for this?? We only have a canary that does not leave his 'villa' (cause his cage is really big!!), so it's save to use, HAHAHA!! Cause with cats and/or dogs around, you never know, no? I can not find that Broombi Brush, I would wanna buy it if I would found it 😞. Darn I'm so jealous that you have so many cool shops that aren't here, like that Coca-Cola shop and many others (Dollar Store f.i.)!!! I am a big Coke fan, although I have been drinking for many years now (diabetes!), what I call Cola GOLD (= Cola without sugar & without caffeine, but great taste!!) instead or regulair Coke. I saw a lot of Japanees people use such kind of pot-handles and they used them a lot! OMG; I could use such push-pull-gadget cause I burn myself very easily!! Warm hugs & love from an old rebel-Pinkie
That ottoman could be very useful for camping. Or I suppose it would be more on the side of glamping. That said, there are very small apartments out there and having a bed that can be folded up during the day is why futons and murphy beds exist in the first place, so I think it could also be useful for people in those situations.
If all you make with the Hamilton Sandwich maker is sandwiches, then you are wasting your appliance! Get those egg silicon rings and you can make fried eggs (I do my sunny side up) in MINUTES, cleanup is a paper towel. I also have fried spam (bacon is too messy, avoid!), reheated hash browns, even put a slight crisp on the outside of pizza pops after time in the microwave. It is basically a small hot plate with a hot plat above it. You can do more with it than sandwiches! I prefer the double maker btw, it is so cheap now, why skimp - get the extra space! I have even made tiny pancakes in the rings!
I bought the flashlight and it was very bright, but very flimsy. Dropped it outside when walking the dog and it began to fall apart in the weeks to follow. But it was a dollar during a promotion, so I didn't freak out. I bought a few of those tablets for my grandson and his friends. I also sent them some more watch batteries for when it conked out. They love the tablets. I made the oven push/puller back in the 80's, during Shop class. Still have it! Love your reviews!
Hey James! Please update your profile picture 🙏It would suit the channel more, nowadays you have a more "friendlier" appearance 😉 I am watching your Videos since I can remember and I am loving them ever since 💛
I don't know that giving my money to the Walton family is any better, but I'm going out on a limb here to say that WalMart employees are probably better off than the Uyghurs and other mostly Muslim minorities in China. So, no to Temu, IMHO. There's little to no transparency as to who is making their products.
I'm usually pretty good about not losing stuff, but with the amount of stuff I go through every month, there have been times I've accidentally donated something I actually wanted to keep!
To avoid the cheese running everywhere on the sandwich maker, don't put it into the sammy until you remove it from the maker. Plenty of residual heat to melt it just right. Or use real cheddar and not that plastic stuff. Elevate your breaky!
The reflector ornaments, How bout when you store them try sticking them in between some cardboard and keep something heavy on them? Might help keep them straighter.
Love your reviews! But how on earth did you touch the sandwich maker with your bare hands? Mine gets super hot so I have to use a pot holder when opening it up and sliding the platen open. Also, try shredded cheddar for the cheese in the bottom section. Less spillage. I've tried it with bacon bits as well. Very clever device.
15:08 Jeff foxworthy said it best. You can be on a cruise in the middle of the ocean. Drop your cheapo glasses overboard and a diver will pop up and say “somebody drop a pair of cheapos?”
Im a recent subscriber and im so glad to have found your channel! I especially love this series (1 year after review) beause its the most helpful for most consumers to find out if they hold up
Lol, I would lose a pair of sunglasses that I had paid for but the ones that I found somewhere I had for a year or two without losing them! Murphy's law.
Can the hinge on the hamilton beach breakfast sandwich maker sliding egg tray thing be tightened? I've had the same thing for years and never have issues with egg leaking out. Yours also looks a lot looser than mine.
The Hamilton breakfast maker is easy to clean, get a wet paper towel and a silicon tong. While the machine is still hot, wipe it down. That’s it, simple.
With that sandwich maker, I wonder if it would end up cleaner with a medium-sized egg and if the cheese was torn into squares and piled up closer to the center.
I think the ornament anchor is so dumb. There was pretty much no innovation there, I'm sure the guy who went on shark tank with those basically buys 100,000 pieces for like $5 from Alibaba or something and sells it for $5 for a pack of 10 or something in the US. Setting hooks on a Christmas tree feels more "holiday spirit" and traditional. Even if they are unstable and prone to fall...its part of the Holiday Magic, lol.
@botcrack yeah lol. I have one and he couldn't resist the tree or the ornaments or the candy canes we put on the tree. Someone else in the comments said that they have a dog who messes with their tree
@@doll9340 I totally get all that but just the fact that the item is such a generic thing and marketed as such a niche item. 1 of those probably costs 2cents and sold for like 3000% profit, lol. That thing can be sold as a zipper pull, chip bag or bread bag ties, even a c*ck ring lol. It's like when the pandemic was at its peak and people were selling curved pieces of metal as contactless door puller/pushers so you don't have to touch the actual door knobs. If the door knob was round then I guess you were just stuck in that room forever lol
