I have two rapid ramen cookers in my house. I cook it for the three minutes and then let it sit for a minute or two texture improves. Also a benifit of it is that it doesn’t get hot like a bowl so I can grab it without getting burned.
I mean, you get that with pretty much any plastic food bowl anyway. Okay, you'll have to break the noodle block into pieces for most plastic bowls, but don't most of us like shorter noodles anyway?
@@Dee_Just_Dee depends if you’re used to eating them like that I like to sit in twist them around my fork that’s hard when they’re short. I find that they cool down too fast when they’ve been nuked but fine with regular boiling water. Just like the other commentary say.
Hi James and James' fans. I'm an old granny who still washes dishes by hand. That brush thingy is a no go in my book. The water wouldn't stay hot enough, and it wouldn't be a convenient way to wash handles and the backs of bowls/plates. Thanks for all your videos. You spend your money so I can save mine.
I really do enjoy these update videos and all your videos! It's crazy how there is not even 1 video of yours that I have watched where I was not completely focused on the video and all my problems and whatever is happing in my life at that moment literally leaves my mind. Other RU-vidrs that I follow I can't say that about every single video of theirs.
i got the coldest water bottle after watching your review. i love that bottle. i take it on my bike runs. keeps the water very cold in a hot summer. a bit pricey but worthy.
I'm waiting for the timer on my stove to go off while watching this. The microwave beeped on the ramon cooker.. started to head for the kitchen till I realized it was on the video lol
The sink & spin is great at keeping debris & dirty water from flipping out of the sink or onto the individual using it. Unless it's submerged during use...a handheld brush sends stuff flying, despite the angle in which you use it.
Aww, it's a shame LifeFuels was discontinued. I could really see that being good for flavoring booze. A little vodka cocktail that no one knows is vodka. 😂
maybe if you take fruit concentrates (very concentrated) you can refill the flavor bottles. but I would suggest you take 100% natural fruit juices directly which are healthier and good for you
You should open a store/museum, sell the products that made the cut and display the products that were the worse and or discontinued. Great video as always.
To be fair I always make noodles or ramen in the microwave I just put them in a plastic bowl with 300ml water and the packet of seasoning and that’s it. Cooked!
I bought the lit up shoe clip things for my child, thought they would help me finding him when we were out of the country traveling. One felt off on the street first time using and was lost 😅
I have the pet hair broom, and I gotta say I love it. My current apartment doesn't have much carpet so it doesn't get used as much as it used to, but it's awesome. But I do get better results PUSHING it rather than pulling. Just a thought.
I use a DIY ketchup holder that consists of a Taco Bell cup with a Little Caesars Crazy Sauce cup nested inside. Perfect combo for dipping Chick Filet fries.
Ive never made 2 minute noodles on the stove. Also just now discovered that Ramen is what American call instant noodles, or 2 minute noodles as ive always called them. Here in NZ we reserve the word Ramen for proper Ramen eg fresh noodles with a broth, cant remember which Asian cultures sell it here. Possibly multiple.. im sure I've had Vietnamese and Chinese Ramen as well as Japanese.
Ramen is just a name of a Japanese Noodle dish, so instant noodles is correct & the right word for noodles that are cooked instantly, Not every noodle is a ramen (Pasta, Toppoki are both a type of noodles, etc)
I just pour boiling water over the noodles and contents of seasoning packet, to cover, in a bowl....cover w a saucer, or whathaveyou, and let stand for a few minutes
About the Top Ramen Cooker: I think most of the convenience of the product is that you don't have to break up the block of noodles to fit it all into the bowl. I bet that a lot of people figure out that they like shorter noodles anyway, haha. About the Glare Guard: Anybody whose eyeglass prescription is relatively mild should just get cheap prescription sunglasses online from a vendor like Zenni. This glare guard only occupies a niche for those people who absolutely can't get prescription sunglasses. And even so, that niche is already occupied by clip-on sunglass lenses and "over-glasses" sunglasses. Just my 2¢ as always.
with the LifeFuels, I don't think you can compete with a plastic water bottle with some flavor powders or liquid type it's neat though that it exists, this is just how the tech market ends up killing things, creating things nobody asked for at huge price tags also wondering why it didn't have a stirrer built in, seems like a missed opportunity to me
You are an unusual consumer. I’m guessing you understand more about the features than most people ever bother to learn. That water bottle was very niche. Too smart for the masses.
Kind of knew that Life Fuel is going to get discontinued. I am starting to think twice about anything that requires proprietary sort of refills from new companies.
I try not to buy anything that has a proprietary refill system I have enough bad memories of that shit from the '90s and printer ink LOL definitely don't want to turn any other things I enjoy into a injket printer situation LOL
I also saw it coming but I feel bad for him. It's ok to splurge on weird luxury tech. But yeah, anything requiring refills (especially refills with no knock-offs on the market) seem to be a bad idea. Like those Quip toothbrushes. I couldn't get away from their awful ads for a while. I actually like the toothbrush design but their proprietary replacement brush heads are $10 each (or $5 if you join the rich kid club). I'm used to paying like $3 per replacement head, so like, zoinks. If they're relying on their ad campaign to do all the heavy lifting for their product (an electric toothbrush with a cute design), then when people get tired of the ads, will the product even still be around?
This is why I hate anything that's "as a service" or a subscription tied to expensive hardware. They kill it and your product is a paperweight. I won't be getting a ring doorbell or a smart home thing or whatever that requires third party to keep it runnning.
same, though, if you're tech savvy enough you can self-host and diy your own alternatives to those... wish someone sold a more expensive up-front option that would easily tap into your own server and work together. same with stuff like google drive/photos, i'd prefer to backup to my own servers. (instead of relying on subscriptions to make profit)
You don't need to have a subscription service to Ring for it to work. You can still see and communicate with people outside through the app. If you want it to record, then yea you have pay but its only $3 a month. Idk about other ones though.
@@Amp081393 yeah through the app. And what happens when they stop updating the app and it's not tagged to work on newer os versions. You'll be screwed if you aren't savvy enough to hack it in some way.
@@GigsVT that's only a problem on ios. On android you can have the app forever and download it fro 3rd party sites App controlled is fine. An app is literally a program on your phone. Its like saying anything that runs with a pc program is bad. Thats ludicrous right? So well yea but it does it through an app is nonsensical criticism The issue are cloud based always online server based nonsense, which stops when the support stops. This is as prevelent on pc as it is on phones let me tell ya Funnily enough, this is none of those. This is a case of proprietary refills stopping production,a whole other kettle of fish
You can refill the LifeFuels pods with anything you want when they are empty. I have created alot of strange and unusual tastes with it. So even if it is discontinued, you can still use it 😉
Also, pet peeve... people who don't wash the handles of utensils, pots, pans, undersides of bowls, outsides of glasses. The whole thing needs to be washed so the dishwashing thing would be a no from me. TFS
why would you even wash the handles of utensils tho? in my 30 years on this earth ive never done it, havent seen anyone do it either. (Obviously i would wash it if its clearly dirty, but you get my point)
@@ibustanut Wow thanks for letting me know so I don't eat dinner at your house lol lol seriously though, people are touching the handles. They need to be washed. Also, maybe you put a few utensils in the sink along with other dishes before washing them and they got food or whatever on them. Maybe better like this... how would you feel if you ate at a restaurant and knew only the eating part of the utensils were washed? That everyone that day used those utensils to eat and only the eating part of the fork was washed? Gross. The whole front and back of dish, bowls, inside and outside, etc should be washed.
Unless you use bleach in your dishwater which I do but most don’t, the majority of dish soaps before corona were not antibacterial so regardless of what you did or did not wash there was probably some fecal matter and other contaminants on them. Google and you will see the kitchen sink is dirtier than a toilet
Even though it was briefly mentioned, I think the rapid soup mug is still my most used product to date that you've reviewed. Of course mine is the sistema brand.
The sink and spin reminds me of the cup washer we used at a restaurant i worked at . although we had two brushes. I know they use them in bars a lot. Great idea but wrong shape
I could see it being useful for security work; former night gate guard speaking. Having a handsfree light would have been a godsend when signing people in and out from my station, and headlamps don't play nice with hard hats.
i was looking for a stable and bright light dog collar for late night walks and no luck, mostly negative reviews on everything I clicked. then i was like what about a headlamp? bought Kucoal LED rechargeable headlamp (2pk) for 19.99 think it would work for a bicycle just with a bit modification on placement.
Hi James, I would just like to take a moment to thank you not only for the reviews, but for the time stamps you put in your videos. Not enough tubers use them, and they make a huge difference.
11:49 cant you just refill the small bottles with concentrates to give it at least some life? I liked how fast it tracked the drinking too bad they went bankrupt
They're single use pods. I seriously doubt the system would allow you to fill it with your own concentrates. I mean, the point for them was to be proprietary and computer controlled so people had to buy their pods. Best that could be hoped for, I think, is some 3rd party releasing compatible generic pods. Seeing as the bottle itself is discontinued, that seems unlikely.
@@flippy9133 Even if you could refill them, the app may not accept a refilled container, like how HP got in trouble over ink refilling in printer cartridges years ago.
@@ThatSoddingGamer I wonder what the game plan was all along, considering their products were unjustifiably and unsustainably expensive to buy piece-by-piece. Maybe yearly subscriptions could have kept the gig going. Oh well. That's business for you.
seeing you running around the park all lit up reminded me, back in the 80's, while I was in the ARMY, one night I wanted to mess with the guys, so late at night, I cut open about a dozen chem lights, and sprinkled the juice all over my field jacket, and ran around the field. there were over 20 calls to the MP's saying that there were weird lights blinking on the parade field. so SCORE!! ;P
I never thought I'd hear you say that you don't have a product you have reviewed anymore. It always seems like you have everything either in use or in the bone yard. Btw we need some bone yard shirts! It's like the Vegas neon sign museum I think you could get really creative with the designs
It's sad that the LifeFuels water bottle was discontinued as it did look great, but I think its problem was the price factor. If its price was a little more affordable, then maybe it would still be available. Oh well, it was a valiant effort on their part and at least it got an honorable mention from you James
Your reviews are super useful as a consumer but honestly I mostly watch your videos for Bailey. She seems so well behaved and loving from your videos. If you see this please give her a nice pat for me :)
🤣 Sink n spin is such a ridiculous and worthless product. Lifefuel is the same. With so many flavored drops out there that are actually reasonably priced, WHY would anyone want it?
I know I’m late in the game but I was at ATT to upgrade my phone and they had a water bottle that claimed to keep your water ice cold for 24 hours plus it charges your phone and it lives up to its purpose. It was $39 about 6 months ago and it’s still going strong. I still have ice in it after 24 hours!
I remember the coldest water bottle from that guy who drank out of all the Disney fountains in his water bottle, posted it online, then got fired and barred with a trespass order from returning to any Disney location ever
@@Dee_Just_Dee Found the story - the guy, a Disney cast member, posted Tiktoks where he filled his stainless water bottle with water from the DECORATIVE FOUNTAINS in the park. Not water fountains or water refilling stations or even the water from the sink in the bathroom. Nope. The employee filmed himself doing a series of "taste tests" of water he scooped up from 5 of the various themed decorative fountains around the park. Kinda disgusting, dangerous (due to the dye, algaecide and other chemicals in the water), and definitely not the type of behavior that Disney expects from it employees.
Everything in the world is "Tactical" I was just looking at 30ft tape measures....yep, they're now tactical. I wouldn't buy one juse BECAUSE it's "Tactical" I'm really tired of that campaign to get people tu buy crap.
@@laurahubbard6906 Yes, you are right. Next will be a "Tactical" pencil sharpener made from "Military Grade" aluminum or some such nonsense. Being retired Army, I find all this military references hyper selling very annoying. Have a great day!
I used a Hydro Flask for a few years, recently bought a Coldest water bottle just because the cap covers the rim of the bottle. It's a small thing, but it makes a big difference, especially if you get your hands dirty when working.
That ramen bowl utterly fails simply because it doesn't give the proper cook time. 3 minutes isn't long enough unless you like large, slightly tough noodles. If you prefer a consistency a little closer to angel hair spaghetti, 5 minutes I've found is the sweet spot. Unless I'm boiling an egg for my ramen, I prefer the microwave.
I got 2 top romen cookers both used daily multi times by teen boys 3 min cook time no extra pan AND THEY WASH IT WHEN DONE WOW. WE GO THROUGH A LOT OF ROMEN
I’ve been cooking ramen in the microwave in a regular bowl for years. Everyone in flint knows 1-1/2min in the microwave then add sauce then another 1-1/2min and it’s perfect. Don’t need a “special” bowl lol.
I am a professional housecleaner. Do not waste your $ on a carpet fur broom. Invest in Dyson vacuum. I just bought another one on sale new p, upright, full size, for $240 The Chom Chom (the same thing sold all over internet under different names) works well.
The top Ramen cooker is stupid. I've been cooking my Ramen in the microwave in a regular microwaveable bowl for a long time. And they turn out just fine. Useless product. 🙄
Does this ramen cooker thing claim to have any features that would make it different from any microwave-grade plastic container, or make it more suitable for preparing ramen? It sure seems like one of the zillion microwaveable plastic pots that was randomly associated with ramen - maybe there was something more about it?
I love my top Ramen bowl, use it every time. My grandchildren love to use it, we love that the handles stay cool, unlike a bowl after 3min in a microwave burnt fingers. Mawmaws hate burnt fingers😊 love your videos
Timing is of the essence - my missus' birthday is nearing, and she could absolutely do with something like this Coldest bottle... Thanks for the idea ;)
I have one of those 20 whatever ounce hydroflash bottles and it's complete trash. It won't keep water cold when half filled with ice in 60 degree weather. I have and swear by 3 RTIC bottles. I used the 36oz bottle as my daily container for years and it will easily keep ice for over 24 hours.
