I have expectations for Slot i saw one of his interviews where he said he tries to control everything and leave nothing to chance. I feel klopp did leave a lot to chance and i agree with you a slowed down controlled attack might help.But i am worried that the ownership don't really care about trophies they more focused on getting top 4 and running a sustainable business.

Not going to lie...I was underwhelmed when it looked like Slot was the choice but the more I read and hear from ex-players, pundits and those who know the man....the more convinced I am that Edwards has made a sound choice here.

City play very slow and controlled, our games are just constant chaos. While that’s more exciting and attractive to watch, it doesn’t win you titles. Conceding easy goals because even our own players don’t understand the chaos and have no structure at times which leads to constant comebacks. These comebacks require a lot of energy from the players which is one of the reasons we get so many injuries and we look exhausted the second half of the season. In order to keep this style of play going you’d need the type of depth City have, which we don’t, we rely on the same top players every single game so we need structure and a more possession based system so our players can last a whole season. Slot offers this type of control which is the key to make this incredible squad a title winning squad. Another big thing that we’ll change that could up our points total by 5-10 points is our set pieces, for some reason we don’t have a set piece coach which not only offensively but also defensively can change games. Arsenal is a prime example of that! Glad we’re finally looking for a set piece coach. Because we’ve got players that can deliver a ball in Trent, Macca and plenty others and we’ve got arguably one of the best headers in Virgil.

We also lack players who can take on defenders and make those individual plays when the build up doesn’t work. I’d love to see Bakayoko as he’s similar to Doku but more effective and direct in the final third. Salah still delivers the G/A but you can see the decline in take ons, dribbles, sprints etc. we lack that explosiveness, Lucho is the only one who does it regularly and I believe Cody and Dom can do so but not at the level we need them to. That’s why a Johan Bakayoko can add a lot of versatility and unpredictability in our attacking style. (Nico Williams is great aswell, bargain of a release clause but he demands ridiculous wages of €300k a week which is more than Virgil, Salah and Trent so I don’t see it happening) Kudus and Kvaratshkelia are great options but the €100m price tags are a big risk.

Spot on - we definitely need someone who can go 1v1 and win those battles in our attack. Mane and Salah used to be that - we don't really have that anymore.

I've no problem with our possession being improved. Let's pray it has little resemble to Pep's style coz it bores me to tears. You could watch City on fast forward & miss nothing. LFC have always throughout the decades been 1 of the best possession sides. But play with excitement & yes a chaos to our game. Each play was unique to that moment. So repetition, rinse & repeat City like possession was never the LFC way.

It’s not the possession that needs improvement but the control. We’re up their with City, Spurs and Brighton in terms of possession and have more than Arsenal. But we (also Brighton and Spurs) need more control which. I know it’s very similar but at the same time it’s still a big difference. :)

@@williamfarrell4754 True he’s got the pressing and agressive highline of Klopp but the control and possession based style of Pep. Which is ideal imo. It’ll be interesting to see how his central overload will turn out to be in the PL. He’s done phenomenal in the Eredivisie but the PL is a lot harder, faster paced. You don’t get as much time and space so it’ll deffo be interesting! He might change some things tho, we don’t know his plans but it’s unlikely he’ll copy his system. I’m very excited for mre-season, seeing Macca in the double pivot again. Cody in his natural position, Dom as a 10 or even on the right. Trent in a slightly different inverted role. I’m hyped! :)

Possession is not an issue for us, we have plenty of it. It’s our vulnerability when we lose the ball which needs sorting. I truly believe it’s only subtle tweaks to the balance of the team that need changing to see a big difference, let’s hope Arne can get the balance right.

We have possession - it’s what we do with the ball when we have it. I want to see more fluidity especially up front. I think Slot will make that top priority.

We have been terrible this season in counter attack 3 4 or 5 players against 2 defenders did not matter we always found a way not to score so more controlled attacking might help

Change is good. Looking forward to a new era under Slot with talented squad. We need a more controlled style of football. We need at least 5 leaders in the squad like we used to have in the 18/19 & 19/20 season. The same as 21/22 season where we almost did quadruple. The season that just ended, we actually did well with bench and academy players but as soon as key players back from injury, we lost the stability and unpredictability. Opponents read our games and our key players are too predictable. As long as they contain our players and don't give too much spaces, they are always ready to pounce and cut through our defence like butter.

We still score the same amount of goals as we did with Mané. The difference is that we aren’t relying on our wingers (Mané and Salah) to score. But the whole team gets into those scoring situations. F.e. our 99pts title winning season we scored a total of 85 goals while we scored 86 this season. Back then we had Mané on 18 and Salah on 19, Firmino scored 9 aswell and that’s it. Now we have Salah still on 18 but we also have Darwin on 11, Jota on 10, Lucho and Cody on 8, Macca on 5. It looks like we didn’t replace the goals because there’s not one player getting all of them, but when you actually look at it we have replaced his goals but it’s just split between our players and more balanced. Which is a positive because the goals can come from anywhere which adds unpredictability. Our goals come from everywhere instead of just our front three. The actual struggle is the defense, we’re conceding more and not getting enough clean sheets. And yes we’ve missed lots of big chances and could’ve had a ridiculous goal tally but it’s not like we’re not scoring a lot. We need more control instead of chaos which would resolve our defensive issues. Yes, it wouldn’t be as exciting to watch but that’s how you keep your players fit and win titles. Less transitional chaos and more patient and controlled build up play.
