his critizism is valid tho, his weakness is if he is being double marked, fortunately klopp gave jorginho lots of space and time to pass, it reminds me of xhaka, very weak on ball retention but once you let him with the ball, he will pinging the ball everywhere accurately
@@busetgadapetif you think Jorginho is bad with ball retention, you don’t know football. You don’t win a Euro and a CL being a key midfielder, if you’re weak in that area. His flaws are only physical.
One thing you completely overlooked is the role Kiwior played in destabilising Liverpool's plan to exploit the LB route like they did in the last two matches. Because of Zinchenko's defensive weakness, most teams' game plan is to send long balls over Zinchenko and then square it or score directly. But Arteta noticed this during the first half and brought in Kiwior who is a taller and much better defensive player. That way, they couldn't exploit that weakness again and were left without a plan B.
@@loveadeola I only got to find out after the match, too, as it wasn't initially clear why the sub was made. Arteta talked about it in his post-match interview, that Zinny felt something in his calf.
@@chidubemnjoku9821Arteta is also very smooth, it could've been a tactical decision masked as forced, he has played down his own decisions like this before
the thing we missed the most is Szobo's ability to cruise through the midfield with his through passes or 1-2s with Mac Allister. Let's be honest we couldn't get past Rice & Jorginho without long pass. Szobo even played the double pivot. Shame on some of our fans who think Szoboszlai isn't influencial.

There's something that Havertz does, I can't really put my finger on. On the surface, you can easily get frustrated with him, but there's something there that makes me feel comfortable when he's playing. I'll come back to this when I have figured out what it is.
Not to mention how many times he was caught on his heels when crosses came into the box, didn't react to any of them. But I guess when the standards are so low a player doing the minimum makes a performance "superb".
@@charles9489 what a joke of a comment. "minimum?" he caused so much trouble for the konate-van dijk duo that one got sent off and another just fucking crumbled. keep hating you dubmfuck we took 3 points today

@@HufflepuffDaddyLiverpool wanted a destroyer. When they couldn't get him, they played Szoboszlai & Mac Allister as double pivot. Because Szoboszlai is fast, he covers both the CDM area & CAM area. Gravenberch can't do neither
@@liverpool-YNWA-mwmi28 good for you. It still doesn't take away from the fact that last summer Lpool made an 11th hour bid for Caceido of approx £110m, a bid we foolishly out bid and that Caceido was indeed a Lpool target, ludicrous price and all.
Gravy is not ready to be a starter for our team. Missing Szobo mean we lost a key engine in our press and defense that Gravy will just not cut it in these high pressure matches
This is the first game Arteta employed 4-2-4. I think Arteta understands now that playing big match is difficult to playing lower team. Against lower team Arsenal usually played 433 wich convert to 325 with zinchenko inverting and 2 cm puch up to make front 5. This tactic is great at pinning opponents in front of their goal and if the ball is loss the positional play of player overload can recover the ball with intense pressing. But against Liverpool the past month shows that this pep tactic in this day can be counter with quality calm player playing out of press and pinning opponents so the winger can 1v1 is counter by many team doubling up against martinelli and saka and silent them. This game 424 lack pinning opponents infront of their goals and control possession but it gains in penetration and faster play in transition. That is what Arsenal lacked in game against Villa. Arsenal obsession with control made them bad at playing through ball through the channel but this game is the first game that Arteta take full advantage of faster play and more dangerous penetration.
ngl the way arsenal played yesterday was different and efficient, i dont watch arsenal i only watch liverpools games, but when we played the fa cup arsenals play was possessing the ball, and trying to get through from the sides, whihc was bad ; or didnt work well. But yesterday they played faster and direct, they were even shooting from outside the box which they didnt do in the fa cup game , they tricked us ; they were way focused and took advantage of the gifts we gave them. well done arsenal ! i hope we keep winning, because city is certainly coming and they wont stop
All 2023 signings for Arsenal (bar Timber) played crucial roles in this win Jorginho put in a MOTM performance, Trossard scored the clincher, Kiwior assisted Trossard’s goal, Havertz was incredibly effective as a false 9 and Rice was a monster in the middle of the park
Endo was our most important midfielder before he left for the national team and is essential part of our team as he breaks the opponent's legs, takes the ball and then makes a pass that go through the lines and thats how our many attacks starts, he is also very press resistant, but in general Szoboszlai is by far our most important player in the midfield and especially our RB and RW needs him. Then, Bradley has been our most important player lately and would have 100% guarantee started because Trent, who started the game, was only half-fit. We didn't have a LB, just half fit Robbo on the bench as he was 3 months out and although Gomez is a good player, he can't do the same things as Robbo or Tsimikas, and I mean especially offensively, he is CB who can play as RB or LB if there's no other options available. As a CB, he is 4th option, behind Van Dijk, Konate and Matip. Thiago who came in from the bench is our 8th or maybe 9th option for midfield at the moment, he played his previous game about 280 days ago and he isnt even close to be fit. Gravenberch is our 7th option at the moment who played the role which is sealed to our number 1 midfielder, Szoboszlai and he werent able to do it. Macca was 2nd option to DM as he isnt capable of doing same things as Endo. Only normal starter in our midfield for this game was Jones. LB was 3rd option, RB at the moment was 2nd option. We dont have player to replace Salah as no other player is natural RW, they are strikers or left wingers and his goal contribution is 22 anyway in the premier league, he is by far our most important attacker. Our only fit players on the bench were Nunez and Elliot and I am not 100% sure if Nunez was fully fit, he had some problems with his leg earlier. Klopp is one of the best coaches ever and he is the best in game coach in the world, but he cant do much with those options as he is still human, not magician.
the role intended for Bradley was given to TAA, which didn't suit him well and he looked off pace as he just came from injury. Gakpo and Gravenberch were so non existent it felt like we played with 9 men, they don't attack or defend ehich is so frustrating. All 3 Arsenal goals came from defensive blunders, which we usually aren't accustomed nowadays. City vs Liverpool will potentially decide the title
I would love to hear your expert analysis of Liverpools wonderful clean goal 🤣 Trossard’s goal didn’t come from a blunder he totally destroyed VVD and Saka’s goal wasn’t from a blunder? Liverpool got totally annihilated by Arsenal! Easy win for what was supposed to be a top of the table clash. Arsenal away at City will decide the title.
@@Human_Harvest Trossard destroyed VVD🤣🤣, what! Elliot left Trossard and and left a huge space and even then Allison should have saved it. ya all think u r going to win shit, u won't. It's either City or Liverpool
@@akramfaysal786 not his strong point but ya all exaggerate it. Trippier, Gvardiol, James, White, Zinichenko and even Walker at times have been rinsed but yeah it has to be TAA that is always the headline despite him being a better footballer by a country mile from each one of them. Nostalgia!
Klopp fielded the wrong players. Ryan, Gakpo and Trent should not be in the linesup. However, Klopp had little option against Arsenal. If Szobo and Bradley were in and Trent at midfield and Munez first XI, the game would be the other way.
Finally vindication for Havertz and by extension an explanation of what Firmino did for Klopp for so long which other fans simply did not understand!! It was an excellent performance by Arsenal although somewhat disappointing against a significantly weakened Liverpool line up - shorn of Szoboszlai, Salah, Robertson, Bradley and Núnez from their starting IX. I was hoping that Arsenal would flood Liverpool relentlessly but they were more cute and played reactively affording them space and looking to counter attack at pace. (Premier League winning teams ought to try to be more than Leicester City circa 2016 though.😉) Arteta did very well on Sunday, especially with pushing Jorginho up to press Mac Allister. However, his players had significantly fresher legs so this was always going to be an easier match for them whilst also playing at home. It is a little too simplistic to say that Klopp did not manage his tactics well, especially when Liverpool caused Arsenal some serious trouble at the beginning of the 2nd half. Unfortunately for Liverpool fans, their team had played 3 more games than Arsenal had over the same period so did not have as much energy.
Fairplay to Mikel and his boys for making sure i put on a paper bag on top of my head as i head to the office on a Monday I'm not looking forward too. Our defence parted like the red sea in the process making Alisson look like a Sunday league goalkeeper especially the third goal Van Dijk again just lets Trossard have so much space in the process slots it through Alisson's legs. Epitome of shameless from Liverpool. Trent again I'll always publicly defend him but in my heart the man just simply can't defend he just cant. Gravenberch is a struggle for me totally absent but i wont write him off he's young. We move on anyways ❤
@@thabisosamsam6779 Fax , ain't about the age , he's been great for you guys this season but yep these players doing dumb mistakes in such big games will cost you points , with man city having 2 games in hand , the title race is cooking
We were outplayed in this match simple as that. We should of done better and we know we can do better but it was going to happen eventually! We'll just get our heads together for the next match and focus!
We were missing very key players : Salah, Endo (yes Endo), Szoboslei, Bradley (yes Bradley) with other key players not match fit: Trent, Robertson, Thiago. Oh and Nunez played a bit with a swollen foot (as substitute). Arsenal fans know without the above issues, its a very different game (which Arsenal could have still won, but NOT dominated like they did). Y.N.W.A
I didn't feel like Arsenal 'dominated' last night. They were the better team, of course, but they didn't look like scoring prior to Van Dijk's mistake. It felt scruffy and like it was gonna be 1-1 before that as Liverpool also didn't look like they were gonna score with how poor they were offensively.
When he didn't even build a full team of his own yet with depth? Talk about Klopp's first few years then. Mind you he had world class Salah at his call and beckon later on that easily won him plenty of games
It was simple, whole right side of Liverpool team was off the mark. Gravenberch was the main culprit since still doesn't know how to play Klopps triangles. Also attack was setup wrong. And once more refereeing was shitshow.
I'm a Liverpool fan and I'm watching this today. Couldn't afford to watch it after the game coz it was too painful to understand how we were outclassed, outplayed, dominated, suffocated, restricted in every possible sense
I don’t understand why klopp didn’t have gravenberch dropping back to support trent. It doesn’t look like hes needed to create an overload and ends up stuck in no man’s land.
Its Gravenberch's Fault not klopp. Iv been watching him closey for a few games now and realized that he sucks at trying to Track back or win back position, the moment i saw him in the lineup i knew would loose
Not in terms of possession becoz arsenal were leading the game for most part but sheer amount of attacking opportunities arsenal clearly dominated... Liverpool had 1 shot on target the entire game... On xg the game was 3.71 - 0.41 to arsenal..... That's the highest amount of xg Liverpool have conceded in the history of premier league
Nope. Arsenal were just better tactically and they were better all round. You use the term “shot themselves” if it’s a match where Liverpool won against Arsenal in the FA cup match where Arsenal could have put that match to bed in the first half. That’s what I call “shot them selfs”. It was men vs boys today
When liverpool missed sobo and endo the midfield be to soft no legs. Salah can give arsenal defensiv problem and we missed bradley he give martinelli more problems.
Media was sleeping on Arsenal all this time. Hope they are awake now. What a great tactical game Arsenal played. They cut off all space for Liverpool forwards to run behind. Liverpool, the most potent team in the league didn't lay a glove on them. They could not touch them. And for Arsenal to beat Liverpool 3-0 while playing without a striker and a rookie centre back as a fullback is remarkable. Jorginho just controlled that midfield. Not sure why Chelsea let him go. I want Klopp to win it one last time before he leaves. But this Arsenal team man. They are becoming a scary unit - incredible attacking power and insane tactical defense. They will be winning lot of leagues in coming years.
Hahahaha yeah, sure, you got it boss. Your manager is incredible as well. Not saying Liverpool deserved to win, but arsenal was given 3 not took 3. Don't kid yourself.
@@kingjohnny9532 I can’t see it. Did you see how organised and tactically brilliant they were? If they can give Liverpool that kind of footballing lesson, then they can swat the bottom 12-13 teams with ease. They will go on a long winning run. They even beat City.
@@KamleshMallick you need to win games, for example, now Liverpool has 4 "easy games", games that they need to win, every game is 3 points, so you need to win the games, and football isn't math. Arsenal is 3 points behind City and has to face them in the Ethiad, once again the favorites are City, the second, is Liverpool, and the third is Arsenal.
Liverpool CBs aren't good at line break passing. Arsenal were aggressive pressing VVD and konate which means Jones and gravenberch have lot of space and time to receive pass from their CBs. VVD and konate can make chip balls to Jones or gravenberch for easy build up. Both kloop and the players didn't adapt to overcome Arsenal pressing system.
You certainly were very generous with the rating for herr Klopp. Shockingly poor shooting stats and surprising inability to tweak his tactics when it mattered made it look like a 3.0 rating. The lineup was poor from the first kick and Liverpool never really recovered from that.
I mean it clearly wasn't Liverpool's best 11 at kickoff, but you don't know what factors might contribute to that. Liverpool were just shockingly passive, which is unusual for them but they deserved to lose. Not sure how much you can put on Klopp when the players just froze.
Liverpool game is based press but quality teams like city and arsenal can beat the press that is the problem because Liverpool defenders are not good one on one defending except van dijk
The only reason how Arsenal broke Liverpool was because Arsenal were playing against a tired Liverpool squad who were in all competition playing 8 games since last week of December while Arsenal were only 3 games in the whole momth of January. So to call it broke Liverpool is an understatememt and literally taking things out of context.
I couldn't watch the whole thing. Did they talk about Liverpool cdm and how ineffective he was. Bellingham, rice, caicaido, lavia...we just couldn't get the cdm we wanted, Macalister is a center mid. He's too small to be a cdm. I wonder if Klopp is leaving because he couldn't get the players he needed 🤔
@@Mattbriggs85 I back Nunez, Just don't see it with Gakkers and obviously not Graf, you lot Arsenal are fantastic man, its a 4 team league and its amazing
fucking Gravenberch is non existent, doesn't defend or attack.I knew from the beginning that when these 2 started we will have problems. Bradley is so much needed for the rest of the season and TAA should play RMF when Szobo isn't playing. no more of these 2 useless dutches unless in europa league
@@ASBsweeti think Gakpos best position is on left half space and Klopp plays him everywhere but left side.also he doesn't track back like Diaz, Nunez etc for pressing.
This is what Xavi should be learning. TG he will leave at the end of the season. Barcelona doesn't need a 4-3-3 formation to win every game. He has to be flexible with his tactics a little bit. All the top coaches I know adapt in big matches by changing their formation and tactics before the game or they do that during the game. Xavi Knows nothing about this.
After this game Liverpool will drop lots of points because of how Arsenal exposed them. Their press was risky but gave all sort of troubles to liverpool back line.
We're only as good as r next win, lets try and make that happen; 15matches t go so ee need t keep a steady head and not get above rselves. Keep focused.
And one thing I have really payed close attention to, the counter attack teams, when you decide to give them the ball and give them a taste of their own medicine they always crumble. Liverpool, Bayern and Real Madrid especially this season have been victims. Examples are what Arsenal did today to Liverpool, what Frankfurt did to Bayern in the Bundesliga and how Atletico Madrid has frustrated Real Madrid all season. Arsenal, Atletico and Frankfurt sat deep and punished Liverpool, Bayern and Real respectively.
This isn't true madrird don't have militao or courtois making it much easier that weren't counter attacked like that last season. Edit: Alectico has not frustrated us at all they beat us twice we beat them once and almost beat them today
I don't know why Arteta never lets Arsenal play counter-attacking football regularly. We have one of the most deadly counter-attacking styles in the game.
I'm a Pool fan, but I take my hat off. This performance will be enough for the PL championship. Unfortunately, we only have Klopp, who does not understand high-level football and buys lame footballers.
Gravenberg andJones are not great players and mediocre in attack, Gapko is still adapting to PL football, Gomez is mediocre on the ball. Without Salah they lose a lot of quality. This is not about tactics, it is about quality. Rice and Odegaard are top midfielders, Jorghino had a good day, Saka and Martinelli are among the better wingers, so Liverpool will be strectched from the beginning. Central defense Arsenal have a good duo. But Arsenal has little scoring power. A game destined to end 0-0 or 1-0 for Arsenal. Would have if it weren’t for the blunders of the goalkeepers.
I feel like Klopp got his team selection badly, although he had injuries to deal with. However Arsenal dominated and should have have arguably won the last two times they played.
On the bench was Thiago, who had last played about 280 days ago, Robbo, who was injured for 3 months, so the only fit players on the bench were Nunez and Elliot.
Klopp really got this game wrong, and tho arsenal deserved the win, the 2 goals conceded in 2nd half just feel like a gift where the manager isnt really at fault

Liverpool was awful, that midfield is not for big games , nunez salah sobo, end and free TAA weren't there. Otherwise the manager decision didn't make it easy for the squad. I will never play in that way against an excellent attacking team, letting Arnold on rb necessitate konate to move to help him and opening a gap between 2 defenders .
Easy win for Arsenal! Liverpool got absolutely battered for the entire game! And this was supposed to be a top of the table clash? It was so one sided it was ridiculous.
Nahh you just lost me when you said this about havertz "you could just tell he was never going to finish that" I don't think we win this game without havertz
