noticed from every matches in pre-season + wolves, Nicolas Jover definitely got more variety in his set-pieces strategy. we no longer see Ben White "disrupting" the GK anymore in those matches. which is hiilarious for me because when the new blocking rules started to become a conversation, Mikel Arteta's Arsenal and Nicolas Jover are already moved forward.
People seem to forget havertz is only 25 and talk about him like he's the finished article, he still has room to learn and improve, much like most of the squad.
Rice's weakest area is progressive passing. I think when he is a 6 they will either go for a 2-3 buildup with 2 inverted wing backs OR a 3-2 buildup where he splits the central defenders and act as a half back
Honestly I don't understand how people are talking about Rice. He made his name playing as cdm for England and West Ham , no apparently he isn't good enough to play there
Different clubs/teams require different skills for different position. For example Poldoski is a striker for Koln. But when he goes to Arsenal he is put out wide (probably due to his good speed but less than stellar first touch) Being good for one team does not automatically translate to being good for another team.
Rice's role at West Ham was more of a disruptor. A player who can breakdown attacks and provide defensive cover for the back four. But for Arsenal, our style of play demands that our 6 be a ball-playing midfielder who can play passes between the lines and serve as a lone anchor for the midfield (like Partey). It would take time for him to adapt into that role, as it also took Partey two seasons to transition into that role from a double pivot with Grannit Xhaka.
Playing there for a ball dominat team and playing there for west ham is not the same. We can physically dominatebthe midfield with rice in the team as a box to box. But the 6 position is this arsenal team, is a dlp not a cdm.
Reading these responses makes me happy. I'm just glad there are Arsenal fans out there who understand the technical/tactical side of football. Partey and Jorginho style of play is different from Declan's. Declan is a destroyer, not a play maker. He will finish his career playing as a center back.
Great analysis! Arteta’s tactical evolution at Arsenal is truly remarkable this season. The shift between formations and the emphasis on tactical flexibility have made the team more unpredictable and dangerous. The defensive solidity combined with the new attacking options and set-piece mastery highlights the strategic depth of Arteta’s approach. It’s fascinating to see how players like Declan Rice and Kai Havertz are being utilized to maximize Arsenal’s goal-scoring potential. Looking forward to seeing how these tactics continue to unfold throughout the season!
I think we'll see tactical rotation from time to time between gabriel and califior. We really could of done with his ability on the ball against bayern
Arteta is obsessed with physicality and technique. Very soon, Arsenal will have the tallest starting 11. Some best technical players, pacy duel winning defenders. In short, his dream team is almost ready.
This idea declan rice cant play 6 for us is so silly and so obviously based in assumption without watching us play. Many of our best performances last season came with declan at the 6. The only reason we moved away from it pver the season is because with timber and zinchenko not playing we lacked a bit of ball progression so added jorginho in. But with calafiori, timber, white and zinchenko now we have plenty of ball progression so we can go back to what was always the plan for declan.
As long as zinchenko is playing left back he is a liability in his defending every game he plays the other team have at least chance of a goal by lobbing it over his head showing he has no pace i think this outways his forward play
@statmandaveNo one replace a fit partey the best 6 in the world when fit No one on Arsenal team young man wish I had book mark your video not even your favourite rice !!! Just remember that young man talking nonsense a year ago and if we sign merino he and rice battle for the 8 role know that ok I’ll teach you about football and not be bias ok young man
If Arsenal sign Merino I think they have a slight advantage because of the uncertainty in the wide areas for Man City. Saying that, I still can't look past it whilst Guardiola is still the manager, man is a winning freak.
13:14: When you say "El Sociedad" (over and over throughout the video), do you mean Real Sociedad? And who is "Miko Moreno"? It's bizarre, because you can read Ødegaard but you can't read Merino.
You talked bout adding Merino but in 17:50, we have 12 players on the pitch. Dont think we can have that many. For Merino to come, we will have to lose Partey, and play DRice in that position. Dont try to fool us by having DR, TP, and MM in the same team bruh
think that'll be fine, Partet has proved not to be reliable as he's constantly injured long term so having another midifielder may give Partey a chance to actuallly get more time without being injured
@@MichaelNnnachetam i hope so too , apparently the team will be trying new things this season to get out of trouble if it happens (according to Mikel himself).
Yes ARSENAL are well set. and i think they'll be unbeatable if they bring in Merino. and as far as a cover for Saka is required Jesus can provide that, he did play there when Guardiola did not wanna use Mahrez
Who cares about the pronounciation honestly ? It's irrelevant and It's not that deep. Im sure people in spain can't pronounce certain names in english correctly.
Arsenal needs a striker, a good attacking full back, a cover for the midfield and a cover for Saka. As good as they are now, they need more players to end City's dominance of the Premier League.
