Timber and califiori on the left means that either can step up into the box and either can hold down as the second center back, which can help create some great deception. Def a rotation to watch for in the second half of tight games.
@@johannperera200 exactly. And Calafiori is as good in high press situations as Timber is in dashing back. Offensively I like how Timber can operate in tight spaces between the lines.
Anyone noticed how preseason has focused a lot of the left hand side, with Rice collecting wide running in and combining with the wide player to attack the half space, including cut backs, crosses and shots; to me it seems like it’s all preparation for Merino to adapt quickly
So evolved are the tactics from last season, that it might be influencing the reduced recruitment this summer? Arteta & the squad have a strong grasp of each strengths, so new roles based upon the previous tactics learnt, provide experience & trust for some really exciting innovations this season! Fantastic analysis & hopefully the squad & we can enjoy witnessing free-flowing & creative total football. I would love to learn about Cesc Fabregas tactics & philosophy for Como FC, to understand how he is developing his tactical strategy, in a separate video!
Bro we finally need a video about Vincent Kompany and his new Bayern Munich. The games against Tottenham were really promising. I expect much of them this season
@@elozinoemeovrode9779 Tottenham I see top 4 in the pl this year, so that Bayern dominate them this much is very interesting. Also they usually have big possession even against good teams but Bayern managed to always press them and had 60% possession

Think you missed mentioning the absolute number of air balls thrown at Saka expected to score a header against Lyon. Capitalizing on the player's physicality beyond corners.
Arteta's new tactic is a result of the games we played against Porto and, to a lesser degree, bayern munich. Porto really exposed us last season with the way they crowded the midfield and dared our defenders to control the game.
That is if Liverpool just sit and watch. Don’t forget they regret slipping toward the end of last season, and they're coming back with hunger with a new coach who is quite good
Now the merino transfer makes sense in terms of heading in those crosses, and also helping left footed cutbacks. And freeing up Rice to sit in that spot outside the box to unleash his long shooting ability
Good breakdown. I'll definitely be looking out for shots outside the box. And yes I think with whatever business we have left to do in the transfer market will bring us the league this year.
Could you do a quick video over all the big 6 teams maybe also the Laliga teams where you explain how they’ve been playing in the pre season. Each team could have maybe 3minutes of you explaining how they play, i think it would be a great video idea :)
Insightful analysis of Arteta’s evolving tactical approach at Arsenal. The emphasis on fluid midfield rotations and Declan Rice’s advanced role is particularly intriguing. Arteta’s strategy of exploiting the half-spaces and using deep runs could indeed unlock new dimensions in Arsenal’s attack this season. It’s clear that Arsenal is gearing up to challenge Man City with a more dynamic and unpredictable playstyle. Coaches looking to refine their offensive strategies can learn a lot from this breakdown.
Arsenal have some of the best finishers from just outside the box - Trossard particularly but Ødegaard, Saka, Zinchenko and even Rice can all do it pretty well
It's a lot of underlapping runs and squeezing the ball through the middle more times than overlapping and wide play this season, that way they become less predictable. Good coaches evolves, Arteta is good.
passing the ball in the box or outside the box based on the opponent midfielders position is very good and i've never realized that before. if they drop inside the box they leaves lot of space outside the box, while if they stay outside the box theres a hallway between the defenders and the midfielders
Very good video however, Timber should be mentioned, he will be extremely key this season. Understand he is coming back from a crazy injury but that is a player who is available across the back 4. He will play a vital part this season
we‘ve also seen many late runs to the edge of the box at the euros that finished off these cutbacks olmos goal against germany is a good example for those late runs into the box so we can see arteta adapting some of the euros tactics
This is a serious dilemma when defending, tell your strikers to drop really deep to cover front of box and have no one to counter with or leave it free and get hammered with long shots and corners or tell midfielders to wait at the edge and risk being outnumbered in the box! Def the downside is arsenal will be so open on counters like Barca Chelsea 2012
Ive noticed Saka seems to be crasjing the box more this pre season, usng his head a lot more, not sure if it just happened or is part of the game plan. have a feeling its something we will see a lot more of
I think City was dependent a lot on Gundogans (and last season Rodri) shoots from the edge on cutbakcs especially. So nothing new especially with teams setting up defensively against Arsenal
Great vid. I like the way arteta create overloads in midfielders and make use of the halfspaces as they break the opposition line and begin attack quickly. I am an Arsenal fan though and I hope the 21 year wait for a Premier League will come😁
Hi @FootballMeta, great video's! I have been going through a lot of them. I wish I have discovered them sooner. Your rresentation is clear and great to follow. I am a coach myself at a local football club and use your video's as inspiration to develop my own vision and playstyle. Could you pick a team with lesser players and do an analysis on that? Because I am curious how to implement tactics with a lesser team playing a better team. As a coach I don't have a transfer budget ;) and I work with the players assigned to my team. Nevertheless, keep going with your great work! I subscribed and waiting for you next analysis.
I think that this yet if there will be no injury then arsenal can win the league because they have good depth in their squad and the like of saka trosard and odegard will score lot of goal and white will have many assist
I don't think they can replace Gabriel in the lineup. He scores most of their set piece goals last year and many of those were the key goal in opening up the games.
I can't wait to have merino, Gabriel, Saliba, White and Havertz in the box for these set pieces... defenders will see fire..I pity the short butcher 🤣🤣🤣 Oh I forgot Calafiori
last year when Arsenal signed timber a lot them said it would be a game changer for Arteta but unfortunately injury . But now with Calafiori looking really difficult what Arteta will do . What your opinion .I think Arsenal will be mor stable with timber-Calafiori-Saliba-White with this Arteta can use calafiori like pep used Joh Stones and more over Calafiori is much more comfortable on ball than gabriel .What your thought?
The only thing I might have liked to see in addition to this insightful and still understandable analysis of how Arsenal will likely play is: how will, should, or could the opponents counter this.
Usually through man marking the runs and covering better passing lanes, almost like italian zonal tactics of back 3s in which you don't press high and double the marks in midfield. But at that point it turns into a game like basketball where all mans are taken and you just try to create space throughout a combination of movement and dribbling when playing from the back.
Shots from outside the box have a low probability of success. They are useful, but if the box is full, like in the Bayer example, it is more likely to get blocked.
Squad is still thin in top quality plsyers who are likely to remain fit compto City. But looking forward to it. Too many games but we will evolve and be better.
Can you work on a tactical analysis of Manchester United in preseason and in the community shield against what to expect from them this season? Cheers mate
F**** You are intelligent in this field. Now other teams will start to try and find solutions for this new tactics. I’ll just enjoy my Arsenal now as much as i can.
Dude, it's funny that "frontal area" has been forgotten and I always thought that teams that play well are the ones who achieve to place players on that position.
Home games they lost is what cost them a team as good as Arsenal should really be going unbeaten at home like what city did. Away games are tougher so cant expect to stay unbeaten in that or gain as much points at home. you should still do well in them too obviously.
