Beterbiev is bigger. Beter has a much bigger head, bigger bones, and thicker muscles. Biv rehydrates to 185 max per his trainer. Bet looks like he puts on 20 pounds to 195. Bet will have 10 pound weight advantage on fight night

Beterbiev's performance lately has been improving, even though he is already 40 years old. He finished off prime Gvozdyk, a very good complete boxer. As well as Callum Smith, Callum Johnson, Browne, Smith Jr., Yarde, these are very good boxers who had never been knocked out in their boxing careers.

People were saying the same things about Gvozdyk vs Beterbiev that they are saying now against Bivol.. He's a better boxer, he will outpoint him.. And that didn't end well for him, did it? I'd say Gvozdyk is somewhat comparable to Bivol in style, skillset and power. You never know what'll happen in boxing, but i'm taking the safe route and picking Beterbiev on this one (And any other of his fights i've ever followed, lol). One thing that for me is missing with Bivol is knowing when to turn it up. He plays it safe too often and i'm not sure that'll work out against someone of Beterbiev's level and determination.

Bivol is very unorthodox for Soviet style, it's pretty specific St Petersburg school of boxing with Bivols own unique style, neither Usyk ore Gvozdyk fights similar to him, Bivol much more heavy handed then people giving him credit, most of he's opponents stops coming forward aggressively after few rounds, Beterbiev get hits a lot and to come to Bivol he will need to take risks and can walk in to heavy right hands, I think Bivol will beat him easier then everyone thinks.

Only boxers i know of are Floyd, Fury, and AJ but left a like and played the video for the algorithm.

You are spot on about the jab counter. But Also bivol lack inside game and dont know how to fight in the Clinch well. Beterbiev is dangerous even in the clinch and with his wrestling knowledge and physical strenght he can control you very well and land shots.

Usyk and Bivol fight completely different. The comparison is similar to James Toney and Floyd Mayweather. There is no comparison really outside of surface level. Saying one is better than the other is ill-informed

I think if Beterbiev wins it will be the glancing shots while Bivol is sidestepping. Arthur will lunge at Bivol and Bivol will go back and around to not get caught and a big hook from Beterbiev will be just enough, even if it doesn't land flush. I think Bivol has what it takes to outbox Beterbiev with movement and athleticism, but if they were the same age there is no way I'm going with Bivol.

The only reason bivol beat Canelo was because of his size advantage. Canelo was able to get him the ropes on several occasions and land. If he backs up onto the ropes against Beterbiev, its game over

I remember Browne one of the most feared dirty power puncher of LHW he fought Beterbeiv and head butted artur a huge cut in the head of Beterbiev but Browne pay the price he was knockout and suffered a broken ribs.

⁠why has nobody mentioned that beterbiev has been knocked down twice?!! I would like some analysis on what mistake he made to get knocked down.

I am also predicting a KO win for beterbiev. I have seen a lot of people say that bivol will try to press beterbiev when he takes breaks or whatever to tray to back him up. that will be a massive mistake. beterbiev wants guys to come to him but also his heavy handedness, he doesnt need a big setup or to be planted and even if he is tired his punches are always thudding, even late rounds. So if bivol thinks he can jump on him to try to tire him out he will get caught with some counters that will have more power than expected. beterbiev doesnt need much room or extension on his shots. beter can hurt/stun you with a right jab from the southpaw stance, that is just how he is. that strategy of not allowing guys to get set, which is a great strategy a lot of times, it isnt full proof with beterbiev he dont need to be set to hurt you

You forgot Beterbiev's body works. If the opponent is moving too much, Beterbiev goes to the body to slow him down (examples: Gvozdyk, Browne)

I’m not a huge boxing fan but have always been a fan of Dimitry Bivol, he’s boxing style has always been so fascinating and so clean. I’ll be cheering for him in this one, he genuinely makes me enjoy boxing, where otherwise I’m eh on it.

I don’t think Usyk and Bivol have a similar style at all really. Usyk is much more on the front foot than Bivol and he slips his head far more. Usyk uses more hooks and uppercuts while Bivol is more back and forth motion mostly using the jab and uses his feet first to react to punches instead of slipping. But with like 280 amateur bouts I’m sure there were boxers similar to Bivol that Beterbiev beat. I’m slightly going with Bivol because of age and Beterbievs some times sloppy rush in punching that ends him up southpaw quite frequently.

Only thing worried me is artur's knee injury.. thats a meniscus tear... you dont recover on that type of injury in just a couple of months.. athletes even took a year off for surgery and rehab to get peak performance.. and now he dealing one of the best footworkss in boxing against bivol

my prediction is bivol and i am rooting for him but ill admit, if beterbiev does win, i think he will win by KO. i also think that even if bivol does win the fight, i wouldnt be surprised if he gets dropped once or twice which is exactly why i freaking love this fight

Fight of the decade.

Bivol was not a real champion he was elevated from interim belt to regular champion back in 2016. Bivols last 2 opponent against low quality opponents could not even knockout lyndon artur. It took him 6 round to finished off unknown untested zinad= SHAME

If you all keep calling it 50/50 then you'll be happy with a draw? Beterbiev wont. Hell take over.

Betterbiev does cut the ring well, his jab that he uses to split the opponents jab helps, he uses big steps to cover distance which all works, his inside fighting, using angles to set shots are good but Betterbievs rhythm/tempo starting off is not very developed or sync, meaning setting up his punches & closing distance will be much harder. Most of his opponents make 4 major mistakes that just make it easier for Bivol to work with. 1. Their face is in punching range, nearly all his opponents have their face at punching range and that already makes it easier to hit you. Callum Smiths defensive success was when his head was outside of range. 2. They get flat footed real easily and abandoning fighting with a rhythm and making it easier for Betterbiev to actually close distance since they don’t have the reaction time of Floyd or Boots to react to. 3. The 2nd mistake wouldn’t be a problem is they’d have their hands out. Watching Joe Smith jr bs Betterbiev, I think Joe Smiths minor defensive success he actually had was when his lead hand was out, making it clear that there’s a jab that’s much easier to land if Betterbiev tries to close range. 4. Watching the Yarde fight, Yarde was using a good and slick jab but he never followed up or doubles with the jab and on the retraction off the jab, Betterbiev could close range, forcing Yarde to step back and back up to the ropes. For the first few escapes, Yarde was able to escape but ducking/slipping and escaping but he uses the same head slots when moving his head to escape, allowing Betterbiev to capitalise and getting hit. This forced Yarde to try to stand his ground and throw combos which did work but he never was a a definitely responsible, allowing Betterbiev to split the jab, find counters and start breaking him. Those 4 aspects that I’ve mentioned are the sole basis that Bivols entire defence is about. He’s always just at the edge of your range, where he is just at the edge of your range, uses his Soviet style, using pendulums steps and bounces on his feet so he can react accordingly and break your rhythm down with half beat feints which helps defensively to move back/forward and set counters. He has the best lead game imo. Moving it up and down, feints, using up, stiff, body jabs, lead hook, and even doubling it. Bivol also uses a great deal of combos and set counters really easily and follows with combos with it while being defensively responsible and without overextending or fully committing but having stiffness to respect. Watching Zinad vs Bivol, Zinad like Yarde was bladed, flat footed, fought slick and which the jab was at effect, Bivol quickly took advantage of it by slipping off the centre line and splitting it with the jab or cross, then following up with it and breaking him. Betterbiev trying to close distance will be insanely hard because his rhythm/tempo isn’t sync or developed to a state where he can immediately operate on and for someone like Bivol who uses his bounces and lead hand to break rhythms, Betterbiev trying to closing distance will be super hard and if he tries to, he’s bound to make mistakes which Bivol will use counters which Bivol rarely ever overextends and retracts his punches immoderately. His high guard is very good at absorbing punches and even is you can close range Bivol has extended guard to not allow you to close distance and move away.

Beterbiev is not just a berserker with power. I haven't seen ring-cutting ability like his since a young George Foreman. Watch the way George completely cut off Joe Frazier. Beterbiev is very calculated and he's willing to get in the fire to land. He's going to win this fight and make it look easier than you think. Bivol doesn't have great shot resistance and he can't run forever.

One thing as well is that bivol uses the high guard a lot and its one of the tightest guards ive ever seen up to now, no one has really been able to crack through, but i believe beterbiev will be able to

i think people are making a huge miscalculation by using Bivols performance vs Alvarez to judge how Beterbiev will fare. Beterbeiv will not be suffering a big reach or mass/stregth disadvantage and he will be doing more damage with much less expended effort than Alvarez. Beterbiev will not be thrown off balance from Bivols shoves and lance jabs like Alvarez was. Bivol will NOT be able to fight Beterbiev like he fought Alvarez, ...if he does...he will lose decisively.

The big question is can Bivol pressure Beterbiev to the ropes? Perhaps, should he pressure Beterbiev to the ropes? No way.
