During interview,Duran said he didn't look at Neuer. But he know Neuer often come out far based from pre match briefing which unai is famous for preparing the team for. The players often watch long clips of opponent and long briefing from unai and coaches.

Thanks for your analysis. I did feel that what Unai did was planned right down to the detail. When Barkley came in, he successfully turned and broke past his martker and it open up a potentially big chance, but somehow it did not materialize. I believe Unai knew and tried to do something right there. His other sub, Ian Maatsen also did something that created something close as well. But i did not have the benefit of analysing there to understand what actually happened on those 2 occasions. Ultimately i feel that while it was 0-0, it was Bayern's wanting to continue to push for the win that caused them the defeat because it played directly into Villa's hands and was exactly what Unai was looking for those openings to exploit that chance.

Upamecano fouled Watkins twice, both should have been yellows, he was last man twice, the first was worse than the 2nd. He should have been sent off if the ref had a spine.

Insane that Upemacano didnt get sent off, Watkins absolutely bullied him all game, couldnt mark him at all.

With the duran goal you can see how much Bayern have dropped off. No pressing, all over the place positionally.

I think Duran was looking over his shoulder to take in if he had a defender in front of him and where the goal actually was. Then hits a great shot that beats neuer but even if neuer had been further Duran is taking a shot there. He lives to shoot.

One of the main reasons for this result is the inability of Bayern to convert their chances. Gnabry could have laid the ball off on two occasions or been a bit more clinical when he appeared by his lonesome in front of Martinez' goal. And spare me the praise for the keeper, though he is a verry good one, most of the shots were far to central to bother him much. Villa played to their strength and scored on one of the few chances they had. So well done. Nothing more. Bayern wins ths contest 8 or 9 times out of ten. But to do that you need to be clinical in front of goal.

Yeahh, well played for Aston Villa, and i knew it was coming. Unai Emery done the same exact thing when he was at Villareal and faced FC Bayern. FC Bayern cant play this suicide tactics... They are not Man City. They dont have the likes of Walker, Stones, Akanji, Gvardiol, Ruben Dias as their CBs they have Upamecano, who turns like a truck and always gets bullied by fast strikers... And Kim, which Seria A form since he joined Bayern have not been seen... Unai Emery perfectly exploited their weakness and Kompany tactics... To fix this, Kompany needs to start Palhinha. When he got into pitch(thats where Aston Villa scored btw...) the game after they went 1 - 0 down felt already better in the midfield. Kompany has to use a back 3 next time. He needs to use 1 CDM to stay back and drop between those CBs to help them out, and use the other CDM to controll the game. Something like a 3 - 3 - 4 shape, unlike the 2 - 4 - 4 shape, which is good if you can convert your chances and you dont care if you concede a goal because you already scored 3 from those 10 chances... Kompany has to adjust couple of things tactically, and needs sort out with the guys the finishing... And the crativity. Bayern always struggled against teams which are defensively compact. Thats also can be fixed by creativity. Musiala, Olise, Gnabry, Kane all have the ability to do that, but there was no connection between the attacking 3rd(Especially in the 1st half). Drastical changes has to be done by Kompany if they want to be in the Champions League final AT HOME IN THE ALLIANZ ARENA. Drastical changes... Kompany has to react to this, he needs to fix this...
