I’m in the hiring process for the fire department at the moment, I’ve known for awhile I wanted to have a job that’s a civil service, I’ve been stressing a little and have been physically training more and more and it’s not easy but these videos really help and Inspire me to push through
I'm training for the fire department right now. I wanted to be a fire fighter for as long as I can remember, but I joined the Marines first. I still have the mindset where you NEED to stay in shape and on top of your game because others lives depend on YOU. I remember in the Marines no matter how much you hated the guy next to you, or how much he hated you, when it came down to it he had your back 110%.
That mindset will serve you well. There are always going to be people you don't particularly care for, BUT, you need to have each other's back regardless. Keep pushing forward and definitely continue to stay in shape. Cardiac issues are the #1 cause of death of Firefighters.
God Bless off the men and woman who have the drive to serve as Fire Freighters. I've been chasing the dream of becoming a Fire Fighter for 3 years now. Just completed Emt and now my sights are on Fire Academy in January. This is a great video.. fuel to my fire to fully get there. God Bless!
I'm a fire fighter been for awhile now I just think the most important part to this job is just to remember that what ever you do it better be great that way in the future you can look back and say I'm proud that I did that. It's better than saying I wish I would have dkne that.
Striving for greatness. I've been trying to get into better shape for a while. I was working out and following my workout plan(body beast). Well right now I've been off 3 weeks. Took more than just my rest day. And it's so hard to get back into. Needed this motivation. Not only will I be going for my firefighter 1 in a year, but I also want to be a police officer. I love this speech, and the video just makes it better. Thank you.
Once you stop it's much harder to start. Just jump back in and you'll be back on schedule in no time. It's definitely easier said than done but hang in there. Either profession is a great one and requires steady determination. One step at a time and you'll get it!
Here's a good question: You go to a traffic accident and have to use the "Jaws of Life" to extricate two patients. One is unconscious, but the other is alert enough to talk. One patient tells you he has Hepatitis C and there is blood all over that place. You know Hepatitis C is transmitted through all body fluids, His blood is everywhere. All over the sharp edges of the car you just cut, and the space is cramped and he keeps reaching for your face because he is scared. His hands are full of blood. You know if his blood gets into your mouth, eyes or cuts, you will get Hepatitis C too. Hepatitis has no cure. What wil you do? Will you stop or help? Those are the real situations that happen all over the place. It ain't just about squirting water, cleaning, training and cooking. It's about dealing with the filth and dirt that no one ever thinks about.
pigjubby1 sorry for my bad english i just want to say that everybody is the same and that you may not choose which one is better then the other person.
Gonna be real for a second, while it’s admirable to help people, using basic precautions is simple and smart. If someone has known hep c, you really shouldn’t let that get close to submucosal. I’m a paramedic and I’ve dealt with every transmittable disease. I won’t let them touch me in ways I can prevent, but I’ll help the hell outta them. Be smart. Not stupid... so my point is... I’ll help, of course! But I ain’t getting that blood anywhere close to me. And you shouldn’t either.. on any patient. That’s why we all wear ppe
Hi Nick, that's great to hear because that's why I created it. It could be better but I was in the Academy myself and trying to capture shots in between revolutions. Just keep pushing forward. It's physically and mentally demanding on some days but it really is worth it in the end!
Tyler, if you are serious about becoming a firefighter, look to see if the County you live in has any Rural FD's. Some of these are volunteer. You volunteer, go through a probie period. Its valuable experience.
Kudos for the Video! Excuse me for chiming in, I would love your opinion. Have you heard the talk about - Rozardner Lucky Interview Reality (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is a good one off guide for firefighter interview tips minus the headache. Ive heard some decent things about it and my mate got excellent success with it.
