Health insurance can be a huge expense, but think twice before you drop it.

I feel like it is a scam anyway, you pay all this money to the insurance company, when it's time for them to help you, it's either, "oh we don't cover that" or "we only cover $1500 of a $42,000 dollar bill" 😐.

I was paying $1700 a month (!) for a family plan so I could get a little bit of discount on occasional visits. Really? Now I’m not paying for any medical insurance and will save all that money for something important.

Health insurance is not full proof. Even with all my coverages I still pay out of pocket no matter the insurance. We need a better system

My aunt who is a nurse couldn't pay for my cousin's medical bills when he got into a bad car accident. She had insurance so wtf is the point if a fuckijg nurse can't pay their medical bills!!!!!!!

High taxes pay for “free healthcare” but yeah it’s better over there for that exact reason.

People always say what if you're in a major accident. Okay let's say you're in a major accident and you've got thousands of dollars in bills. Your health insurance is not going to pay for all of that. At this point they pay for just a small fraction of it. So you're still in debt for thousands of dollars. And I know for a fact that hospitals and collection agencies will actually work with you on payments to get the bill paid off. So as far as getting into an accident or you have thousands of dollars in hospital bills. Even with health insurance, you're still going to have thousands of dollars in hospital bills you have to pay.

My health insurance doesn't covers anything anymore. I paid $900 a year for additional optical and dental on top of regular health insurance..... saved me $50,on my glasses.... (still cost me $760 for my glasses, but wouldn't cover a dime on contact lenses)....... Dental cost me $1000 for 2 filings AFTER insurance coverage. Pregnancy cost me $12,000 out of pocket. And My deductible was only $100. But apparently it doesn't cover unnecessary things like "epidurals" x-rays, ultrasounds, tylenol....Tylenol..... but if I have a heart attack at 30yo at least they'll cover that......

So they are just paying what you give them and pocket the rest and try to give as little as possible?
@RosannasFamilyZannazone_family

@@Xelenteontae_ Yesssss! For 6 years. I paid $850 a month for health insurance, an additional $75 a month for dental and vision. So, in total, I paid $126,000 to health insurance. When I had my daughter she costed about $35,000. $12,000 wasn't covered,... So They made $103,000 off of me (btw, I only made $38K a year)...

They treat you horribly if you don't have insurance, and it doesn't even matter if you are paying with your own money, if you don't have any insurance, they don't want to treat you. It is all about the money - the insurance money for them. Ex. When I use to have dental insurance, my dentist would make sure to take good care of my teeth. He would contact me every six months to remind me to get a check up. Now that I don't have dental insurance, it's like he doesn't really care to provide treatment to me. And I don't get reminders in the mail anymore to go see him for a check up. 😐

So $331 per month which is $3,972 per year for health insurance, or the other option of a $695 per year penalty for no insurance (I live in California)? Am I missing something or is that what the math is like? Also, if you enroll in your company benefits, do they still deduct at minimum 331 per month or is there generally some kind of perk for enrolling in that aspect of benefits your employer may offer?

Obamacare made it so that being fined is cheaper than the actual coverage That said, there’s no reason for healthcare to be super expensive. The medical insurance middleman ruined American healthcare.

And for people with jobs that don’t offer benefits like health insurance they almost make it impossible and a huge hassle to get insurance. It’s BS I don’t get it .

You also dont need CREDIT to survive. And if you get into debt you cant actually pay. Bankruptcy is a good thing not bad. Start clean and get away from all these control systems.

There’s a way to skate through the system without insurance; many indigent people know the tricks. I’ve been in the industry for 30 years, and I learned them myself. I kid you not, I was paying $10,000 per year for my family’s health insurance, and I worked for one of the largest insurer in the nation and I still had a $6000 deductible. do the math. Oh did I mention, I am a nurse. There’s ways to circumvent the system.

@@angeleka8465it's easy. Don't get insurance and file for bankruptcy if something happens. Of coarse you can't own assets when filling though. If you own a house you are kinda screwed which is why I just rent

A $380/mo. plan in Pennsylvania comes with a $8100 deductible and 50% coinsurance for pretty much everything. If I get cancer, I'm just gonna jump out of a plane lol
