Good work. Dealing with the struts on it brought back memories of last year when I rebuilt my 940 front suspension. The strut insert nut was the worst. Got the blowtorch to it and stilsons did the job. Replaced with cheapie RIDEX brand. While apart replaced everything else. Felt so much more tight after.
Another very good video - thank you, this is a really interesting series. The parts bill is inevitably growing quite quickly, it will be interesting to see how much the final bill comes to. Well done. Alan
Thank you glad your enjoying this one, we are gunning for that show, so lets see if we can do it, I will of course let people know how much it costs to get this car back on the road. Cheers for watching.
If you're waiting for parts it might have to be a trailer job for the event, but better to take the time to get it right. Also, better to wait for the right bits rather than re-instal old parts that you know that you are going to need to replace in the very near future. Best wishes.
I am trying my best to not get to that. We want to drive it and it’s possible if all goes to plan. So that’s the aim, trailer is a possible plan B. I am installing Anything back to the car that isn’t up to the job. You will see this in the next episode. Right now we need to get the car running and driving. Thanks for watching.
Could the new spring possibly raise the car considering it’s sat in them for so many years it might have made them less stiff I remember seeing a video of someone with a old mustang and they put lowering springs on it to lower it but due to the springs being original it raised the car slightly but I don’t know how true the video was
I understand what your saying. This one should see much lower as it will have different sprints, and. We shocks etc we’ll basically everything new..thank you for watching 👍
Great video as usual, Marc. These old 240s were such a strong old vehicle and the way that survived such an impact with just a twisted lower arm proves that. I'm so looking forward to seeing where you go with this. I love Whiteland Restorations 240 and I know yours is heading down a different route but will be incredibly cool too. Finally, I've never used the BDX but Furious Driving and Hubnut swear by the stuff too. It's amazing stuff. Looking forward to the next update now 👍
Thanks John, yes the bottom arm has done it’s job and protected the rest of the suspension set up. Yes it’s very different to Whiteland’s volvo that’s for sure but the aim is to get her road legal and enjoy her for now. The BDX stuff is awesome. Next episode coming next week. Thanks for watching as ever 👍
Thanks buddy. Apparently the car slid in some ice or a wet road and hit a curb causing the damage. The car did as it should snd the arm did it’s job. 👍
Must admit I’m guilty of having an impact gun and no impact sockets, but to be honest I have the ryobi as well and I don’t think it has the power to break a socket 😂😂😂😂 compare it to something like Milwaukee and its night and day
