#shorts #music #shortsvideo #beatles How bad was John Lennon’s eyesight? Was he able to see the audience or his bandmates? “John was blind as a bat without his glasses,” George Harrison recalled.
This song he's talking about the human vortex. Everyone's got a glass onion. I had a book about the Beatles recording sessions. Each time they where in the studio, what songs they worked on that day,the paperwork, thier notes from songs they written..the hours, who was there and what each band member contributed. Its was quite the Beatles book. My sister gave it to me when I graduated HS.
@@ADayInTheLifeofMrsPerkins Hey man! i read your wonderful story. I would be joyful if you tell me what the title of the book your sister gave you? PS : you should be happy to have a sister like her.
In the Get Back documentary you hear John make fun of himself. He says something to the effect of ‘masturbating won’t make you blind but it will leave you very shortsighted’
I've always worn wire rims. For some odd reason about 15 years ago they became hard to find. Thankfully now they are back and in several colors (gold, silver, black, grey).
@@dontgoout1434 It's true. He hated wearing glasses and would hold onto the back of one of the guy's from the performance, be it Paul or George, to where someone off stage was waiting for him with his glasses. It's really true!
-8 is pretty bad, but the presumption that it would have progressed as he got older is not necessarily true. i had -6 prescriptions roughly in both eyes up to my 40’s and then they proceeded to get better over time, now i’m at -4.5 and -5 so you never know.
Exactly. As we age, humans in general, get a bit more farsighted. So if you're severely nearsighted, there's a chance your eyesight may improve as you age, but it is unlikely to worsen. This video's information is false in that respect.
The Beatles song *I Should Have Known Better,* Sounds like it's sung like this👉🎶 I Sould'a known better with a girl like you, that I would love every thing that ya' do , and I do🎶 ect.ect. *I happened to be listening to that song* as I was attempting to complement Mr.Lennon *getting so much better all the time.*
If he had lived on, he probably would have had laser surgery to correct his short-sightedness. This is purely conjecture, because he was taken from us at such a young age. He did not have a chance to get his vision corrected by state of the art means.
@@davidhopeman9622 Blind Lemon Jefferson, Blind Boy Fuller, Blind Willie McTell, Blind Willie Johnson, Blind Blake... that's just some old times blues guys with Blind in their name.
@@lisamccomb505 He always used a driver, Les Anthony, as a Beatle, but Yoko was berating him, forcing him to "be a man" and drive around England with the two kids from their respective spouses. They didn't get too far when he crashed the car and Yoko and her daughter Kyoko landed in hospital. I think that was when Yoko had a bed shipped right in to Beatles rehearsals for herself to lounge in. Definitely when she helped herself to George's food (biscuits) that he needed to be able to stay longer at the rehearsals. George was so pissed off because here she was pretending to be all injured, but thinking the others were out of sight, she suddenly miraculously easily gets out of her bed and makes a beeline for his cookies. They all saw her do that.
I have that same prescription. I can’t see the frets or headstock of a guitar clearly without glasses or contacts. With that prescription, anything further than 8-12 inches away from your face is a giant blur. I’ve had this problem since first grade.
@@luctoulouse John Lennon was shot in the back. He walked pass the man that shot in the back. Yoko walked passed him as well. Earlier in the day same day John signed his autograph for the same man that shot: In The Back. What part are you refusing to understand? Crazy Fan Shot Him In The Back.
John Lennon wore contact lenses. Why isn't this a thing? There's really no way someone would be able function even remotely normal with vision like that. Even reading lyrics off a stand or the back of his guitar would have been a challenge. The round granny glasses were a part of the character he played, Gripweed, in the film how I Won the War. This was filmed in late summer/early fall 1966 to which he began wearing that style from then on out. In December 1969 he began using an orange tint which was considered good luck in eastern tradition.
He had Myopia and so do an awful lot of people, but that's a heavy prescription. I find this hard believe as in those days when lenses were made of glass they would have been seriously thick lenses. Also thick lenses make your eyes look smaller. With that prescription it could have been dangerous for him not to wear glasses, especially on stage.
@Syd McCreath if you have long sight and can't see up close then the lenses will be magnifiers so yes they will make your eyes larger. The opposite happens with short sight, however, you would need a very heavy prescription to make it really noticeable.
He grew up in a relatively carless urban culture where taking public transport was more the norm. His eyes would have been a greater handicap to his social development in America; even fat, shy Brian Wilson knew how to get around in his automobiles. John would have been less able to be the witty bullying teen leader in this country without the ability to drive.
but what explains hearing her and deciding to collaborate? her looks do not appeal to me but I am indifferent. her personality is infuriating though, and when I hear her screetch I have a physically negative reaction. mind control?
What's this gotta do with anything. I need a -5 power contact lens myself, and I am a musician as well, though no where near as talented as the Great John Lennon. Love him or hate him.... The man was a brilliant musician. imagine all the people... Living life in peace. ✌️
My lenses have like -5 in one and -4.50 in the other and im telling you right now without my glasses i cant see nothing, cant imagine john with -8.25 in them
He had a bad accident in Scotland with Yoko when driving there in 1969. He had a chauffer, Les, for a good reason. How did he pass his driving test? There is photo of him driving a Mini in the 1960s.
Even someone as myopic as he was, can see alright and qualify as a driver when wearing the proper eye glasses. Apparently he wore them when he passed the test and when he was driving. He would be crazy not to wear them.
I'm myopic and with astigmatism,as well. 5 degrees in both eyes. John Lennon was even more myopic. I inherited my Spanish grandparents's myopic and astigmatism, although I didn't inherited my Spanish granfather's blue eyes, although I enjoy having my dark brown eyes.
Paul stories when john visit him at his house.. he left pauls place around midnight and forgotten to bring his glasses.. He said to paul that he saw people playing card in the middle of the night.. So Paul investigate apparently paul saw a NATIVITY SET in the someones deck😅😅😅😂
The increasing of myopia and astigmatism stops when your body stops growing. I'm 56 and my myopia (7) and astigatism (2) are the same as when I was 20.
His mother Julia had an affair with a man named Bobby (?) Dykins while Freddie Lennon was at sea, and ended up divorcing Freddie and marrying him. She had a girl named Julia I think after marrying Dykins. John had basically been kidnapped by his aunt Mimi by age 5, and Mimi insecurely kept John apart from his mother and father, but later his mother figured out that if she pretended she wanted to visit Mimi, she could sneak a visit with John as well. Eventually Mimi allowed John to go to his mother's house for visits and of course have a relationship with his half sister Julia.
