I’m a qualified coach with over 25 years of playing experience. Firstly, I love the the fact your sharing your experiences & knowledge. Please continue to do so & keep growing, improving & I wish you good luck. My honest opinion of watching this ‘racket skills’ drill session is that’s it’s way too easy. The mindset should be high intensity for every single second of the session. Don’t allow yourself the comfort of ease. Feeding is way to slow. Don’t rally - ‘feed’. Eg hold a tube of shuttles & hit next shuttle as soon as hitter has made the shot. Complete ‘return to base’ to create real intensity. Also, your partner needs to hold his non racket arm for balance. Watch the video back to see what I mean. Hope this helps. All for positive benefit :)
Hey! Thanks for your concern :) I'm doing great, just stopped making videos because they were really time consuming and it's not that convenient to play badminton right now anyway. Hope you're doing well :)
Aloha Jeffrey, great tips on training, my training partner suggested that we focus more on training and less on playing. This video will provide us with more structure, making me more productive. Because the majority of players never train , I noticed they use shots in matches that they have never mastered. I never experiment in matches and only rely on shots I have practiced. Off course there are flaws that creep in, but an acessment of the problem is quickly fixed at the next training session. Proper technique is my key to developing consistency, timing, and touch. Training helps me identify my inconsistencies in strokes and footwork. Like unconsciously not completely returning to center and cheating on the next shot. I do this a lot. Thank you for sharing your expertise. Hope to train with you someday and partake in the hot pot after work out meal. Today is my training day. We work out every Tuesday. I always look forward to it. We will discuss this video and what we will work on as we drive to the courts. I appreciate your help. Our after training ritual is a nice Thai meal. I'll make it a point to make time to warm down after work out today. Thanks again it was an awesome video.
