The truth is, we don't know once genes from larger snakes are introduced. We don't know. Genetics are tricky and unpredictable. I think what's sad is many animals will pay the price from unscrupulous breeders wanting to make a sale who sell an animal telling the customer this animal will only get so large, and when the animal outgrows that it's either dumped, just like mainline animals and/or stuck in a tiny box for the rest of it's life. What a sad existence.

My female platinum, super dwarf, reticulated, python. goes in the shower with me sometimes when she has a stuck shed, she loves it. I do not let the water get very hot at all just about room temperature. She will sit on the glass shower doors in a little perch and just watch.

you always get more from the mother on the gene side than the father. these animals are scatter bred and a lot of times misrepresented depending on the market. without a proper breeding program regardless of breeding pure or crossed locals none of those numbers/percentages are correct. you cant build numbers on open ended breeding you cant calculate percentage without locking genes and you can lock genes without line breeding . even at 50 percent you still have to include the dna given from the grandparents and if they pure or not . and those generational percentages can get all the way down to 2 percent. adding mutations to the mix just further complicates things on another level.
