paulina Ramirez dont worry, when you get it, it doesn’t hurt at all! It just feels weird because your mouth will be opened the whole time. Make sure right after you get your braces, you eat. If u don’t eat right after u get ur braces, it will be hard to eat after a few hours so then you’ll have a few hours to eat anything you’d like before it starts to hurt (wouldn’t suggest gum). So, if it’s starting to hurt, it’ll only last for a few hours/1 day. I suggest only eating soft foods for 1-2 weeks after u get ur braces. That’s it! It’s not that bad. Right after a few months you won’t even notice that the braces are there inside ur teeth! Goodluck tho
I’m 27 with braces and I’m so excited. My parents couldn’t afford them when I was a kid so I worked hard and paid for them myself. Now they’ve been on my teeth for about 6 months and I have 15 more months to go. Can’t wait to get them off! I went 27 years covering my mouth when laughing, smiling with my mouth closed in pictures, and being insecure. When they come off I am probably going to cry because I won’t have to hide anymore.
"Remember some people are praying for the things you take for granted" I am the one praying. So consider yourself luckiest if you got braces. Good day!
Hemal lim don’t listen to that guy. Braces really aren’t as bad as people make it out to be. It’s not as much as pain but more like soreness. I’m praying for you to one day be able to enjoy braces!
Already 21 years old and finally had my braces. My teeth are so crooked it affected my self-confidence. Took me almost a year and some broke days (not being able to buy and eat what I want, but it's okay) to save up for my braces. Had to rely on my salary and I just wanna say, don't worry, and just have patience cause you'll get there :)
I just got my braces last month and just turned 25! I also couldn’t afford them as a kid/teen and insurance wouldn’t cover it. I’m excited to finally be able to fix my teeth! especially since we all have to wear masks so no one even knows I have braces as an adult😁
i personally don't have braces (getting them this month) but i remember one time when I was at my lunch two of friends had gotten their braces tightened (the day before) and they literally couldn't eat AT ALL from the pain. I felt so bad and now I'm scared to get them.
Same here, got my braces off in May this year. The result is great! I'm really happy I got braces because my teeth were horrible! Also it wasn't just braces.. I had to get a retainer, 4 teeth extracted, train track braces then another retainer!
When you have everything similar to dad expect the teeth.. my dads teeth is perfect and he never brushes it and it still stays clean.. MINE!? still yellow even though I brush :/ and mine needs braces
@@sharleenkmar2237 ik it wasnt the braces that hurt I just got 2 of my impacted wisdom tooth removed yestesday and man the sound of the drill felt like they were drilling in my brain Well finally the lower wisdom tooth took 35 minutes to remove and the upper on took 8minutes
it's not that im questioning my dentist's plan but is it right to fix the bite after 4 months of having a braces? she made me wear elastics from my upper right canine to my lower left canine when my braces is still 4 months up to now that I have my braces for 1 year and 4 months. I thought bite is the last thing to fix when it comes to braces? (╥﹏╥)
I’m so pleased with my braces. I may have had them for two years, but I’m so impressed of how much my teeth improved. I’m getting them off November 19th.😁
OMG Lucky! Im getting them off November 20th 😅. It has been a long two years for me as well, considering my front two teeth were literally inwards. Braces Buddies!!
Jesus Christ I need you Jesus Christ and miss you so much. I have been searching for you forever, I can’t seem to find the way to you on my own, is atrocious where I am. If u see this or hear me, reach a hand, throw your light, know I want your presence like before.
My parents couldn't afford braces, at 22, with my first salary, I got braces a month ago. Not yet seen much work done, and idc whether my overbite will go away, but am happy a dream came true.
@MorganTheGorgon I still have them😂😂, it will be removed in my next appointment. Major visible issues were already corrected within first 8months. The delay came from jaw expansion and realignment. It was definitely worth it!
As a person with braces myself, I guarantee that the pain and everything while you have your braces is worth while. Believe me, at first, I was scared to get braces attached (cause of all the stories I heard saying it was painful, and I'm pretty sensitive when it comes to pain) but, eventually, I have to get my braces installed this year cause my crooked teeth is getting worse. Turns out that it wasn't bad as I thought. During the first few weeks, the pain is intense but not too much that you can't handle. The pain will soon wear off for probably one to two weeks at most. Oh, and in case your brackets come loose, it's normal!! Now, my teeth are almost straight and I'm happy that I got braces installed or else this will go worse! So, don't be afraid of braces, trust me when I say this. Oh, and thanks to Bright Side as well! Thanks to you, I'd found out something. Honestly, I didn't know what those heads on top of brackets do until now. I didn't actually use Expanders or Ortho bands, just straight up brackets, wire and bands. So thank you for that!!😊😊
Random commenter trust me it’s not that bad as everyone makes it look like.Yeah it will hurt for a week or two but you’ll get used to it. Good luck tho🙃
They hurt man. Well, atleast for me See I had 4 extractions. I had spacers. All that. I'm having them for 27 months. I'm a freshman and these aren't coming off till junior year. Trust me they hurt but you get used to it. Just drink smoothies, eat icecream, and oatmeal EAT SOFT AND TAKE IBUPROFEN good luck •3•
My teeth were always perfect, but once upper wisdom teeth started growing they squeezed my front teeth which made me look like a bunny.. So i guess i need to get braces for that :(
@@sparkle9546 the pain actually did fade after a few days but expect a bit of tooth or gum sensitivity. I had to switch toothpaste brands because my whole mouth was sensitive. I had to be mindful about what I ate as well since the brackets popped off A LOT.
I used to have braces and the result of my teeth are amazing! Why did u remove them ahaha? Did u just kind of rip them off your teeth or... ? Or am I just misunderstanding what you mean ahaha?
My too, but it's not so important to me. Because I have unique life to live and there is lot of better things to think/do. I wanna just wanna be happy :)
I got my braces off 1 week ago. I had them on for 4 years I am so glad. I did find out that apparently I am slightly uncommon in the fact that I didn't want braces and was really excited when I got them off
andrea celubrico It depends on the type of braces u wear.. I've put braces which will take only one year and my teeth are extremely misaligned.. the less expensive braces take a lot of years like 3 to 4 years
I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out in one visit. I was a contractor at the time and bartered with the owner and painted his office for the dental work. 👍😁👍
I wanted braces so badly but my parents always saying no cause it almost cost 3months of my dad salary😢 I think i just need to wait till I'm old enough to go to work..😕😌
Here in the philippines even though u have a great set of teeth, u still have braces to look cool and rich. They would think that they're really cool when they have braces.
I used to wear braces and I’m so thankful for them. My most crooked tooth was my front left tooth, it stuck all the way out and I got bullied for it all the time! Now I get told I have great teeth 😁
@@tylermassey412 great! lol, have it for a year now and I'm technically numb to the pain every time I visit the orthodontist, and I'm able to eat everything even the foods my dentist says not to eat :P
@@nxtvie2558 I just got mine in yesterday and they kinda hurt, I just hope the time flies by and I come back and see my comment and it says "1 year ago"
I had my social service in a dental specialities clinic ran by the government and there was this patient with a very complex case who had them for 10 years she was so happy when I finally took them out
First time i had braces and got them removed, my smile and face looked amazing! Didnt wear my retainers tho so i got braces second time. Will i get same results as last time? (Second time didnt really hurt)
@@arisrap2951 braces for me came out 3k second time 2k cheaper then first time. If you have a full time job you shouldn't have a problem paying it off monthly
My parents couldn't afford because my mum always got sick and her treatment was priority for us. I am 29years old and I got my braces few days ago. Biggest insecurity of my life, I hope will come to an end.
Lol im 23 and I've got my braces on 5th feb with a cavity treated in my back upper tooth and it was so painful to have these while getting treated for my cavity.
@@JudyBJones-ko8oo that's great! Everything is fine for me now. But still I feel huge discomfort with braces while talking or eating or even smiling.Though ik it will take time to get used to 'em!
I'm not wearing a exapander. I went to one orthrodontist, and he said I needed it plus something else, and my mom asked if I needed it. He never answered the question directly, and even told my mom, "In all do respect, it's not your mouth." I WAS TWELVE.. We went to another orthodontist, who had way more experience, and he said I didn't need that metal in my mouth, and that I didn't need my mouth expanded. Apparently it's a fad according to him.
They're honestly not too bad. Like depends whats wrong of course but I have a lot of teeth that grew sideways and honestly just take care of ur teeth and all will turn out well
Having braces is uncomfortable and painful from the first few weeks up to your first adjustment. It hurts but as time goes by and after many adjustments, it’s not painful anymore, you will feel a little pressure here and there and a little discomfort sometimes, food gets stuck in your braces, and break the wire if you’re not careful, it is worth it because you’ll see and feel the changes it makes to your teeth. So don’t be afraid to get braces.
I've been asking my parents for years to get braces and them not understanding that I'm insecure about my teeth all they say is "your teeth is perfect" but I don't feel confident in them
I had an expander, headgear(less serious but still painful) and am in the final stages of braces till getting a retainer. Boy most of y’all have *NO* idea of how much this hurts Not to sound over reactive but especially at my age
After braces treatment my teeth are in a correct position .They work magically 😁😁😁😀😀 Though it is painful some time but it will help those who will apply these to get a perfect smile
Born with a severe overbite from playing clarinet for 6 years. Just finished wearing a retainer to move my bottom jaw forward. (had it for 2 years) Going to get braces put on Dec 1st 2020! Edit: Expanders were today (1st Dec) and the actual fitting is next week on the 8th
I had braces for 2 years. During that time I learnt that I have a supernumerary tooth(a tooth inside my gum). Had a surgery to take it out. Despite the pain I don't regret getting braces. The best 2 years of my life.
