It shouldn't take a physiologist from Yale to tell you that not eating breakfast is the result of poor academic performance that's just obvious. No food equals no energy and without energy your not gonna do anything but want food and think about that until you get some.
I skipped breakfast every single day, and I still practice intermittent fasting to this day. When I was in grade school, I never ate breakfast for lunch, and I was at the top of my class, was admitted into top schools and all that. Read up on the intermittent fasting benefits. In my elementary school we had something called "Breakfast Club" where everyday if you couldn't get breakfast you could just go there and they'd give you stuff like cereal or muffins.
Seriously?!? We had to pay for our breakfast, No free breakfast, lunch , snacks , etc. If you had a negative balance then you shouldn’t even think about getting breakfast because they wouldn’t even look at you.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Even something really light like a 1 or 2 slices of break or eggs can go a long way in ending the night long fast, waking your brain and starting your day. It's vital to feel fresh and be capable in the morning.
A long time ago at my old elementary school I had a classmate/friend he never was hungry and never ate nothing at school if he ate it would be less than the bite size of a dime he was also very skinny I also asked him why don't you eat much at least 1 plate of food and he stayed tired and sick because he wasn't getting all the nutrition he needed he is still alive because he goes to my school he does look a tad bit healthier from about 4 years ago .every time I see him I don't speak because I don't think he'll remember me at all so I stay away now not judging him for poor eating habits but he should eat something before going to school,bed,store . Love breakfast in the classroom! Ensure these kiddos eat and are ready for the day. Intimate and relationship building as well as less chaotic. Cafeterias stress me out!
I remember I never got breakfast because the school bus came late and I was only given 10 mins to grab my food and eat. The lines were long and the amount of food was short.

That seems logical. No kid would admit to living in poverty, and no one brags about not being impoverished, so no one would know if the child needs it or not.
Taxpayers get to feed low income kids twice, once through food stamps and then through school provided meals. Meanwhile, middle class people who don't qualify for assistance are squeezed by rising costs and relatively stagnant wages
My only issue is that they incorrectly used the word 'impact' in the title. They mean to say 'affect.' Impact has a connotation that is solely physical.
Our school has a free lunch and a free breakfast too. Our school also puts together a box with food in it to take home for the weekend. Also, there’s a food bus that goes to poor neighborhoods or to anyone that requests it in their neighborhood.
I hope these kids are doing better now I’m not a math wiz but I’m pretty sure now all these kids at this school are at least like 12 or so since it’s nearly been at years and this is a elementary school now that they are older and some are adults hopefully they were able to get their needs

Most in my city do not eat breakfast. The Pre K eat the Baby Eggos. The middle and high school eat Takkis and Gatorade. Its strange that they have $1000 phones and Jordans.
People really need to look into intermittent fasting. Very healthy. Nothing wrong with skipping breakfast as it's not even important. Just teach your kids that fasting is okay and they will be more disciplined and successful later in life. Gotta teach kids that nothing comes free. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, and people aren't teaching their kids that these days.
I’m not trying to be ungrateful but they feed us slop that’s why I pack my lunch EVERYDAY and I eat at home but it’s sad because everybody can’t do that
My question is: Why isn't CPS being called on the parents whose children are coming to school saying their home does not have food. Why isn't more being done with families when children are being starved? I am all for the free meals, but shouldn't efforts also be made to fix the root of the problem which is Mom & Dad not providing.
It makes me feel great that he likes math. So what he's picked a fight here and there. He's a man and should learn how to fight. But we need more kids interested in math in America.
I teach first grade in a low income public school in California. My school provides free breakfast but in the cafeteria before school starts. I would not like my students eating breakfast every day in the classroom- lots of crumbs and mess would bring rats and roaches. That lady in the video saying that it’s too much of a transition??? LOL 😂 no it is not. My kids are perfectly fine eating in the cafeteria in the morning then coming to the classroom. Additionally, breakfast time in the cafeteria is much more quiet than lunch time in the cafeteria.

I believe breakfast should be hot and truly healthy not the desert crap falsely portrayed as healthy. The kids can get up and learn how to walk and wait in line.
