In this video, we cover how one of the worlds most underrated midfielders dominated world football, without moving.. Twitter: / finalwhlstle A BRoll Media Production. / broll_media #Football #Soccer #Busquets
@@maxtortarum4657you think pirlo is the greatest cdm of all time? He’s genuinely got the cleanest technique I’ve EVER seen. So silky and smooth, but he wasn’t and would never be the best in a cdm position. 😂 idk it’s all opinions I guess but I do believe personally busquets is the greatest cdm of all time
The thing is, everyone realized. Granted he's never mentioned in the talk of best midfielders ever, but the trio of him, Xavi and Iniesta are more often or not referred to as the GOAT midfield.
"Playing football is very simple, but playing simple football is the hardest thing there is"- Johan Cruyff, I can't think of a better phrase to define Sergio Busquets genius.
I wouldn't call him underrated anymore because of how many people call him that, but I'd rather use "under appreciated" since people who say he is underrated don't actually know how good he is. Easily top 3 CDMs. Can't think of anyone better besides Pirlo but I didn't see him play much so can't rate him. Matthäus maybe but kind of biased since I'm a Bayern fan.
@@user-rk8tt4ws3u All round no. Half of the players you mentioned are not even close, like Kante. Hes great especially in 16/17 but nowhere near busquets. Fact that you're comparing him with Kante shows how truly underrated he is. All round and career wise 100% top 3. He has 1 WC, 1 Euro, 3 UCLs, 3 Club WCs, 9 La Ligas, 3 Supercups, 7 Supercopa de España, 7 Copa Del Reys, and played in probably the best prime a team ever had.
Part of Busquets composed playing style comes from the fact that his next moves were already planned long before he received the ball. That's his genius. It was Johan Cruyff that said “you play football with your head and your legs are there to help you” Busquets embodies this belief.
Busquets was moulded by Pep Guardiola the same way Pep moulded Rodri. A pivot doesn't move, it rotates about its axis and holds position so as to stabilize the game.
I think Barcelona has had absolutely amazing players like Villa, Eto'o, Henry, Puyol, Dani Alves and so on. But those 4 in diamond shape bang in the middle of the pitch is why they were the team they were. Individually they all deserve a separate chapter, Iniesta might be the single most skilled player ever bringing the ball forward from midfield, Xavi never made a mistake and was a robot passer, Busquets knew exactly where to be every time and was in total relax in the most delicate part of the pitch; but together they just toyed with the other teams, they all had that same quality of being one step ahead of what the opponent was thinking all the time.
I have been a Barca fan for the last 30 years and never have i seen a player like Busquets for so many years, single handed, direct not only Barca's play, but the entire game. The man is a master footballer.
By admiring Busquets game so much that over the years I’ve introduced much of what he does in to my amateur football games. Although very affective and helps the team immensely you are definitely not as appreciated as other positions on the pitch. In fact the general rules of his play is what I deem as consistent perfection due to the roll I.e. holding ground, reading play, disguising passing, 1 to 2 touches, complete relaxation, immaculate first touches (body positioning) and guiding your team to name a few. The big problem is, it gets hideously boring IMO. You’re not able to dribble, score goals or do last minute blocks/tackles. Only on very rare occasion can you use your actual other abilities that help make the game exciting. That’s the question I would love to ask him, does he feel the same way. Does he get bored of being consistently elegantly predictable to himself.
That team could have thrived with seidou keita in the middle and the team wont miss a beat. Lets not forget he struggled under tata martino. Barca even had to sign rakitic to cover his mess and put in defensive shifts in the luis enrique era. Busi isnt the greatest defensive midfielder of our era. Only barca fans think he is
This is the best example of why saying a player like Messi or Ronaldo is the best player. The best at what? It's a team sport. Messi wouldn't have been that amazing without his teammates and same with Ronaldo (and every other player). You can't say Messi is better than busquets because busquets was maybe the best in the world at his role - not assists, not goals and not saves.
If only Barca had a brain and signed rodri as his replacement🙃 signed Pedro porro (make him a competent defender) alex grimaldo, (balde would have some competition too not just Alonso) and gave malcom a chance instead of selling him with what 10 games max under us? Where he actually played good considering he had to take messis position. Ik it sounds like fifa career mode but bro we dumped over 200 mil on garbage u can’t tell me this wouldn’t have been smarter signings
Busquets was so very lucky... He just needs to kick the ball away if it comes to him😂😂😂😂😂 and in the center of the field he will have to do some nudging so as to show his presence and in defense he will have to show some aggression. The rest is done by Puyol, Alves, Pique Iniesta, Xavi, Ronaldinho, Messy, Henry and some 15/16 others that I cant name... I know a certain Argentinian guy who win more trophy and a decent record better than the top 3 Balon d'or nominees😂😂😂😂 Like I say Sergio Busquets have to just kick the incoming ball away from him, maybe inside or outside the football ground😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Had Busquets time at Barcelona coincided with Barca's worst period, he would've went down as one of the worst mids who lacks creativity, strength and pace. A player like Gerrard is rightfully rated as great because we witnessed him during his team's worst period. Busquets is overrated by this obnoxious wave of fans who want to appear as much more conscious about football.
Not really, he still would have been great. Individual quality has nothing to do with how well one's teammates perform. Gerrard wouldn't have shined as much if he had been part of a world class side, because he wouldn't have had to do as many things on the pitch on his own as he did. But he would still have been the same great player.
@@user-hp8hg2ix1b Bro you see now your argument is kind of collapsing on itself, the video is centered around the idea that Busquets was one of the best not the idea of being a great system player and what makes best players is the ability to shine when the team isn't shining. Also, you know very well that the team's success greatly embellishes a player's legacy and overall perception. Buquets is in the same category as players like Jerome Boeteng and Roy Keane.
Do you think it is coincidence if Barca's best period started in 2008-2009 (the first sextuple), when Busquets was first introduced to the first team, rotating with Seydou Keita and Yaya Toure, and Barca's decline began when Busquets is getting older and eventually retire? But has it occurred to you that probably Busquets' career is one of the reasons WHY Barca was in their best period? Same with Gerrard with Liverpool. Yes you can also add Messi into the mix, as to there are many factors influence a club's best periods, not only resulted from 1 player's career. You can also mention Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Pep, etc. But when all these players and coaches speak highly about Busquets, probably it does hold truth. These guys are not "obnoxious wave of fans", and I'm sure they know a bit more about football than you and me, no? He's not overrated. He was underrated, but nowadays people appreciate and rate him better.
