Eye Drops Murder Trial | Medical Examiner Dr. Linda Biedrzycki testified about the active ingredient in the alleged murder weapon, Tetrahydrozoline. It's considered toxic at high doses and in this case, Jessy Kurczewski is accused of using it to poison Lynn Hernan's water, killing her longtime friend to get access to her money.

Finally I understand the panic when my toddler was found sucking then squirting eye drops on the wall as I was preparing for work. Phoned to ask the pediatrician if it was anything to be concerned about. Discovered eye drops can affect blood pressure. A vasodilator. They rapidly put him into hospital under observation. I had no idea they could kill and this info wasn't shared with me that day either. Sadly, it is one medication we often have in our handbags or on a bedside cabinet - not kept under lock and key like painkillers and other meds. Lesson learnt.

I mean, I get what you're saying. Amd it is dangerous... But this woman had 6 bottles of Visine in 1 bottle of water. A few drops of Visine in one drink is quite different from 6 entire bottles of Visine mixed into EVERY drink she had. It's like you're supposed to take 2 Tylenol a few times a day.... If you take 10, you might get nauseous or develop an ulcer. If you take the whole bottle, you can die a very painful death... 🤷🏼‍♀️

Poor Lynn didn’t stand a chance. She had some heavy drugs already in her system and then to be dosed in such a high amount with a very toxic chemical, she had no chance. Poor thing. She trusted the wrong person who ended up being a literal monster. RIP Lynn.

It is very shocking that this isn’t well known. I would never have thought that something I squeeze into my eye is highly toxic if swallowed. I also wanted to inquire, does it have no taste? Would 6 bottles in your 1 bottle of water not be detectable by taste?

who knew that was a very good very informative recording. I think it's important for the public to know about this cause most people have eyedrops in their house and they don't necessarily keep him locked in the way from their children because I think most people never thought they could be dangerous not to this level.

Same here. I knew someone back in the 1980s, a waiter, who put just a few drops in people's food if they were rude, and they always ran off to the bathroom during the meal.

Same happened to me several times years ago at a night club! Same bartender would keep visine eye drops around and drops in cocktails! It made me violently ill.. you go out both ends and puke up till you think you're about to die.. they used to think it was funny to do this but not funny at all.. I thought they had taken the chemicals out of eye drops years ago because this was common practice but guess not.. Horrible!!!

What better opportunity than to murder someone who has often spoken about suicide?! The perfect cover up. I think Jessie is guilty. A very greedy woman since she stood to inherit anyway. Imagine the research she had to do - I don't think many people realise eye drops can be dangerous. Thank God for this brilliant forensic specialist.

Eye drops aren't dangerous if you don't drink 6 bottles of it... Everything is dangerous if overused or used incorrectly. So to say eye drops are dangerous per se is wrong.

Jessy said that Lynn's family and friends didn't come see her for over a year. That Lynn didn't want anything to do with them and that's why she cut them out of the will. They seemed to all be there for the trial. I wonder if Jessy kept them from seeing or contacting her because she had been slowly killing her all along and the family would have done something about it.

Right...I know visene isn't a good brand to have as it restricts blood vessels but never new of all of them. Thought just have them the shits and belly pain or gas but apparently that's with a few drops of them, not a whole bottle to several bottles.

There is one important factor excluding Lynn Hernan suicide with eye-drops: she would have to find about it somewhere. That's not a thing we hear everyday on TV and Lynn didn't have nor knew how to use internet. Secondly she had opioids, benzodiazepines and other meds at home in quantity which could kill elephant. There is no sense that she hide that she overdosed on THZ and staged her suicide as overdose by smth else.

If she ingested the drugs they found with her herself, plus eye drops, the eye drop bottles should have been found there too, but they weren't recovered by police at all. Police would have searched the trash at a crime scene, so it's incredibly suspicious that she was found with some drugs on her that were ingested before death, but not all of them

attorneys correct me if i’m wrong…its the state’s burden to prove that: any ONE of her health conditions, any ONE of her medications that she was taking or any ONE of the thousands of combinations of those DID NOT cause her death. NOT to prove that the defendant gave the victim any amount of visine then subsequently the victim passed away. if so, they have a BIG job to do.

The burden of proof is on the State. They have to prove what caused her demise, and they have to prove that the defendant gave the eyedrops to the victim and that it was what caused their demise.

Maybe it’s just me, but I find it odd that a person is interviewed for this video as if he is knowledgeable about the effects of tetrahydrozoline poisoning, and he can’t even pronounce the medication’s name properly. If you’re going to do an interview on this subject, at least learn to pronounce the substance you’re speaking about properly.
