@PaulThronson
@PaulThronson Месяц назад
@@wchambers3849 Levy has thousands of times over the audience that Bobby Fischer had to the chess public. How do you define "bigger" if not by influence? During the cold war, broadly more Americans knew who Bobby Fischer was - but most of them didn't play chess - and whether or not Levy ever gets that kind of broad attention nationwide is debatable and admittedly a tall order. However, people under 35 have a better chance to have heard of gothamchess than Bobby Fisher and that will only grow over time. My guess is that people have already watched or replayed more Levy chess games than Bobby Fischer chess games. He has more views in one video than then the total sales of all chess books with Fischer's games in them.

For whatever reasons, a person develops an idea about how one must play to win. Aside from having skills, the way one plays can determine our ceiling. Ideas tend to be limiting by their nature. They aren't as open ended as nature. Levy's nervousness may have led him to search for faster wins and complications as "the path", but that doesn't work at a very high level. So, he has to change.
