Submitting yourself to God's will and surrendering your own will to Him is a major part of being filled with the Spirit.

Very good explanation. So many times in my walk being filled was equated with some kind of emotion, zeal or sign although those things do occur being controlled by the Holy Spirit in one's whole being to me is the better interpretation.

Great explanation. Many Christians are saved but walk in the flesh. We need a better understanding of living by the spirit.

Most christian are fooled into believing that living a moral life with the effort of the flesh as walking with the spirit or obedience to God. If walking with the spirit is to try our best with our flesh, then even unbelievers from other religions can do even better than us. Trying to live a moral life through the effort of the flesh is the same as keeping the 10 commandments (The purpose of the law is to make all man lose hope in the flesh and ultimately to put all our faith and hope Jesus Christ)

@@Goinghome2024 Indeed I do. The sadder truth is; this is a very important truth that is seldom spoken about from behind the pulpit. Jesus told His disciples, “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter (Holy Spirit) will not come unto you” (John 16:7). The Holy Spirit is here now; but we just don’t engage Him. Choosing instead to believe that we can just go to church and catch Him. I’ve gotten to the point where when I hear people say “They caught the Holy Ghost”, I ask them what lure did they use to catch Him. They present Him as an object and not as the Third Person in the Godhead. And that; I believe, is why (as you’ve stated) “most Christians are fooled into believing that they can live a moral life with the effort of the flesh” or as I’ve often said to my wife, “we can’t walk in the ‘fruits of the Spirit’ apart from the Holy Spirit’.

@@cliffordsmith428 I used to struggle daily using human efforts to live a life that i assume to be pleasing to God. But it always ended up failing. It is until I heard about the Gospel of Grace preached by Joseph Prince that set me free. It is through the constant prayer in tongues that my understanding and wisdom increased to know the deep things of God.

@@cliffordsmith428 To be born again and walk in the spirit, I understand it this way. A fish swims and a bird flies. Each of them are in their own element and does not need to struggle to swim and fly. In the same way, a sinner sins and a saint live a moral life. If a Christian is truly born again, he or she should not have a problem living a moral life unless the person is doing it through the efforts of the flesh.

Praise God. In our India there is a practice of having ganja(a kind of drugs) to be filled with a pagan god called shiva. Can see a lot of saints in north India even today😢 Pray for India

He said to yield to the Holy Spirit in your daily actions. When you do God's will you are being filled with the Spirit. When you reject sin you are being filled with the Holy Spirit.

@@samwilliams5247the Spirit is the one who causes us to walk in the rules and statutes of the Lord. Ezekiel 36:26-28 Sure self righteous can get wrapped up in doing the right thing considering our sin torn world. The question to ask yourself is “Am I doing the right thing out of a love for God or am I doing the right thing so others will think well of me, and out of a hope that I will be saved/justified/forgiven for doing it?”

This confuses me a bit. Are we not filled by the Holy Spirit at conversion? Are we not sealed forever by His power through the Holy Spirit? I understand I can grieve and quench the Holy Spirit when I choose to sin and am rebellious but ,if I act like that, does that mean I then lose the Holy Spirit and regain Him when I am obedient? Where does that leave, "Lo, I am with you always"? That does not make sense to me. That would seem to say that God's power depends on my works. ???

@@Gman-j3e Interesting. Considering John the Baptist said Jesus would baptize us with the Holy Spirit and with fire, a firebird is a good symbol. The phoenix represents life from death, which is what Jesus did and what the Holy Spirit does within us. Too bad the pagans misappropriate the good things of God.

There's nothing in the verses you mentioned telling us that being filled with the Holy Spirit will make us holy and obedient.... I think you've missed out the whole teaching of self denial.

@@jameswatkins101 They're prophecies given to Israel for when there is a new creation James. That still isn't here. The Holy Spirit has been given to us but we still have to work out our salvation .

Read Jesus’ own words as he hung on the Cross. “It is finished.” Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith and it is not of your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Man, if salvation was dependent on us, none of us would be saved.

Good video, but one does not get the The Fathers Spirit at Salvation. You get Jesus Spirit. The Holy Spirit by laying on hands, Give up your heathen Trinity. Look it up and read what it says and not by a church doctrine blinders
