Dianna, Minji was so adorable in this video. I ❤her cute personality and the way she interacted with Rianna. You guys are doing a fantastic job raising her and Jun. Wishing your family well 😘
@@Makingthemarks Definitely agree with starting with flat twists and eventually learning to cornrow. A flat twist involves all the fundamentals of cornrowing. I can cornrow and do a 3 strand flat twist after doing a 2 strand flat twists on my hair.
Thank you so much for having me back on the channel again ~ I truly loved working with Minji and her dad, and I’m so proud of how much he learned in a short time frame. It was an amazing experience all round ♥️
I thought you had a Chanelle where you post these kind of videos or videos that help with black natural hair,I'd watch your videos all the time, you're awesome!!
Her mom is lazy, she doesn't take care of her own hair. She knows dam well how to take care of black hair, her mom. They were in the states a few months back and bought all those black products but don't use them.
@@feridedogan7653 Obviously I never said it wasn’t normal to do so I’m just saying it’s good to see that he actually went to someone that knows about his daughters hair type 🤷🏽♀️
@@m0nst3r.81 i meant the word effort 😆. Should be always like this in a normal relation between kids and parents .But yes making an effort to find help and learning something New is great . If we love our kids we all would do the same.
I love the fact that non-black men embrace having mixed children and actually put in effort to learn about different hair textures despite being criticized for not somehow already knowing everything.
I love that he cares and really wants to learn. Especially with the braids, it made me happy to see him ask to restart so many times cause that means he really wanted to learn for minji♥️
Props to Minji for being so patient and putting up with the pain when they were first oiling her hair. and props to Dad for learning how to braid in one sitting! I'm Black and my husband is White and I'll always be proud of him for volunteering to do both our girls' hair. It was an accomplishment. It would take him a while but he got the job done. Rianna is very good at teaching hair care Black and Mixed hair.
7:32 the little sad side eye when he said he couldn’t and he gives up and then the proud smile at 11:27 when he did it and the ‘wait he want to do this again tomorrow!?’ look at 13:34 this child is precious and I love to see more dads learning how to do their daughters hair❤
He is such a good daddy for wanting to learn and care about his daughter's hair! And Rianna was such a good and patient teacher! I am a black woman, and I learned so much from her! 😊
I love how much interest he's taking in order to learn how to do his daughters hair despite his hesitation of messing up. It's very sweet that he still tries no matter what
I’m so thankful for this content. The format feels genuine and respectful. Growing up biracial with parents who couldn’t do my hair felt like hell. I finally feel confident doing it with out paying over $100 to a stylist every time I needed help…. I’ve lost career opportunities many times because my hair was considered unprofessional (even after being styled 😅) and it used to sadden me. Taking an hour or more to work with my hair, and then having to monthly pay for expensive hair products just to walk in society sucks some days but I feel thankful to finally have come to a place of peace. Although commercials feature Afros and different textures more liberally, there are still social connotations that need to be worked on. Thanks again from Seattle for continuing! Love to see the younger generations being embraced so lovingly ❤
Minji is just so cute and adorable, and brave, she's such a darling!!! How can a Six-year-old be this PATIENT!!!!!, I'm literally freeking out just watching the hands on her hair... I rarely let someone comb my hair, let alone learn to braid hair using my hair! Waooowwwww!
@bijouruby1075 Yes. And she's actually *5 years old* (for those of us in the West and other places). Koreans (as do some other countries) add an extra year to their ages. At birth, they count it as 1 year old and not as 0, like we do.
One of my favorite family on YT. I love that Kyungho keeps asking Minji if she was okay. Minji is such an adorable, smart and fun little girl. Great job dad on trying to learn more about Minj’s hair texture. ❤Rianna did well
This is such an endearing act of love and wanting to connect with your child. Understanding culture and care for your child's hair is a gift of wholeness. Blessings to you all.
As a Nigerian man i really appreciate the Dad...it ain't easy styling black girls hair...it made me realize i also need to learn how to braid for when ill have daughters
I thought she was teaching him to braid to the scalp at first and i was like 😮😮 start easy😂😂😂 and he did good, let him celebrate. Let him build the confidence. He definitely gives his wife her props. Cute video🎉❤ Minji did so good. I love that this young lady is willing to teach and that Dad is willing to learn.
It's so cute seeing him learning. It's great seeing dads learn how to do their childs hair. I have no kids, but I had to do my sister's hair when younger, so it was a challenge learning to braid. Good job dad.
I cant do neither and im black😂i should feel so ashamed about not knowing anything about black people type hair.I should know how to braid and plate and i dont know neither
@bleu22 do you not know how to take care of your hair or just the various hair styles? It's OK if u don't really know how to do a lot of styles but taking care of ur hair is important
MInji shaking her braids back and forth is so cute! As a black woman that does not know how to to braid or do my hair, I understand your pain, dad. It's the reason I hated dolls as a kid, and played with my brother's toys instead.
It's easier to understand a new language than it is to actually speak it. In fact, what normally happens when learning a new language is you start to understand what is being said before you can say it yourself.
@@shadowkissed2370 Definitely! Even as someone who has taken a number of formal language courses and lived there for over a year total, I understand far more Korean than what I can formulate into comprehensible speech 😅😂
@@shadowkissed2370This phenomenon is a great example of how comprehension is using a different part of the brain than speech. You don't need to speak a language to understand it - which also explains how someone can be non-verbal.
@@shadowkissed2370 that is called receptive that is called receptive bilingualism. You know how some people can understand and speak to languages. The receptive bilingualism is when someone understands two languages but can only speak in one language.
@@irmaalvarado6961 I am so frustrated with myself, I was raised speaking Spanish and English, though English was my first language. I move across the country to a area where no one speaks Spanish and have not spoken it in 20+ years so now it is hard for me to speak Spanish but I can still understand it and read it.
Hi Dianna, Kyungho, and Minji! Such a wonderful bonding experience. Rianna chose a cute hairstyle for Minji and did a great job teaching Kyungho how to style Minji's hair!
I love the sass that Minji exudes. She was very calm during the entire video. Her father did a great job not giving up as he learned from Rianna how to style Minji's hair. It's applause all around for them.
God this is the cutest thing I've ever seen. It's rare for dads to know how to do their girls' hair, and it's rare for non-black people to know how to do curly hair, AND it's really hard to find stylists for curly hair in Korea. This is such a fantastic combination, and a great opportunity for dad!
I love this, it's so important for any kind of parent to have the bonding of self care with their kids. Very sweet, long process but worth it in the end. Black hair is like art.
This was cute. I like Dianna in Korea’s channel. I enjoy watching Minji & her brother Jun. They’re both adorable. Dad did a good job on his first try. Great video Giggle. There is also another beautiful interracial family that you might want to feature. The RU-vid channel is Aisha Ba
I really love it when people share curly hairstyling, for both kids and adults because I can learn and try different hairstyles. I’m blasian and it’s not easy for me to style my hair myself except for ponytail. My mom is the master of my hair back when I was young🤭Now she just helps with cutting so that my hair can stay untangle and healthy. This cute girl is so sweet and pretty. Thanks Rianna for the tips and hairstyles👏🏼💛
As an American, I follow DiannainKorea!! Loved them for YEARS. I've been watching since the twins were born. Lawd, watching this had me roaring in laughter. 🤣🤣🤣 Dad did good constructing a robot...He should have aced braiding!! 🤣🤣 LOVE THIS FAMILY!!!
I definitely think this was ambitious. I probably would’ve started with like braided ponytails. But he did really well for the first time. Big props for seeing it through. ❤️❤️❤️😊😊
This is so cute! Just seeing the dad try his best, just attempting is nice to watch. It becomes a great bonding time with your child. As a kid my older sister always did my hair because both of my parents worked. I never had these type of memories with my parents, not even my mom. It makes me a little regretful.
This is a family I watch and LOVE!! Kyungho and Dianna are great parents, and Minji is such a sweet girl! I didn't forget about you Jun, lol, Super kid!!
Why she would start with teaching him the hardest part of afro hair styling (braiding) is beyond me. Baby steps girl. This will discourage anyone from doing afro hair, blk ppl included! Moisturizing, detangling, and a few simple ponytails should have been sufficient! 🤦🏾♀️
