@drwajih32
@drwajih32 Год назад
Great question Abdullah. Having a distinction matters to a small extent. You get a couple of points for it. However in my personal opinion they don't matter. You are better off focusing your efforts on research, audits, teaching projects, or even innovations but marks are the last thing medical students should worry about.

@drwajih32
@drwajih32 7 месяцев назад
Great suggestion. Will put it on my list. Briefly it depends on whichever you want to go with. In the past I would've recommended non-training first and you could've gotten your crest signed off in 3 months or more depending on how fast you could demonstrate your competencies. However now I'd suggest apply for both training and non training and start whichever one you get first. You'll notice the waiting is so long that it's less of a choice and more of a take what you get.

Is it essential to have one's name appear as either the first or second author in research, such as a meta-analysis, or is it acceptable to be listed as the fourth or fifth author?

@drwajih32
@drwajih32 2 года назад
I'm sorry to hear that. The application process takes some time. 2 months is still very early. Keep trying. And like I said the process is multifactorial. Doing an elective doesn't guarantee you a spot it just increases your chances. I had to apply for several months and go through tons of rejections before securing my first job. It happens to all of us. Keep the faith and continue to build your CV. Your time will come too.

Hi reemghorab. I can't say sorry. Teach the teacher does have points on IMT application but I don't know if the one from your country meets the standards offered by the one in the UK. Perhaps ask a senior who has taken it and used it in their IMT application successfully.

So you can take feedback from as many students as you want. No set rules. And show the feedback to the consultant in your home country. Hello Dr Wajih. how much is your take home salary and designation? I am working in casualty of a government Hospital in India as a medical officer since 7 years. At what level I can get a job in NHS. Designation? And Basic Pay would be ?
@drwajih32

Hi Gaurav. I started at the most basic level. Right after FY1 (housejob) as an SHO. My take home after tax salary was 2000£. With 7 years experience you could potentially get a job as a medical registrar with a take home salary of 4100£ per month. This is excluding locum shifts and after taxes. Ofcourse I am just speculating based off what you have told me. The numbers vary widely based on several factors. But just to give you an idea. Hi Nazia. A good way to compile all your teaching is to get a consultant to write a letter mentioning the topics you taught and dates you taught on. If they personally witnessed all then that's great. If they didn't then they can mention that they have reviewed the participant feedback you provided. Hope that helped. Hi Kushal. Great questions. 1) Feedback can be either typed or written. Upto you. 2) Consultant feedback is more valuable than individual feedback for CV purposes. That can be done using a teaching observation form. 1 student feedback is fine as well but the more the better for your self development purpose. 3) Yes nurses and paramedics can give feedback.

@drwajih32
@drwajih32 2 года назад
@@amnaahmad7662 It's not like clinical experience doesn't count. That counts but there are other things that matter more. Landing a first job in the NHS is easiest if you have done a clinical elective in UK. Because then you are able to get a good recommendation from a consultant who already works there. This matters so much. I emphasize on teaching and research because you will see them pop up everywhere on person specifications. Having these things will count towards your residency application as well so it's a double plus. It might just be my personal experience and that of my seniors but these were the things I found most trusts wanted out of their applicants.
