True. I agree my response is my responsibility and discussion over debate is the way to be where one tries to carve out a possibility with mutual understanding and not stick to redundant ideas. At 4:45 minutes you gave a great solution to move away from people or situations which becomes abusive but how to remove that abusive person from the scenario as it is not only for your own safety but anyone who comes in contact with that self righteous, egoistic and violent person who has no control over his impulses. His immediate family children parents are all in constant abusive state living with him.

Moving away from cruelty/abuse/harm from others and from ourselves is a lifetime challenge. Sometimes its emotional and sometimes our thoughts. We must choose seeds of what helps and grows rather than hurts.

As debate could be a merely an extension of discussions but with facts and data. If God is Good and He is, then all that happens is also good. The ego that doesnt want to be shown wrong is an attribute of that Good God. We are all all in part good part bad, none are perfect except God. The deeds we do are from the Good God and therefore its All Good regardless of Ego.
