Im so tired of plastic in everything. I'm going to do my dining chairs. The springs need tightening as some are poking down to the dust cloth. I would likecto do them as naturally as possible. Love your videos and website.

It sure would be lovely for future viewers to be provided with a link or given an idea where to purchase the cardboard. It’s been one of the biggest challenges I’ve faced while doing my first (and probably last) upholstery project. I thought the online upholstery retailers were expensive. Had best luck finding a variety of sizes for reasonable prices at packaging supply centers.

Where can I purchase the cardboard? I am reupholstering my Aunt’s 1950’s steel chairs that have cardboard on the top backing where you would rest your back on when seated. The cardboard is in rough shape . There is a name on the cardboard- Daystrom with the “o” large. Any assistance would be helpful, thank you!

Where do you get the cardboard sheets?

Try Michaels or other similar craft store for lighter applications (any 1mm thick cardboard should do the trick). If you're wrapping a large area such as the back of a barrel chair, try an automotive repair shop or upholstery shop.

@@NaturalUpholstery Everyone says the same thing, and it is no help. Someone has this product but I have searched high and low for it. 1mm is way to light for the job. Back of your yellow note pad. 2 or 3mm would be much better. Craft stores freak when you mention the size wanted. Joanns, Hobby Lobby and the like just don't want to mess with it.

@@nh32u I don't know how thick it is, but it looks a lot like the pallet slips we used to use when I did warehousing. I work in a canning facility now but all the aluminum cans come with these sheets evey so many layers. We wad it up and recycle it, but have given it away to crafty co-workers before.

@@nh32u I'm having the same problem trying to find the panels. I have two chairs I'm making I need to finish. I goggle and find the panels in Italy an upholstery factory. Sad the USA doesn't sell them.

I found large corrugated cardboard online at PackagingPrice and PackagingSupplies. They have a 24 x 30” size as well as panels that are smaller and larger.
