In the early to mid 80's I taught English as a second language in Colombia, South America. I am fully PRO borders and controlled immigration, but the way it is being handled in the detention camps is a real problem. There is no need to dehumanize children or people in general to effectively enforce immigration policies. Streamline deportation hearings or asylum hearings, get better funding for the court cases, etc. but the minute you are charged with housing children, you treat them as you would want other countries to treat yours if the situation were ever reversed. Human rights include Guatemalans and Mexicans, not just Americans.
