His previous job in the J.League really helped as it meant he has some knowledge in the Japanese market, Hatate, Maeda, Kobayashi, Iwata, and Kyogo are all J.League signings that have really reenforced the squad, build chemistry with Japanese players, they also helped themselves fan base wise. But like you said about Ideguchi, we can’t judge him because injuries are just things you can’t predict nor control.
Total agreement here M8 Reo is the best player we have had In midfield for ages and his attacking runs are awesome, passing is tight and he can score as well a fantastic player! Hope he never pulled his hamstring when playing Hibs and is back after the international games for the run to the treble.HH MON A HOOPS
just as you said at the end. when Juranovic and GG wanted to leave, they already replaced the with Johnston and Oh. that is very good management and vision.
i've been a Celtic fan for decades and i can safely say we must protect Ange at all costs. He's the best thing to happen to this club since Larrsson or O'Neil
Too bad you got no competition. It must be extremely boring winning every year lol. Celtic and rangers should come play some English footy in league 1 or even the fa cup like some Scottish teams used to
@@bhvillaman4401 It’s weird because Celtic are so dominant but get destroyed in group stages in Europe but rangers who are way worse in the league have made quarter finals of europa couple seasons ago and just made the Europa final last season
No, you couldn’t be more wrong , he is fast and gets in some good positions , but I’ve seen players in the 5th tier of Scottish football with a better first touch than maeda
Loving the videos and best of luck with the channel. As a Scot, woking in football in Asia, there are many more in Asia that are continually overlooked out here. Players that could play across the SPFL and mer... and its not just Korea or Japan. There is an ignorance and arrogance from Scottish clubs and this is why many of them struggle terribly to compete.Again, best of luck with the channel.
I agree I knew a cunt who couldn't get a game in Scotland and went on to play first team football in Malaysia and seems to be having a no bad career last time I looked him up
Fantastic analysis of how Celtic's transfer policy has changed under Ange. Really good depth to the video and I think I agree with you on all of that. Re. McCarthy I think you're correct in saying that he was probably the last of the Celtic boards ' buys ' . He is a decent player but his style isnt suited so much to Ange's Celtic sides attacking style of play. Also worth mentioning that Ange hasn't spent much money contrary to common belief, I'm not sure what the figure stands at now but before the last window he was actually in the red when it came to transfer budget, bringing in more cash on transfers out of the club than he had spent on bringing players in. An incredible stat knowing the turnaround of numbers in playing staff was in the 20s out and 20s in. Given that we also sold Juranovic, Giakoumakis and young Robertson in January for around £15 million combined I'd say confidently that Ange has continued this trend. Its exciting, we're unrecognizable from the squad Ange inherited and the football is a joy to watch when we're in full flow and our substitutions coming onto the field are as good as those they're replacing. I think I'm looking at the strongest Celtic squad in my lifetime. Keep up the great videos HH
İ really like all of japanese players that he took. Maeda, Kyogo, Hatate are leaders in work rate, distance covered, and speed in their last JLeague season. Kyogo even the MVP of JLeague if I'm not mistaken. What a great transfer for a cheap price.
Nah you're wrong mate. Ange joined us in June and McCarthy joined in August. But it is widely believed Dermot Desmond is the one who gave McCarthy the contract, not Ange. Ange had nothing to do with the transfer. Just a 'jobs for the boys' contract.
Diego Laxalt would have been unbelievable under ange. There was a cracking player in there. Whole team was underperforming and full of wantaway players. Hardly a place someone new and from a really different country would thrive.
Hmm, a coach coming from the J League in which everyone jokes about “who the hell is that?” Only for him to explode onto the scene. Sounds familiar to this north Londoner 🔴⚪️
The eschewal of Scottish talent has not been highlighted previously and it is important. Obviously Doig would have been a better signing than Bernabei and fulfills requirements for registration rules. Porteous for 500k seems like another no-brainer for back-up, though I'd personally pass on Nisbett.
The decision not to sign Doig seems bizarre. The asking prices is looking like a bargain at this point and I gather he was interested in a move. I think Porteous would be good, but if the plan is for Welsh to develop and be in and around the first team, as it appears to be then I don't mind passing on him. Although as mentioned in the vid, he could have been brought in instead of Kobayashi. Personally I think Nisbett is decent.
I mean I agree. I don't think my video is an analysis of the cost of buying players. The point I'm trying to make at the beginning is how the current manager has been backed in comparison to the past. And I don't think that is driven by profits from player sales.
The only problem is lose the manager done unless like Brighton and Brentford the owner the vision the club have seen the path you can't be dependent on a manager for success unless your a massive club the Ferguson wenger eras are over the model has changed Celtic massive club but players managers will want more. Most games are training matches bar eight a season why bjth club can do well in Europe.
James Mccarthy was brought in for same reason as Hart....Football Experience in the dressing room and training pitch...Joe just excelled into 1st choice with fantastic goalkeeping....but there Experience has been invaluable
I personally think he's been excellent since he arrived, consistently one of our best players. He's very strong and assured at the back while rarely making a mistake. I think most Celtic fans feel a similar way about him.
@@yux.tn.3641 Still outspends every single team in the league combined outside of rangers and yet Celtic fans think it’s some insane achievement winning trebles. Time to prove your worth in Europe like rangers have
@@flashbackfootball1367 you could say that from a domestic perspective but then again he's spent nearly 70 million in fees, more than double his nearest rivals have in the same period. let's face it the real acid test of how good his signings really are is europe and 21 months without a win is a unenviable record for anyone when it comes round in September.
@@bobmcbob8732 It's more like 50million I think? Which I agree is a lot, but the squad needed it and I believe quite a few of his signings will end up fetching massive profits because he buys so shrewdly. And yes, while I know it is a results business and they have indeed not been nearly good enough in Europe, for a long while in truth. But from what I saw performance wise last season, I think Ange can and will get big results in Europe, and I reckon that next season is when that will start to take shape.
It's a realisation that Celtic are at the BOTTOM of the football pyramid and are a stepping stone. Promise any player who signs they can leave after 2 seasons if they sign a 5 year deal. Means club always gets a fee back.
7.5 mil euros. A lot of the prices are in euros coz it was like that on Transfermarkt and I dont know how to change it 😂. So I guess it would be something like £4m.
@David Brady Don't know how thats possible when Scales was signed on August 27th 2021, well over a month after Ange arrived, and made his debut in September 2021.
mcginn, shankland, ferguson, doig,,nisbet and porteous are all prime examples of old firm snobbery towards young scottish players oh and hickey aswell, all moved up a few levels and are killing it,could have been old firm main stays for years like scott brown, kevin thomson, kenny miller, niall mccann and so many others, its actually astonishing that the old firm can watch these players so close up and know they are the best in the league tried and tested yet they rather pay double on someone they know next to nothing about, mcginn could have captained celtic for years and ferguson likewise at rangers, and ive no doubt nisbet could have been as good as griffiths at celtic or miller boyd dodds at rangers
Too bad you got no competition. It must be extremely boring winning every year lol. Celtic and Rangers should come play some English footy in league 1 or even the fa cup like some Scottish teams used to
Celtic under Ange have raked in many millions via player sales out the door and are wealthy club today ..Majority of ANge signigns have turned good with a minority not so good ..Worst signing Celtic have made have been James McCarthy with handing his a 4 yr deal and who was behind this signing and handed him this Desmond ? Anyhow most have been good signings from Ange and as sais he also in the process has made club many millions from players leaving . I feel now a striker is in need as Kyogo shall score goals but he is not a prolific striker and does miss many good cnances a Larsson would score with . We also can do now in close season a goalie and better Cback to partner Vickers with Europe in mind and IF Celtic got them 3 main positions filled with better in door then would be a very good side in Europe also .
Generally hate Celtic (mostly a big chunk of the fanbase) but you can't deny Ange has done a good job there. Don't like the guy, but at least respect his ability.
James Mccarthy has looked decent every time I've seen him play for Celtic. He's just had about 7 other players ahead of him. Ange has a pipeline of cheap Asian labour. He has them work in a sweatshop running back and forth on a field to the sound of a whistle. But Southampton are offering them a way out called a transfer.
Japan is one of the wealthiest countries in Asia, the sweatshops are in China, Vietnam and Indonesia. But given you're an angry racist I doubt you could tell the difference.
