@@alveolate I do, actually. If what i think your saying is using the dragscroll lock function. I find it a lot easier for me to control the camera as opposed to flicking the edges. Allows me to keep my cursor in its most convenient position at all time. I also like the fact that my mouse has side keys that I can use for player/camera movement and attacking.
The take this champ to climb guides are the most asked... have you ever watched a lol stream every third question is what champ is bestto get out of iron... the champion isnt the problem... facepalm
@@manuellanthaler2001 This. This is exactly why those videos are more common, people don’t want to be told what to do and what to practice to get better, they would rather be given a magical insane pick that will carry them out of their elo then be given regimes and instructions on how to climb, not to say people won’t appreciate those too necessarily, but people would rather get the straightforward get out of jail free card than do the time, even if a get of jail free card doesn’t actually look exist.
@@jankengu3428 yesss problem is that sometimes champions are actually that broken so they get this get out of jail for free card and then end up being higher elo than they shoud. Just saying xin zhao and viego when he was new and no one knew how to play against. Now that most people know how to play against viego and he doesnt get randomly fed everywhere i think he isnt that broken anymore but still some champs are free elo inflation
This Guide is literally Incredible, I’ve been looking for something like this forever, the examples of ways to practice and the equivocation to boxing regimes was incredibly thoughtful, literally the most high quality guide I have ever seen put out by the community, I literally cannot trust any other channel for guides and haven’t touched pro guides in years, thank you so much for this, you guys are awesome, keep doing what you’re doing, I appreciate all the content.
Played like that for half a year until I noticed how little i can see of the screen, playing with free cam since. Best decision you can do for playing league.
@@cosmic-insight I switched a while back and it you can do it by holding spacebar as you play and eventually your thumb will get tired so you slowly learn to look around and actively thinking about it every now and then helps too. Personally, I set drag move to one of my mouse buttons so instead of pushing my mouse on the corner of my screen, I press the button and drag the view around. Even if you hold it spacebar more than other people, the ability to let go and move the cam it just a little better than what you used to do and it helps when I play things like Kogmaw or champs that move a lot like Irelia.
I think this is why Shen is such a great champion for new players: he not only teaches you map awareness, but also moving in between attacks. If you are not moving in between each Q AA, then you probably won’t be able to pull your sword through them a second time.
Shen has this stigma around him that he isent a dmg dealer but if u can pull this of u suprise yourself of how mutch dmg he can do with just 1 dmg item.
@@Shiftry87 i stomped several garens, darius or even tryndas or fioras with shen early dmg plus ignite haha. they dont see your dmg coming if they dont know about shen
@@omniphile. Yeah an early possable trick is to run up to the furthest brush and put your sword in it and run back before the enemy top laner shows up. Now u can just line up your sword and get 3 free enpowered autos. Even if u dont wanna go for lvl 1 aggresion u will most likly get the early minion lead and hit lvl 2 first with the enpowered dmg.
Hey Skillcapped, thank you for featuring me, I'm the Kog'Maw ! I wasn't even holding spacebar the whole time lol, I just fight with locked camera x) When I try moving it, it sometimes ruins my kiting :( I'm somewhat close to masters right now, I'll definitely use your advice to try to reach the sacred land ! Love ya 😀
11:50 Skill Capped: Look at how elegantly he swings his camera around Me: Omg but did you see that quadra stun after syndra ult what a perfect setup for his team.
Those are just clickbait to get views. But they're making them because they get a ton of views and take literally 0 effort. And I don't blame them of course, need to make money where it is to be made, good that they still put out proper content even if it's not as profitable.
For the first tip, the auto attack animation cancel, there's an easier and funnier way to train it. Play Draven, against bots first if your not confident enough and in normal for more challenge. Catching those axes require to apply this mechanic all of the times.
For anyone struggling with the camera panning part, I've been using the "Mouse button drag scroll" option (in the "Game" section in settings) for a few years now and I like it a lot. With this you can pan your camera in pretty much any part of the screen by clicking the mouse wheel and dragging, so if the mouse going to the edges is a problem to you, this can be an alternative. It could be not that efficient tho, or even a bad habit, but I find it really comfortable when you get used to it and I haven't had a problem in fairly high elo (masters). Imo it can help people that play with low sensitivity or can't move their mouse too much (wrist injury, lack of room for mouse, etc).
I can't live with this. I think it's a habit from classic Command & Conquer games, or such, but it's a nice way to adjust the camera without moving the mouse so far. Maybe it's because i don't have a lot of mouse sensitivity.
An useful Setup is the "Attack and Click" option, which I use the A key. So I can attack the closest enemy using A key without needing to left or right click it.
You should make a Video about gathering information (using F-Keys, looking at other lanes or your jgl, etc.) This is extremely important and not talked about that much even though its extremely important.
I've been playing for years, watched hundreds of hours of tips, tricks, guides, and coaching, and I have NEVER heard ANY this! Thank you for the free lesson. If you have more stuff like this I may get a subscription after all!
You actually giving examples of how to practice to correct our mistakes is godlike and makes this video extremely effective, almost nobody does that. Not to mention the clear way in which you explain everything, as a new player this is the best guide I've seen so far
I like the recap at the end! And as always, great video ^^ Oh, and a question by the way: on the Jinx replay, we can see a statistics scoreboard at the top-right of the screen. Is this a skillcapped feature?
I am from India and I play on EUW and I get a minimum of 150 to 190 ping in all of my when the other players in the server can be from EU with 60-40 ping so it doesn't even matter if I move or stay I still end up getting hit anyway. (people might ask why don't you play on Garena Singapore the thing is Garena is shit where I usually wait for 2 to 3 mins in the queue in EU I have to wait for 14 to 15mins in Garena to play and if some people dodge then have to wait another couple of minutes I was usually sitting around 20-25 mins in queue and that's why I switched to EU)
I always hold space bar . If i dont i lose track of whats happening and where i am , im used to being in the center and its hard to let go and i get confused especially in a team fight if i try to move my camera
My brother does the spam rightclick liker a maniac thing like it makes him attack faster or something and it makes me cringe off my chair. If i “why dont you kite?” He just says “why?” I tell him “why?” And he just says “i wanna do this” and continues to spam right clicks. His 24 btw
Once I saw someone using numpad to move the camera, I wasn't even aware that it was possible and I told him that. His response: "Everyone has a way to play." Yeah, dude, sure....
Seriously, this is one of the most timelessly useful videos I've seen (that didn't talk about the value of vision ;) ). Also, SC, in reference to the diamond player: "...like lower elo players" Me: .... 😬
Such a great video! I have improved at this significantly.. but I realized more than ever just from watching this video on just how much I still do it! Thank you!
Back in s3-4 i was a vayne main, loved the champ but kinda sucked at kiting so i realised in order to git gud i had to practice on every single auto, whether it be minions, monsters, champs or even towers. Over the years i developed this habit they're talking about, moving between every single auto and now it is so natural to me that i can't not do it, even on champs with irrelevant autos like vlad ;p i'm now master and i honestly thought even plat players did this
me mega chad over here using attack auto on left click and lock camera. i dont know why you didnt tell people you can hit the mouse wheel button to pull your camera like it so much better there is very litltle movement
im starting to think that the little mini game that draven plays is a training method for teaching adc , while at the same time can be a really good method for training a support to leash. but not nearly as good as watching this video.
Hey Skillcapped, you mentioned camera movement in this video. I usually always play with camera on, but see serious limits due to this. Do you have any videos on this topic?
You can also change it in your settings so that instead of moving your mouse great distances to nudge your camera, you just press MMB and move the mouse towards the side you want to view the most by just moving it a little bit.
You might wanna try semi locked camera. This mode lets you move the camera, but only so far that the character remains on screen. This way you can hold space and only need to adjust the camera once to look ahead then it follows your tighter movements.
Thank you so much!!! Just started playing again after a few years and everything you take up in this vid has been driving me crazy last few weeks ( and 6-7 years ago) Time to go in practice mode! Youre awesome!!
4:09 having more attack speed will help to a degree, btu can also confuse and mask the effect and idea to a new player. I recommend starting with the champion they choose, and learning an auto attack reset combo. Once they get the idea of squeezing the extra AA in without the full wait time (cancelling a frame/action) it "clicks" for a lot more people.
funnily enough, i lock my screen from nudging and use drag scroll and semi locked- it makes it VERY easy to play around the camera movement while also keeping my character movement free, because i dont have to make nearly as wide of a mouse jump to move the camera
Just here to say be carefull with clicking a lot, i'm 24 y/o i've been spending most of my time on PC and playing games and i now have tendinitis on my index and middle fingers it make my fingers hurts and so i avoid playing games by now...
There is also possibility instead of nudging the camera by the screen edge to set-up the drag on middle mouse (scroll) and move it like that, much smoother and less mouse movement. You can keep the mouse pointer centered and close to the character or who ever you are targeting.
This is probably the most helpful guide I have seen in this channel after discovering it two years ago. Back when I was new everything was helpful so that probably doesn't count. I find these type of guides more helpful than laning matchup and champion guides.
What would you say to the use of gamepads that have a joystick for camera control? I use a Razer nostromo and use the thumb stick for camera control so I never have to move my mouse away from my character or target.
I have seen people do this and idk how it feels, but if you train it enough it should be good probably. Maybe it's fine for nudging your camera up and down. But you'll need to be able to pull the other mechanics off, so mouse movement is still important.
Press A to input an attack command instead of right clicking on the target. Prioritises champions near towers and also its easier to attack targets since you dont have to be precisely on them
Am I the only one that never uses right-click to attack at all? I just press the button under my thumb to only target champions then just press "A" :| I used to play ADC a lot and too often I accidentally clicked the floor causing me to step forward too far and well... Back to base it was...
I watched this video like idk couple of months ago, and watching it now, AUUU, MY EYES HURTED FROM THE JINX XD. I is indeed painfully obvious what she was doing wrong, it actually hurt xD
A question i would like to have an opinion on. I use the razer mouse with buttons to play LoL (so my skills are on my mouse), So i don't use QWER on my keyboard. Instead, i use AWSD (movement in FPShooters) to move my camera. And 123456 (on keyboard) To use items. So I don't have any problem with panning. But the problem is that it takes a little bit more time to put in skill sequences (because you only use 1 finger for your input) Mainly not a big problem except for insane flash moves. But what do you think? better to pan with mouse and use keyboard for skills, or keyboard for movement and mouse for skills?
So... I already know plenty of people are going to mention this but I'm going to say it anyway. “Am for the feet”? Velkoz, Cassio, Yummi. Oh! Nami. I'm sure there is more. Maybe hit boxes need an upgrade. Your telling me in the middle of 2021 we don't have target-and-hit registry that conforms tightly to the entire character model? (without using straight lines).
The section on click frequency and range is so dogshit lol. Comparing Jinx and Draven then deliberately making the click circle of Jinx bigger than the actual circle of her movement commands, when in actuality it was barely bigger than Draven's, on a champion with longer range autos who was actively fishing for rocket poke in the clip. Then comparing a Tryndamere who has much tighter clicks than the Draven and saying his clicks are obviously bad and too far, even though they're closer to him than the Draven's. Then not acknowledging that one of the big differences in skill level on mechanically intensive champs is click speed, and that some people just don't have it. Then, for some reason, comparing Chovy Irelia where he's mainly imputting spell cast commands without clicking at all, and talking about clicking too much vs enough. Like what, the guy isn't even in the situation where clicking more is being encouraged, and everything he's doing is actually relelvant to mouse speed and precision which is a skill/ability that's a factor of coordination, hand speed/acceleration, and practice. It's not even relevant to clicking. Sure, people can optimise their clicking but some of this is just shitty narritive creation to suit the point, rather than providing actual examples. Definitely some good stuff here but are we really going to spew the bullshit when in a provided example of good mouse usage, Faker issues movement commands further from his character than any of them?
The morgana example was complete bs 😂 First the morgana throws it straight into the Diana and on the next one the morgana throws it to the side all fucked 🤣 Try to keep track of his mouse.. uhm that hand is camouflaged into the background and is pretty tiny so no I don't think most people even see it and those mouse movements are a bit exaggerated even I wasn't doing that when I started league.
5:30 ??? WTF ? I understend but wtf ? the morgana Q going on far away from ur champion than previous so wha's the difference ? nothing u save like maybe 0,02 sec moving ur mouse corectly close to your champion but nothing more :D
Skill Capped: 7:26 - "I want you to watch this insane play he makes in real time and see if you can keep up with his mouse"(About Chovy) Me: I can also move my mouse like that, and just like in this Chovy Replay I also completely lose track of it during Teamfights hehehe xD my brain can do the movement but my eyes can't keep track of the mouse cursor between all those particles and everything that is going on in a Teamfight
It's odd as a complete newbie seeing that people would hard-press spacebar. Guessing it's the same as gripping a handle too hard or the like when auto-piloting irl and in a stressful situation. I would assume its best use-case is for snapping back after cycling your F-keys. It's still something good to think about, however. Glad you covered it to get us thinking about it consciously, as it's obviously an unconscious movement for these players that feels "safe" or "controlled".
Even tho I am aware of the solution, I still to this day struggle landing skillshots on "flying" champs, such as syndra, zilean, janna. I swear they are massively off-centered compared to champs that walk on the gorund.
Skill Capped will make you destroy your mouse by increasing clicking frequency so they can soon start selling their own gaming gear to their customers... Well, clever thinking challengers! Good business idea! ♥
So, I noticed during the Morg example clip: During the First example, Morg aimed it right at the entrance of Dragon pit. Second Clip, She aimed it further to the mid lane, Like WTF Skillcapped
Assuming that you can do 2 clicks faster than your attack speed, yeah, it works. But if not, your are loosing dmg. We all guessed the theory. I'm a new player and didn't had trouble understanding what a challenger streaming was doing. Kitting and relocating is ingrained in their game play, either so they won't stay still and be easy targets for abilities, either to kite, either to optimize dmg and movement and sometimes just because ... But doing it myself is another story.
I need to practice proper camera movement. I'm guilty of locking my camera to my champion at the start and clicking on the mini map when I need info that's not near my champion. Though even then I often forget to check the map. It's probably why I panic or whiff plays as I'm moving my mouse too far when I don't need to or too little and keeping empty space focused on more. I do unlock it sometimes as opposed to when I never did so for when I need to aim a skillshot or make sure I use certain abilities like blinks properly.
As an osu! player (5 digit using mouse not tablet), the benefits for aim in fps aren't that high (other than increased reaction time), but it actually helps massively for accurate clicks in league.
Click faster, but no too fast. Keep your camera close, but also on the edge of the screen. Attack the enemy, but also don't attack the enemy. Win the game, but don't kill the nexus.
i have only played for 6 months and all this was common sense..... ive been doing it since i started the game... lord how fucking bad are people in this game? im legit about to get out of bronze and enter silver today, then im off to gold. 6 months and neeko main only stomping these players who have been on this for years.... level 50 stomping a level 200+
i was looking for a way to drag my camera the same way you can in dota 2. ..... you can only corner push or push. great now my habits are gone be fucked for one of the two games. i could not belive league pros actualy move there camera's by moving your mouse to the corner.
I'm watching one challenger youtuber who used to be an elo booster and for a time the best Vlad in the world. He always plays with a locked camera and does not have a high click frequency.. But still dodging like Faker and carrying every game
i use a sidebutton on my mouse when I want to nudge my camera ( instead of making my mouse take a trip outside of screen I can nudge wherever my mouse is, at any 360 angle direction) not sure if this is considered good though
Well If i hold Right click the champion just follow my cursor and if i try to spam click it becomes super jittery and unallowing me to dodge or walk effitivly enough. I have no idea how to turn it off so can you help me?
