Great idea, and we have talked about it. The hard part is, it is super, super tough to demonstrate any differences in a video. They be extremely subtle. Honestly, it's my opinion that the variation between a solid body and a chambered one sometimes isn't any greater than the differences between two solid bodies of the same wood species. Other guys believe that chambered have a more open, or "airy" tone. Either way, it's almost impossible to get such subtle things across in a video. The good news is that Warmoth currently offers the 30 day no-risk return policy on their chambered bodies, so you can buy one, string it up, and hear it in the real world. If you don't like it, send it back.

+bentertainment115 Yes, you can get the back bursted on most any burst we offer. Usually you have your choice of a solid-color back, or a matching burst on the back.

Carbon fiber rods are available in our bass necks, but not guitar. I love the spoke-wheel truss rod too! They are not available in Warmoth necks yet. You can get Strat®; replacement necks with either a round or square end, but the Tele®-style square end on a Strat®-style neck is a call-in option only at this time. Give us a call and we'll hook you up with that!

Hoot Owl yeah they’re just called bolt-on necks though, even though it’s wrong. Like how the tremolo arm is actually vibrato. Nobody really cares though cause it doesn’t really cause any confusion

I'll second that! Once you go warmoth neck, you cant go back.

+Retnu16 I believe you can order a Strat® replacement body with no contours and double-binding if you call in and request it. It would be a total custom, non-returnable order....but we can do it.

+James Robinson I believe you can specify a custom edge radius on certain bodies, but it is a call-in option only.

A chambered Strat-style body will still balance fine in standing position.

I think it would help with installing heavier humbuckers but good point.

I've got a chambered Warmoth strat and have never noticed any neck dive. I just notice that it's a joy to play 9:00 PM to 1:30 AM gigs with! In fact, I'm ordering up another body to swap into a partscaster superstrat I built nearly 30 years ago that has somehow gotten heavier with age. MY age!

@@vincezema94 I'm having the same problem! All my stuff is gaining weight! I picked up a saw the other week, and I swear it doubled in weight since the last time I picked it up! It's crazy!😂

+Case Wildenberg Warmoth is located in beautiful Puyallup, Washington...about 45 minutes south of Seattle.

The ones I have played have sounded very resonant, but it's all subjective. They definitely didn't sound like semi-hollows to me. They sounded much closer to their solid-body counterparts. Honestly, I'm not sure I could differentiate the one I'm playing in the video from a solid one in a blind test. (Assuming someone else was playing it and I couldn't feel the weight.) The truth is, the only way to know how a given body will sound is to build it up and play it. The good news is that Warmoth currently offers the 30 day return policy on their chambered bodies, so you get a chance to hear it in the real world.

We are constantly putting parts together and taking them apart again. I don't think that guitar exists any longer. :) I do know the color of the body though: Tigers Eye Dye. @@warmoth Thanks for the reply. How would this work? I have looked through your options I have only seen the chambered strat option. In order to get a semil hollow version would I need to contact your company directly?

That would be the ultimate in a lightweight body! Chambering reduces the weight of a body by at least 25%.

Not really. Some feel it changes the tone. That may be true, but whether that's for better or worse is purely subjective. The one thing you can say for certain is they are much lighter and easier on the back/shoulder. I have played and owned many chambered and non-chamber guitars, and I don't think there are any hard and fast conclusions that can be drawn. Each guitar has to be evaluated on it's own merits. For example, the best sounding Les Paul I own is chambered, and only weighs 7.8 pounds.

Yep!

I don't think that body has any binding on it. Looks more like they have stained the top then routed off the stain to reveal the natural colour of the wood and clear coated it. Usually this is referred to as a "faux binding". :)
