I would not applaud her. This video is nothing more than propaganda. 0 mention of the damage caused by Saudi Arabia's airstrikes, 0 mention of the blockade created by the US and Saudi Arabia which is the cause of the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and 0 mention that those who started the war are Saudi Arabia, the US and their allies. This is just propaganda to justify arms sales to Saudi Arabia.
@@epicadus8722 Right, propaganda by omission. I was hoping Vice would detail more about US involvement but the video seems more focused on a reactionary standpoint

The way the kids described the shelling is terrifying. Like they are so unfazed by the horrible act they saw and they say it so graphically. It has become so common for them to witness. It's so sad
no, they said it was the first time they saw somebody die. but they have grown up during the war, they have always heard people talking about it and they have seen the damage, so it's all normal to them.
They cope.. one way or another. You don't really have a choice.. it's that or dying/giving up. It's neither healthy nor sustainable but it's the only thing they can do.

This is nothing but propaganda in favour of the Saudi war effort. They only bring up the people killed by the Houthis and only apply blame to the Houthis. They completely ignore the Saudi bombing and starvation campaigns that have killed far more people than mortar strikes have in this war. They barely bring up the fact that the Hadi government is a puppet of the Saudis. Also, they blame the Houthis for continuing to "push the war" when they know full well that the Houthis would be killed en masse if they surrendered. This is bad journalism and it's sad to see so many people praising it.
@@Abdullah-kp4ku I'm talking about the specifics of this video. it's framed as if the Houthis could just stop the war if they wanted to, which is blatently not the case.

This is some of the craziest combat journalism I’ve seen done by vice, or anyone. Filming fairly close motor impacts is something that is rarely caught by a news crew’s camera.
There are quite a few journalists who do that kind of reporting, however they are usually not part of the big media so it´s hard to find their reports.

It's a work uniform. If she didn't wear a hijab, you wouldn't have had the opportunity to learn from the people interviewed. With that said, I still don't see how wearing a hijab precludes someone from bravery. She literally interviewed both sides of an ongoing proxy war and went to the front line. Ok, but is no one going to talk about the insane amount of work and mathematics it took to determine the angle of trajectory, the path of the mortar, and who was responsible. Like, they didn't have to do that much work, but they did. Mad respect!
There's some clever propaganda throughout the video and it's extremely subtle. They neglect to mention the context of the conflict, the massive blockade, the backstory behind the conflict itself, the foreign powers with a stake in the region, the geopolitical blueprints that the proxy conflict follows, and several other current events in the region that are relevant to the series of events themselves. Regarding the case you're describing, they neglected to include some information to "prove" their case. This is irrelevant as an event, but they used it as a crucial part of the storyline presented as unbiased and objective, but not inclusive of all details which should have been included. TLDR: it was a great video, but inclusive of subtle propaganda and not objective whatsoever.

Is there going to be part 2 of this story? So far its only about what happened to the anti houthi side of things, I want to see if there is going to be a video about what houthi have to go through
I mean its probably pretty jubilant. They pushed the Saudis to the bargaining table. The UAE are effectively out. Their port is reopened so Iranian munitions can flow in. They no longer have to worry about the Saudi Air Force doing really anything anymore after years of punishing their military and civilians (and largely occupied civilian population given they probably dropped their most tonnage on Sana'a which is not Houthi). The only question for them is if they stop once they take Taiz and Marib and try to go to the negotiating table then or try a costly siege on Aden to finish the war outright. Just shows what a highly motivated, and well trained irregular military with robust special forces support from a nation competent in proxy wars (and Iran has shown they are very, very good at this) and accomplished against an unorganized and unmotivated forced even with superior firepower.

I just didn’t like when the camera man was intentionally trying to show 17:36 that there is a Saudi campaign to help build the school. This is showing how this video was mainly funded by KSA which is the reason for the continuing of this war. I hope this gets corrected next time. Overall, it’s heartbreaking let’s help end the war now!
It was built by Saudi Arabia. Like hundreds of schools and hospitals built by Saudi in Yemen. Did the houthis build any such projects? No, they put these little children on the front lines and had them killed. Imagine this: no houthi rebels. The war would end and it would be just like it has been for the past 30 years. Saudi has always existed, never invaded Yemen. The Houthis came= war came.
