not going to happen anytime soon it feels like. In my mind, Israel had a chance for decades to have the entire region prosper. Israel was wealthy enough. Instead just continued repression, giving religious fanaticism ample opportunity to fester. Education and security is the best antidote to violence and religious fanatism. If people are happy, they tend to blow themselves up less often. But Israel just didn't care and it never will and instead of fighting fundamentalism with education and compassion they'd rather just become ultra fundamentalist themselves and settle MORE land. They just can't chill. Even then, I KNOW that a lot of people in the region are just full of hate and even if Israel would have been a chill country for the last 50 years, some people would still wish israel to cease existing.
