Not sure if your camera is different for some reason. However I have the Ferret Pro and I think you have one of the adapters already in the camera. Unscrew the brass adapter and it should then accept any of the Super Rods. The ferret pro works fine with all the rods I have and the short flexi rod that comes with the ferret.
You made that rodding look really easy. I'd have been fannying about with that for hours! Haven't seen the Shelly things before, they look really useful.
They downlights look spot on I’ll need to try them next time I’m doing a soffit job that’s tight for space. Never heard of they Shellys before but pretty cool and will need to give them a bash at some point as well. Cracking video as always mate 👍🏻
@@Cablesmith I am indeed an electrician. But I don't do domestic or commercial anymore. About 10 years ago I took a job as a maintenance electrician in a factory. So I deal with plc's, and inverters most day's.
@@Cablesmith Wouldn't say that mate. From watching your, Nick B, Crj and Artisan. I've learned a lot about new stuff on the market for domesic like those shelly relays today. Watch you lot work makes me miss doing proper sparky work.
Great job m8. It's often how you get over these obstacles and you nailed it again. Lights look cracking 👌 plus love your logo on that door..... if only eh? 😁 Niceeeeee ... 👍
Shelly devices have an eco mode that has a secret… a secret worthy of a Big Clive video! They (Shelly 1+) use about 1w normally, 0.7w in eco, and less than 0.1w in eco with Bluetooth and the Shelly named local hotspot disabled! This means a well setup Shelly uses 1:20 the power of a mechanical mains timer while idle. They also support astronomical timing schedules locally, so you can have lights come on a hour before sunset, and off at 1am completely natively. (I only buy the 1+ and 1+pm devices, the round ones are a previous generation, and the 1L senses 4v inducted voltage on mains switching.)
Great video, thanks. That Shelley device looks pretty useful - not seen it before, but there is a full range of various interesting devices on their website.
Thanks Steve, yes, this is actually the first one I’ve fitted myself, but I’ve also got a friend that used one on his own house a few months back and no issues. Some clever little devices on their range
Another great video, shame about the inspection camera,I bought a Depstech endoscope camera from Amazon for around £30 to look for a leak under my bathroom bathroom floor, didn't think it would be up to much for that price but it's brilliant and it has 4 meters of flexible cable with various end to attach to it
Fair play on this one mate, simple job made very fiddly by lack of access…..sterling performance with that rod and chain! Might have to get myself that kit, looks damn useful 👍🏼 Those Ansell mini spots do look smart!
Shelly devices rock just re wired my house with shelly Pro2s (din rail) all lighting back to a panel build. The Pro series can be connected with cat 5 so don't have to rely on WiFi
@@Cablesmith id post a pic if i could. Works extremely well I'm using volt free switching on the relays with lovely schnieder retractive face plates. You should check out Shelly Europe same very good value products.
The Shellys are great, I have about 15 of them around the house. The newer versions don't require L and I to be bridged out. They work nateivly with alot of smart home systems and are a European company!
Someone has just pointed this out to me 🤦🏻♂️ didn’t think one would be pre fitted ! It was mega tight too because I tried with just my fingers first time haha
Great product that Shelly device. I wonder they could add an option of a Quinetic-style switch to control it as well as the physical switch. Would that be useful? By the way, you are auto-replying to a bunch of spam comments 😜
I’ve actually got a soffit light job coming up where I’ll also be using the Quinetic with the Shelly ! How strange you asked. It will work the same (I presume, never tested just got the wiring diagram in my mind) 😂 Oh, and I know about the spam 😂 I’m just joking back for people to laugh at haha
@@Cablesmith no worries I think there is different brass bits for different size rods for example m4 m5 m6 thread. I'm not 100% on the sizes but I know my kit came with them
@@matthewfortune919 I’ve just been to check mine, as I knew they had the size adapters in the pack but didn’t expect one to be pre fitted but your right !! Thanks dude 👏🏼 it was bloody tight to get off tho, I was going to use my grips on it during this video but didn’t want to damage anything if I planned to return it. But yea, your right so thanks for that ! 🙌🏻
I have same problem with that insert from the Ferret camera. I thought my had a defect but it looks that is a lot problem. As you said £150 to get something that not works, very dissatisfied about Ferret.
Someone commented about that just being an adapter for different brands of rods, so I’ve been to check and they’re right 🤦🏻♂️ it comes off but it’s bloody tight !!
