But now AI can generate new songs in any genre in seconds, even replicating your favorite singer! What's not to love?

This performance was outstanding. The Spinners is one of the greatest groups of All time and my personal favorite. Thank You Thom Bell for producing some of the best music. Rest in Peace Henry Famborough, Pervis Jackson, Billy Henderson, Philipeé Wynne, Bobby Smith and Thom Bell.

the Spinners were an awesome Soul/ R&B vocal group and they also had a great backing band helping them out on tour and doing tv tapings like here thank you. 🎵🎶🎼💞🎼🎶🎵

One thing about bringing these "Midnight Special" episodes to RU-vid is that I missed a lot of these growing up, great history.

Thank you so much for making this available, I have a wonderful memory of seeing this line up in the UK as part of the Atlantic soul package and they were fabulous, such great voices and with Thom Bell and Linda Creed writing and producing such amazing songs they couldn’t fail. Phillipe Wynne was a force of nature that evening too, a magnificent soul voice and this video shows me that my memories of a great night weren’t false.

What great times the 70's were in music and showmanship. Pure talent, no filler, no backing tracks, or lip singing. Just a whole lot of fun and joy.

I love the Spinners not taking anything away from the voices. However, the large sound of a Hammond B3 organ really brings it home, making it R&B for me.

Man, I love the choreography from bands from this era WAY more than nowadays. I think the modern-day over production started with Madonna perhaps. But if I see a concert nowadays I just think that, if there’s TOO much choreography, they’re trying to baffle me with Bull s-t. In other words, they’re trying to make me listen less to the music by having all this dancing to hide vocal flaws. But these guys are pretty entertaining. If you want to see really funny stuff though watch some Amy Winehouse videos with her dancers-slash-backup singers. They were awesome! They were really good but comical too.

This gives a great visual for the track that appears on their double disc anthology, though that cut has the crowd erupt way more during the tribute rap part.

Back when entertainers actually entertained! Pure talent along with hard work earned success. Today, money buys a temporary spotlight. All you need is good looks add auto tune and pitch correction to a repetitive beat and weak lyrics and you get today’s music. Name a group today that sounds like this… Sad not one exists.
@AdrianDeVore
@AdrianDeVore Месяц назад
Also, today's music is heavily focused solely on the beat at the expense of other rudimental parts of musical development.

At 0:48 I think he reminds me a bit of Phillip Bailey. I’m guessing these guys were an inspiration for Phillip who might be the greatest singer ever in the genre.
