But I’m a biologist, I study genetics daily. 2 white people cannot produce a child with black skin. This is because dark melanin is dominant over light. So if the parents were carrying a gene for dark skin- they themselves would have dark skin. 2 dark-skinned people though, could potentially have a light-skinned baby if the baby inherited only the recessive traits! This doesn’t happen very often though of course, and we can determine that chance through punnet squares- but yeah this video is extremely oversimplified in even how they show the punnet squares since skin colour is a polygenic trait which means it’s controlled by multiple genes. Secondly, this does not explain how diverse our population actually is now because those 8 people could not repopulate the earth in a healthy way due to inbreeding. So we would lack an immense amount of genetic diversity if it really happened like that. Yet, we DO have tons of genetic diversity. We also don’t even need to get into “how did the people on the boat repopulate the earth” since we know that Noah’s ark did not actually happen. There are mountains of geological evidence disproving that as well as the fact that the story does not explain how sea creatures survived, like did they take coral and sea cucumbers and whales onto the boat too? Because if not, they would have all died due to the salinity of fresh water and saltwater waters mixing. We also would have to assume that every animal on the boat had every type of parasite and disease and pathogen that are species-specific since they are still around today. This includes all STI’s. All of the people would have to have all of them collectively lol. There are many more questions here that have never been answered by religious people that don’t make sense. I’m an atheist now, but I was raised in the catholic faith so we were taught the bible and Jesus, etc. but even my teachers there admitted that Noah’s ark and Adam and Eve were just stories, not facts. Evolution is real. Anyone who denies that is denying direct objective observable evidence. It’s as simple as: why do you think you become resistant to antibiotics if you take too much of them? Because bacteria evolves. And I have literally watched it happen in real time under a microscope. I forgot where i read, but some scholars have proposed that maybe Noah wasn't the only family to survive, but since they literally could only see each other and thought the world was destroyed, then they would record they were the only group to survive. The Bible is, after all, from a Hebrew perspective. But it is possible for other groups to have survived the flood. I like to think so, too
