@@maxscameraguyfunny I thought the job of a prosecutor was to pursue justice, but this would make it seem like simply causing a person to be incarcerated would be seen as a suscess in fulfilling their duty. It's almost as if the penal system doesn't actually exist to enforce an egalitarian rule of law. Curious no?

This is also a textbook example of why there should be no death penalty. Imprisoning an innocent person is terrible but at least there is the possibility of letting a man out if you can find new evidence or win an appeal. Whereas once someone is executed there’s no way you can attempt to reverse what you have done
@hillbillypowpow

Not only did a dozen cops pull their guns on an innocent man and his child daughter, but after he was found on the tape THEY STILL PURSUED THE CHARGES. utterly despicable, inhuman behavior. They had to have been presented the tapes for it to be admitted to evidence, they literally had to have seen that the man was undeniably elsewhere when the crime they were charging him for happened and they wouldn't drop the case. That is a nearly unfathomable level of both malice and incompetence, there's simply no other way to see it.
@sonewwave8923

Also insane to hear that the cops/prosecutor didn’t want to “lose” the case. As if incorrectly incarcerating and possibly killing a man would be a “win” just because they wouldn’t have to admit they were wrong.

Hmmm, now I don't know if I trust the prosecutors about those other people they arrested subsequently

So he would have been convicted and sentenced to DEATH without the tape? Is the justice system this broken? Got to rethink capital punishment if the DA is this incompetent or at worse this corrupt.

This has always been a legendary story. It’s kinda of a shame that we didn’t get to see he defeat and lawyer cameo on the CYE finale, considering how the last episode was mostly in a court room It would have been a wonderful Sean song if they were extras, as members of the jury

There almost certainly would have been security camera footage and a ton of other indications he was at the game (like the people sitting next to him), but this is a fantastic way to exonerate a guy!

And yeah, it's absolutely outrageous that the prosecutor didn't immediately withdraw the case once they saw the footage.
