Use a rubber eraser wheel for decals, won’t touch the paint unless you press too hard.

While I absolutely love krylon fusion for plastics, Rust-Oleum is a far superior paint as far as durability and not fading over time. This is coming from a graffiti artist with years of experience with different paints and seeing trains we paint come back around years later...rusto looks good, krylon always faded away.

Definetly agree. Rust OLEUM is the real deal. Holds up very well.

It’s a little late for the tip but I use a thin plastic drop cloth and cover up the spots I use the paint stripper. I stick the plastic to it and it doesn’t evaporate nearly as fast and the stripper penetrates way deeper in the paint. I also use the pressure washer to wash it all off.

And if you will notice, by turning your carpet different ways during the install, the carpet fibers take on a different look, when, facing different ways, almost to the point of looking like different shades of color. Notice bolt in the lids and front deck from back deck. When you start, keep all of your carpet, laying the same way. Good idea to draw arrows on the back of the carpet, facing one way, that way you will always know which way the front of the boat is in relationship to the carpet you are working with. Doing that will make all the carpet lay the same way, and it will all look like the exact same shade.

I painted my 16 ft Starcraft with rattle cans ...looks great . Main thing for good finish is prep and cleaning surface .

I’m waiting to paint my boat until I get my vehicle situation figured out because I also want it to match my truck. Once I sell my truck and replace it I’ll paint my boat.

I'd like to know how you kept all of the paint stripper sno't off your driveway? And next time to get your decals off use a heat gun to warm them up once you get them started they should peel right up as long as you keep them warm.... And yes I Work with vinyl often

Denatured alcohol can remove stickers and adhesive residue in many cases. Be sure to test it won't remove other things like paint you want to keep.

For removing stickers try a stripe eraser. Mounts on a drill used on slow speed will roll them right off. Used to sell them when I worked in a body shop supply store. Customers really appreciated them for their time savings.

I used the wheel when I worked for the Border Patrol. Removing cop style decals was a big job and the wheel made it cake...

Use either a heat gun, heart dryer, blowtorch, or rubber eraser tool for decals and any vinyl. That way you won’t destroy the shit out of your finish.

I just put some pour foam into the front of my boat and would like to know if it is ok to add some Quad Foam OSI to a few small areas to fill up a few areas where the water could pool up on top of the pour foam? Thanks

Dont use that paint . use alumaseal its marine paint made just for jon boats comes in jon boat green and grey. Already has the primer in it and made just for aluminum jon boats. 65.00 aprox and it will do the whole boat. Only need reducer to go with it and spray gun.
