*Wanted to clarify a small detail I did not make clear in the video, if you attempt to clean the maf sensor by going through the front I have had mixed success in that some of the caps seem to be stuck on with adhesives while others seem to come off easier.

Damn dude your the first to I believe to address it this way I was just on eBay checking one out for my 2008 Saturn Aura I bought one over a year ago and just recently started getting a P0171 and P0172 codes at the same time and it couldn’t be anything but that damn cheap MAF sensor and according to a mechanic website this means it’s typically from a bad sensor causing both codes at the same time man thanks again a lot I will definitely go with OEM Bosch or AC Delco instead

@rosieclark3661 I am glad this helped the situation. It is very interesting how a lot of other european cars seam to use exactly the same sensor, I am 90 percent sure I could make one from an audi or bmw work with a sprinter van

Why is the S in Bosch backwards on your original hot thin film MAF sensor?

This is an amazing observation, I can assure you it is spelled correctly on the sensor, the combination of it being upsidedown and camera inversed caused it to look normal, so its back to front and upside down, a cool camera effect I suppose, All the letters look fine upsidedown except for S

As a mechanic for 15 years at an independent workshop i can tell you Mercedes HATE anything but the OEM sensor. Other than that most cars will "accept" it BUT will use more fuel. If you don't buy OEM try to find the supplier for OEM sensors and those work just the same but cheaper. And on some cars, especially Mercedes you must use a computer to reset the self adaption when changing or cleaning it. There are several service bulletins on this.

Well said, the problem is with these you get a mercedes part number on the outside and the bosch part number can only be seen when you cut the sensor out, not like the old style where the sensor is held into the housing with screws. so mercedes makes it difficult to source from bosch directly. In this I am not sure if we can say this sensor with cause it to run rich although with many fake sensors I am certain this happens.
