I really wish Joe Schriber wrote more Star Wars books. His dark style and Gory fight scenes really stand out from other Star Wars books.

The fact that a Vong warrior gave Darth Maul such a hard fight, really shows how formidable the Yuuzhan Vong were. The fact that Maul was still able to win, despite only fighting with his bare hands, truly shows how formidable Maul was

I think it would have been pretty tough for the Sith. Let's face it, they would have probably been killing each other just as fast as the Vong would have been killing them. Although, the Sith would have probably been more proactive at engaging them.

The Sith would've certainly done a better job at combating the Vong. They're faced with an enemy that wants to kill them just as much as they want to kill them- a unified Sith are deadly. The Republic learnt this prior to the Treaty of Coruscant. With a guiding hand pointing them at a single enemy- they excel. It was only when the war lessened, and Power Plays took over- that the Republic was able to fight back and defeat the Sith. The Vong wouldn't be able to do this; because the Sith wouldn't seek peace. Only death!

That outro made me think my phone was messing up. I was just getting my money out for the bus and heard part with the dog and didn't know what was going on.

He was probably an expendable sent to see just how dangerous the galaxy's worst can be. Or maybe a 'shamed one' that got exiled for taking his mutilation mods too far.

I've been wanting this book for a while now, not only do I want it more, but you've made me see my favorite character in Star Wars as an even bigger badass.

Oh wow, I never actually realized that the fight in the book was with a member of the Vong. I'm reading in chronological order for legends, so I haven't actually read anything about the Vong yet.

I think it's safe to assume that if Maul was around during the Vong invasion, they would have been too scared to come close to the galaxy.

Imagine if the Vong had shown up during the old republic. Woulda turned that world ship around in no time flat after all those Sith and jedi showed up. -Plus the Siths Starforge would have probably pushed them back outproducing them with the help of the republic.

I loved Darth Maul in that book. Also, if General Grievous was Force sensitive, and had the Geinosians not tweeked his brain, he would have been unstoppable and quite a force to be reckoned with in the Yuuzhan Vong war.

Could you imagine a Yuuzhan Vong Sith Lord, if they weren’t cut off from the force this would be more scary then any of the previous Sith Lords to ever exist.

I’m honestly inclined more to believe that Maul was victorious here because of his insane physique and almost animal like fighting style, Sith as a whole are more brutal, but they are also more rash which will get you killed in a heart beat against the Vong

I agree that the Sith would have dealt with the Yuuzhan Vong better. While there are many philosophies of the Sith, one ancient philosophy of old was that Sith seek power in all its forms, not only the Force. Wealth, influence, armies, and little to no morality to bind them, they would not hold back against the Vong. Even better, some of the biomechanical constructs of the Vong might be turned against them by the Sith, who would be willing to exploit them to their fullest extent. The Sith would also care little for saving civilians or holding back on superweapons or strategic weapons. Of course, this is going by the model of numerous competing Sith existing, not the Rule of Two. While the end product of the Rule of Two, Palpatine, would certainly prove fearsome with Force Storms, he would probably struggle to be everywhere with his clones, and said clones, being identical, could have the same weaknesses and fall prey to specialized tactics and bioweapons crafted by the Vong. Other Force organizations in Palpatine's time would either be on the run from him, or be subservient Dark Siders whose potential was capped and monitored so they cannot challenge him.

I never knew Maul slayed one of these beasts. He's one tough SOB.

I don't watch many of your legends videos but when something special comes along I tune in as soon as possible and I remeber when u had like 10k subs

Tiny detail but I really love the way the Vong was described, as a mysterious and unclassified alien creature but has enough hints to know exactly what it is.

This just gives me a TON more respect for Obi-Wan.

What if you were placed in the Star Wars universe and galaxy with all your Star Wars knowledge during the clone wars would you serve as a prophet to the Jedi revealing palpatine as the Sith Lord or warn them of the yuuzhan vong invasion (legends universe)

Most likely effective characters against Yuzhan Vong • Grand Admiral Thrawn • Any Wookiee ( Chewbacca was incredible until he died in legends) • General Grievous • Galen Marek( Incredible Force Lighting) • Anakin Skywalker although his force powers wouldn’t do much but his skills were incredible • Jango Fett ( Flame thrower)

Great video as always. You weren't half kidding about the extract being brutal. Being killed by the severed head of your poisonous snake being stuffed in your mouth is... Um... Imaginative, if not a little bit heavy. Maul was a little careless, he underestimated his foe and almost didn't live long enough to regret it. But he did defeat a Vong soldier, so he did pretty good.

I think that the sith would be better against the invasion. Darth maul is one of my favorite characters and after hearing this, makes me believe that the sith would be better suited for the invasion. Thank you for this awesome video, keep it up.

At first I hated the Vong. Then they became epic antagonists. They were perfect for the series and I'm sad that they have been thrown away. It was nice to see the Galaxy have to unite to fight a common enemy

Bruh, we need a single player action RPG where you play as Maul from a young warrior and the final mission is you vs Obi Wan/Qui Gon, and after you have the mechanical legs and it goes off from there so you keep roaming planets.
