NO. There is absolutely ZERO chance Padme would be into Anakin without her knowing how much he hates sand, and this circumvents that extremely important plot point.
No joke I recently rewatched the Prequels and that moment stood out to me as Anakin defining himself as Sand or maybe his life in that it’s rough and irritating but unlike himself Padme is soft and loving, while he’s the warrior who’ll attack first ask questions later she’s the type of person to always ask why or how before attacking.
@@luciustennin6936 Yeah, people like to ignore the symbolism. It's not his own life that's necessarily rough and irritating though, it's his past. Anakin grew up as a slave on a sand planet, where everything was crap and rough. When he left that behind he never looked back, he left his mother there and never returned, he's turned his back on where he came from. This shows us the general mindset that motivates him into becoming darth vader. He despises the poor, chaotic, lawlessness of the universe because it reminds him of his past. He wants order, he wants to install order. This is the same reason that the visuals for the empire show sleek steel and interchangeable shiny footsoldiers. However, Anakin has been having dreams about his mother, and she is on his mind, this is why he mentions the sand, he doesn't want to go back, he said he'd return and save her but instead he fell in love with the glory and beauty of the republic, he's basically like Alladin trying to forget he's actually a baseborn thief, he's running away from his past.
@@DutchDread i absolutely love how you phrased all of that, that's amazing, and i never saw how his connection to the lawlessness of the galaxy drives him to enforce order.
@@DutchDread Not to mention that Anakin being awkward with Padme is part of a bigger trend of their relationship being quite awkward and cringey, showing it being less about "Padme being into Anakin" and more about "Padme and Anakin keep being thrown together into extreme situations." This "unnatural" angle to their relationship is what culminates in Padme's murder.
@@DutchDread There is also the theory that Anakin Force mind tricked the shit out of Padme simply by desiring her, because him being so strong with the Force he probably did in unconsciously.
Mace Windu: "Count Dooku was a Jedi. He couldn't assassinate anyone, it's not in his character." All of galactic history leading up to that point: "Hold my beer."
Jeah he was great, but I'd put him in TPM in the jedi council. (I think revealing him as the separatist leader later on, would have had a bigger impact like this)
I think Count Dooku is kinda boring as just being a Villian who does evil things I would make him more like an Anti Hero someone that's not completely bad and I would of played more into Count Dooku being Qui Gon's master and Count Dooku and Obi Wan being more friendly
Would be fun if when Maul faces off against Obi-Wan again he says something like: "The first time we fought we were both appremtices, now we are masters, competing for the very same apprentice..."
The plot? Anakin and Padme fall in forbidden love and search for his mother as Obi Wan hunts down an assassin during the corruption of the Republic and the beginning of Palpatine's engineered civil war.
One of the biggest flaws of the prequels was resetting who the non-Sidious villain was every movie. Maul, Dooku, Grevous. If you had one last through all three films, say Dooku for example, it would have been much more poignant when Anakin finally finished him off on ROTS.
The problem with Grievous is that he's supposed to be this terrifying Jedi killer but ROTS does little to establish this. I think the original CW show did a better job of that, but how many people saw that? Plus that show isn't canon.
See, I completely disagree there. It just showed Sidious was a manipulator and had multiple pawns, and didn't care about any of them on his quest to power. Plus, I think all three of the characters were awesome. Anakin killing Dooku didn't need to be poignant. All it did was set precedent for Anakin to defy the Jedi Code and to take orders from Palpatine. The poignancy was where Anakin enabled Palpatine to kill Windu, who we were already very familiar with. Personally, I don't think this hurt the story any and simply added to the grand Star Wars universe.
AotC and RotS do a decent job at least with the villains, the problem is the TPM is so disconnected from everything else, Maul is never mentioned again.
@Jayfrost There was a 2D animated series broadcast between Episodes II and III called Clone Wars, not The Clone Wars, but it was canceled in the middle of its first season and decanonized in favor of the 3D The Clone Wars show when that was announced.
I'm 9 minutes in and all I can think about is you have created actual drama and stakes by keeping Maul alive. Imagine a packed cinema knowing they would face off again. Maul killing Shmi as well sets up an epic hate filled duel in Episode III.
Its not only epic but it adds more weight to anakin's decision to kill Maul at the end. Dooku was a good villian, but had little personal connection to anakin (in the context of the movies). This version of Maul however gives Anakin someone he has alot of personal baggage with. If he kills this maul it would be out of personal revenge taking him further into the darkside. I wouldn't be surprised if Anakin killed this maul without Palpatine telling him to dew it, but any restraint Anakin demonstrates would show alot of personal growth on his part, albeit temporary.
I think there's a point to going through different villains - it shows just how precarious the place of a Sith apprentice is, how disposable they are to their master. It also allows Palpatine to remain the focus villain, something that otherwise, due to him largely operating "behind the curtain", would be easily upstaged by having Maul (or any other villain) out in the spotlight for all three films. Especially if, as you suggest here, it's Maul who tempts Anakin rather than Palpatine. By having a disposable roster of villains, Palpatine and his influence is just that much more memorable and evident to audiences. Besides, Maul is interesting as the discarded apprentice and half-mad survivor operating on his own plans that we get in TCW/Rebels, but as a continuing Sith apprentice and knowing pawn he doesn't have much draw for me. I don't have any complaints about him being switched out for Space Saruman.
I liked Attack of the Clones just the way it is, but this was still an interesting take on what the movie could’ve been if a different direction was taken.
I have been saying for more than a decade: Remove Grievous, insert Darth Maul. Why? Cyborg Maul becomes the droid army general and leader, the constant three film villain for the heroes to fight against. A popular villain who people actually wanted to see, Grievous was and is not popular to this day, being loved by a minutia of the fandom. Imagine. Obi Wan battles Maul in all three movies, finally taking him out for good in Revenge of the Sith. I would have had him killed in Episode III if he was used as I said. No further Clone Wars or Rebels storylines, no Black Sun stuff. That is only possible if he doesn't partake in the Clone Wars as a active participant.
Honestly anakin and padme having a terminator like threat story while falling in love works much better then how the two actually fell for each other. Also the story with maul and anakin is perfect, my only nostalgic issue with this is we do lose Count Dooku and maybe General Grivious too in episode 3 since Maul is the main arcing villain. While Maul is great i still love the presence those two characters have and represent as a piece of what Vader would become.
I really appreciate this. Your prospective was interesting and a similar one to mine. Although I would have mostly replaced Dooku with Maul, having him die in 3 just as Dooku did. There woulda been a bit more mystery behind just who Mauls master was.
That was a great story, but honestly to pull that off I believe that the Clone Wars Trilogy will need to be extended because though all that brilliantly fits you can't dismiss the importance of Count Dooku involvement within the story. He is also the perfect antagonist and honestly was the perfect fit to best Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker at the same time because he was The Padawan of Yoda and was highly regarded as one of the best lightsaber duelist of the order at one point. One could also argue that Darth Maul and Obi-Wan Kenobi were equally on the same level and sadly Darth Maul had reached his Peak in power at that time and was never going to be any more powerful than he was in The Phantom Menace so you needed a character like Count Dooku to Trump Darth Maul as the main antagonist to really make it work. As much as I love Darth Maul.... His presence would never warrant Master Yoda's at all!
Got a couple of points for you. 1. Dooku can still exist as he is and do what he does, but he could fill a mastermind role in terms of plot structure, being more of a powerful antagonist who's busy doing other things most of the time. Either that, or he could serve as a strong antagonist to Obi-Wan, with Dooku being Qui-Gon's own master and a former Jedi to boot combining with Dooku's genuine desire to bring about the Galactic Empire to rectify the corrupt and stagnant Republic versus Obi-Wan's own dedication to the Republic and hope for a better future without requiring something like the Empire. In this way, he still maintains his abilities and his role that made him so important to Palpatine's plans while giving him either a more meaty relationship with the characters or putting him in a more appropriate screen role to make way for Maul. 2. The idea seems to be that Maul still has room to develop as a fighter and possibly character as well, but more importantly he takes a front-seat role due to his relationship with the characters. His role in Palpatine's grand plans, along with the proposed Outer Rim slave backstory and the circumstances his defeat on Naboo, gives other characters personal investments: Obi-Wan wants to avenge Qui-Gon and/or prevent Maul from murdering more people, Padme's life is under threat so naturally she wants to survive Maul, and Anakin has that personal connection to Maul due to their similar origin stories.
I liked ATOC then, and I still like it now almost 20 years later for the action, the intrigue, the world building, FX, and 2nd to none sound design. It did so much to push the overall story, but is maligned for the wooden acting and poor dialogue in the romance scenes. Maul was always intended to be a blunt instrument. it's right in his name. Dooku, not Maul, should have been the suprise villain in Phantom Menace, because it would show how inept the Jedi were at keeping their flock, at being aloof to the plight of the outer rim, and at detecting the darkside rising from within. Dooku was supposed to be respectable; one who could rally the Separatists like Lee and the Rebels. Again, the actor's name reveals what Lucas was thinking. Maul, born a slave, isn't at that level in the eyes of Guilds that run the Separatist.
I really like doku but maul is way more badass I mean they really should have brought him back for attack of the clones or at least added him I also think that he should have disappeared at the end of the movie for his clone wars story They should have introduced grievous in Attack of the clones too
I agree. Have Dooku be on the verge of leaving the Jedi in TPM, leave after Qui-gon's funeral, reappear either at the end of AotC or in the beginning of the Clone Wars, Maul either dies at the end of the Clone Wars or dies after while Obi-wan is watching over Luke (everything in this video happens), Dooku dies either at the beginning of RotS or halfway through it, Grievous is introduced at some point in the Clone Wars and dies around the same time in RotS, and then everything else plays out how it does in the original version.
I forgot if this was legends of cannon but in one of the books it says that Dooku had Grievous ready for deployment on Geonosis but Dooku didn't want Grievous to be discovered yet. So in Attack of the clones they could of at least shown Grievous with Dooku and Palpatine at the end
İn the comics; maul could've *potentially* create an alternate universe where both Dooku & Maul rebel against the sidious; openly expose his ''actual'' identity and easily dethrone him; and leave his pathetic self for the jedi hounds... This; itself; would be a perfect movie
Christopher Lee's charisma and acting skill is what truly makes Dooku in the movies. Not saying that's a bad thing, but if he'd been played by someone else I'm not sure how beloved Dooku would be right now... In other words, it was the actor who really made the character here, not the writing or his place in the story. At least in terms of the movie, he does get further explored in TCW.
If it would have been Anakin and Padme on them run from bounty hunters, much like in the beginning of the movie with Zam and Jango, the love story would have been a lot more interesting
Or they could've been written better. The scenes in Revenge of the Sith where Padme tells Anakin she's pregnant and where Anakin has the nightmare of her and the baby dying are good.
I love this version of the story! I’m late to the party, but there is one thing I would like to add to your version of Maul. I think that in either fight between Maul and Kenobi, Maul gets maimed, and gets brought back as Sidious’s half machine apprentice. Taking over the roll of general Grievous and foreshadowing Darth Vader
@@goldfishprime People will debate whether the clones even needed to be humanised or whether they needed to be depicted the way they were. For example, the Clone War being a war between the Jedi and actual clones would have been cool.
Devonte Huntley The only way to flesh out the actual scope of the war and everyone feelings and reaction to certain stuff is with a show, and the show delt with many other i teresting concepts to
Well done. I’ve long said Darth Maul should overtake the parts of Count Duku and General Grievous. Having so many “villains” felt disjointed. I think your plot changes with maintaining Darth Maul as the main villain was very fluid.
I mean this version spot on but you gotta add Dooku somewhere down the line as a spokesperson for the Separatists otherwise the Republic just built an army to fight a literal invisible force. Now, aside from that who wants to help me kidnap a scientist from Area 51 so they can build a time machine and we can make Thor work for Lucas during the Prequel era?
There's a serious difference between killing Palpatine in an office on Coruscant, with the Jedi Temple in visual distance and who knows what else on Coruscant to back him up, along with Palpatine's own charisma and popularity, versus killing Dooku on board an enemy capital ship in the middle of a pitched space battle.
I think palpatine influence over anakin is the dark force behind the plot of the whole movie! This is complex movie that is multi layered and preps well for episode 3. It hits its accomplishments
IV is about a farmboy who heads out into the bigger world seeking adventure and guidance. V is about that now young man getting the training but not the wisdom to fight a bigger battle. VI is about the now man who has to confront his worse fears in order to throw away the sword and choose love over winning. I is about a kid who likes podracing II is about sand III is about a podracing, sand-hating man who had the Low-ground.
Yeah, the main criticism I have with this movie is there is no action scene to be interested in the Naboo story tension wise. Lucas could have had it where there was this aerial drone that secretly followed Anakin and Padme to Naboo by Jango to try and execute them by sneaking on them, then Anakin spots it then they jump in a boat and get chased by it at high speed across the Naboo waters. That would be exciting and could have been a 10 minute chase scene that would have added something exciting to the Naboo storyline and would give us a reason to buy the love story as Anakin would actually be trying to protect Padme. This action scene woul also give Ben Burtt another moment to shine with his amazing sound design skills, as well as some soundtrack during the chase. At the end of the chase, Anakin finallly manages to destroy the intelligent drone but leaves the couple hanging off one of the Naboo waterfalls, leaving Anakin jumping to safety back to the edge, while force pulling Padme up as she begins to fall down the waterfall. Instead it's just an excruciatingly boring part of the movie. But the rest of the movie besides Naboo I like. In my opinion, what the prequels were really missing was a film set completely during The Clone Wars between episodes 2 and 3, beginning right where episode 2 left off and ending right where episode 3 begins. Yes, that means Revenge Of The Sith would be episode 4, making the prequels a quadrilogy. I know the animated film and series has bridged the gap but that had to be done because there was a gap to bridge in the first place. In this third film, we would then get to know the other Jedi knights more and explore the character of the individual clones during the war, and General Grievous, making his death and Order 66 more impactful. Lucas should have done this: Episode 1: The Phantom Menace Episode 2: Rise Of The Clones Episode 3: Republic At War Episode 4: Revenge Of The Sith. Making Return Of The Jedi Episode 7.
I personally love these stories. Really reminds me of the Infinities comics, essentially a "What If...?" for Star Wars. I always wished they would have done more series and done stories involving the prequels, so I really dig some of the vibe I get from this video and the other concerning Episode I. I do have to agree with what some other people are posting. Maul doesn't seem to be that prime figurehead for the Separatists. I feel like Dooku could have fit in Episode I in a very small minor roll, possibly linking him speaking out against the Jedi, and then we find years later, he has indeed left the Order and is working for Sidious. He could be the perfect figurehead for rallying systems to the Separatist cause, speaking out of how he believes the Senate is using the Jedi for their own personally glory, and driving a fear that the Jedi will be these enforcers for them. Maul could still be out there, doing the exact same thing in the videos here, only working with Dooku. It is then in Episode III where Palpatine tells Anakin to kill Dooku, the horror comes over Dooku as he realizes he was nothing more than a puppet for Palpatine to control and has much as he wanted, never achieved the glory and power of being a Sith Lord, unlike Maul who has been with Sidious for longer, and has achieved that rank. Just spitballing, but yeah, keep this up! I'd love to see more, especially how all this would affect the Clone Wars series.
I like this. It's really well thought out. I also wish Anakin would've been slightly older in TPM. I just have a few issues, chiefly it's that in my opinion, the Jedi's loyalty to the Republic over the galaxy as a whole was instrumental to the Order being used as pawns during The Clone Wars and their eventual downfall. And Anakin's faith in the “order" brought by the Republic is also key to his fate as Darth Vader. Also I can't see Maul being the public face of the Separatists. Maybe if they did something like in TCW where he was the shadow head of Mandalore I could see it, but Dooku was a respected public figure and which makes it more likely to see him as the leader of the Confederacy.
Wow man this fan fiction was really good I got lost in the story and to an extent prefer your version for its less messy approach, very well thought out 👍
The lack of character connective threads between TPM and AOTC is my biggest issue with the prequels. Keeping Maul alive would give Obi Wan a great arc and give the audience automatic investment in the story.
I absolutely love your take on the Maul/Obi-Wan/Luke dynamic. This would have given so much more context for character decisions made, and would allow for more character depth to be explored. Thor Skywalker - are you the one whom the prophecy foretold?!? One who would rise to defeat bad storytelling and finally bring balance back to Star Wars?!?
All these prequel videos got me thinking. It would be cool if we did a Let’s Talk Some Star Wars video about what introduced you to Star Wars. I think the variety of answers would be neat.
I don't understand Maul's appeal. I think introducing Dooku earlier in EpI on the Council with Mace and Yoda for the scene with Qui Gon and Obi Wan on Coruscant would have improved his being in episode II as we would have some backstory going in. If Lucas had also focused more on the problems the Republic caused in the Outer Rim in Ep I too to preview the CIS crises. I feel Dooku held far more potential than Maul ever did in terms of story potential...Lucas just didn't do anything with him in the films.
I personally very much like the way that Thor set up Mauls Character for this. And yes, to have Dooku on the council and be the main figurehead of the separatists whilst maul is doing mostly what Thor has described would work fantastically.
So many even have yet to realize that Maul may technically still be alive!) Like Vader in Empire or Kenobi after Hope, whether stuck in darkness or forever connected to the light the comeback is always beautiful!-)+
The greatest Star Wars saga never made. Disney should hire you as a Script Doctor or Script Consultant. Every analysis you've done regarding Star Wars films has been spot on.
Ever since I saw AOTC for the first time I thought Dooku should have been in Episode 1. Not necessarily as a prominent character but as another jedi. Obviously the character wasn't made until after The Phantom Menace but I think it would have made his arc much more interesting. Like having him at Qui-Gon's funeral would have been great setup.
According to The Clone Wars Darth Maul is still on Lotho Minor during Attack of the Clones going into madness before Savage Opress arrives to take him home to his biological mother called Talzin on Dathomir.
Truly awesome, kept me in the edge of seat the whole time. I go so sucked into the story, you had to bring back with "how it play out in the actual movie". I could learn to love star wars again if we passionate writers like you doing the episodic movies. The last jedi hurt me so bad, i still have not recovered, even with the return of palpatine.
now you're going to have to do like maybe a five parts of this video but you're going to have to explain the Clone Wars you going to have to explain how Anakin and Padme starts to fall in love even more like Atticus trying to stay more towards the Jedi path but now he's conflicted with both the light and dark side so then Anakin goes to Mace Windu and Master Yoda about the thought of how to balance the light and dark mainly to Mace Windu how did he master vaapad and throughout the Clone Wars Mace Windu and Obi Wan are both Mentor in the young Skywalker from their Anakin becomes a beast of a Jedi throughout the Clone Wars and then from there he still develops the feelings for Padme and of course you don't have to make like like I said I 5 part for a we can explain all the crazy events that happened in the Clone Wars or jump straight into Revenge of the Sith
Dude, that was AWESOME! I so wish we could've gotten something of this nature instead of EP. 2 though what you said about hindsight is true. However, idk if that's an excuse for George when he absolutely crushed it with The Clone Wars, we all know every prequel script was rushed or unfinished when they began filming them. To my understanding, ROtS was the best planned out film of them all and look how well that turned out by comparison. If only Lucas had taken his time.
It's a decent alternative story but if you remove dooku and his purpose (as plotted by Sidious), you lose the whole SyfoDyas plotline (clones creation) and the way he apparently leads the separatists movement. Honestly I think the adventure they go on to uncover the assassin and how it opens up all the other discoveries whole building the world in this movie was extremely well written. The only cringeworthy thing is the love story and its execution. Proper horrible that is. Imo... aotc is pretty damn good when you remove that aspect
I always figured Nute Gunray wanted Padme dead because of the events of Phantom Menace, and also specifically Padme because she’s much easier to assassinate than a Jedi who can sense that type of thing
During my last marathon of Star Wars movies, I realized that Padme's being anti-military doesn't make complete sense, considering that the _lack_ of a military that could act as a deterrent to potential threats had led the Federation to blockade Naboo with no real fear of repercussions.
I think it would be better if Grievous was introduced in episode two. He kinda just pops out of nowhere in episode three just like Dooku did in episode two. His lightsaber collection could be explained by all the dead Jedi on Geonosis (maybe from Jedi he killed or from robbing bodies). He could be Maul's apprentice who knows that Maul has been seeking another apprentice( one younger and far more powerful); and he collects lightsabers to prove himself to Maul. Perhaps have him in the final duel with Maul, Anakin, and Obi. But this version he would not have his cybernetics yet, instead he is wounded during the fight and gains them later in his quest to prove himself. Letting Maul have an apprentice early on would make a red herring for the Jedi to believe that Maul is the master and not the apprentice of the Sith. I look forward to your video on episode three.
@wespozo dont get me wrong, I love them how they are but I also understand where they fall short. Count dooku was put into place with no well explained motive. Keeping a solid villain and bringing us more Maul would have been great.
This episode is incredible. It then makes Anakins turn and it makes more sense. It also makes Vader’s turn back to the light with Luke and it shows that you can save the ones you love on the light side. Beautifully written. Please continue on with the expanded version and episode 3.
Personally, rather than preserving Maul as the primary antagonist in AotC, Dooku should have been established, at least to the AUDIENCE, as more of an active threat in TPM. Maul was framed from the start as a blunt object. Dooku as the power behind the scenes (at least until Palpatine is stripped of his cloak of respectability), Grievious as his field marshal, and Maul as his main enforcer is how it was set up from the start, they just didn't flesh things out as well as they should have.
I really enjoy the idea of Darth Maul being in the spot Count Dooku is in! Although I did enjoy doku as the villain for Attack of the Clones. I feel like he could be introduced either at the end of this movie or the beginning of the next one maybe in a different kind of way, however it does make more sense to have Darth Maul as the main villain. Since he has history with both Obi-Wan Kenobi as well as Padme.
I agree! Well, if it were me, I'd probably take the bits of Anakin and Padme instead of original ones as they are pretty good, leave the sand people part as it is, and leave everything else as it is too.
the hate on this movie is ridiculous. we got the combat scene between obi wan and jango, the chase on coruscant and the battle of geonosis and epic lightsaber duels. empire strikes back is good but i don’t consider it a masterpiece compared to attack of the clones
You're only pointing out action scenes as your positives of AOTC which is apt given the problems people have with it are story, script, pacing and acting.
Bjørn Halfhand i personally dont have a problem with the acting, hayden christensen is a solid actor and what about the pacing was bad for you? the movie is taking its time but it gets never stale
This was great! Out of all of the movies, this one sorely needed better character building moments! I interested in hearing your version of ROTS even though I really like that one but the one I really would want to hear the most is ROTJ.
Empire Strikes Back worked better as well due to it being a direct sequel. Attack of the Clones had a massive gap, where the setting, characters, and conflict were very different. It was jarring. Obi'wan was a different type of character, Anakin was a different type of charater, Padme was a different type of character, even Jar Jar was a different type of character. Makes it hard to do a movie without a focused plot, as your audience is trying to play catch up with what is going on in the universe. We have separatists now? Big change. Empire was still the Empire. The rebels had logically relocated from Yavin 4, nothing jarring about that transition at all.
I consider this video to be a sequel to your "fixing" characters of the Phantom Menace because that was one of the better fan fictions, alongside bandsincorporated's video trilogy of how to fix the prequels . I would like a part 2 to this before you tackle episode 3
For sure Maul should’ve been the guy in Ep2. Even Ep3 if I’m being honest. I do like how they revived his character in the Clone Wars show and ended it in Rebels, but Dooku wasn’t that cool and Maul was built to be a Jedi killer. Definitely should’ve had more silver screen time.
I was leery when I first heard they were bringing Maul back, it's always tricky bringing characters back from the dead, but his story in TCW was fantastic and he got such a fitting end in Rebels. His story is one of the best in Star Wars now... when initially he was just "that cool looking Sith that Obi-Wan kills at the end of The Phantom Menace."
Thor Skywalker agreed. And your version of ep2 is fantastic. Would’ve loved for all of it to go down like this. Do Ep3 soon, even though I liked almost all of that movie. Having Maul in there would’ve made it that much better.
Never been a dooku fan so I totally like the idea of maul being the reoccurring villain in the prequels. The idea you presented is pretty interesting and would have loved to see it but I’m happy with what we got with maul in clone wars, comics, and rebels. Easily now one of the most fleshed out characters shame it was after his big screen appearance.
What is this obsession with Darth Maul? It really misses the entire point and arc of the six movies. That being it's ultimately Anakin's story from his rise and fall to his redemption through his son who becomes the hero he aspired to be but never did. Making the PT some kind of Maul vs Anakin is bending the story to give this great looking character some relevance beyond what his actual story function is. This is like saying Tarkin should have survived A New Hope and he could have been plotting against both Sidious and Vader to take control of the Empire. Might as well have had Boba Fett and Jabba working with Tarkin. As Anakin was to Empire (as Vader) he is here as a young Jedi. In Empire he reveals to Luke that he is Anakin while in Clones he reveals his feelings towards Padme. Both time he is rejected but later both also come back to him. The problem with all this Maul obsessing and wanting him to be the "Vader" of the prequels entirely misses the point. If Maul was that powerful then Sidious would have no great need of Anakin because Maul would be becoming everything he needed. If Sidious had a sure thing like Maul his coveting of Anakin wouldn't work near as well nor be as believable. To work Anakin for 13 years made sense because Maul failed and an older Dooku was not as attractive as a prospect as Anakin.
The point of the six films is the rise and fall of The Empire. And the prequels would of been a lot better if Lucas has focused on that, instead of trying to turn them into Anakins story.
@@drahcir8402 Star Wars is about Anakin's fall and redemption through Luke. George Lucas said something in the vein of my statement. The 6 films not Disney cause who knows?
@@mosesdouglas4325 And Lucas completely missed the point and delivered mediocre prequels. He did not really showed why Anakin turned to the dark side. You need the clone wars series to understand. Thor's take on the story is much more subtle and relevant.
@@vlad78th as much as I love TCW series, I feel that with this storyline, much of it wouldn't be necessary. They could still have the umbara arc, and the ahsoka arc, but they would probably have to remove the mandalore arc, at least the second one. The obiwan bounty Hunter arc and the first season basically could stay the same as well. But a lot of it would be irrelevant or have to be remade.
