Awesome video. Living in Houston, we get frequent torrential storms and many street flooding as a result. Nice to see you guys test the Cybertruck in high waist deep water. Can’t wait to get the Cybertruck. As a general rule, if you can’t see the curb then turn around. Many many people have lost their lives driving into high water.
@@Samuel-7418 i have been in a model 3 that decided to go through a puddle and the water almost reached the windw level but nothing leaked in. It was during the storm in sacromento and lot of floods were happening and I know for a fact that a gas sedan would never do that.
Huge tip from a somewhat experienced driver here, when going through a puddle, you wanna drive as slowly and as carefully as possible, that way things don't break, and water doesn't get in places that it's not meant to reach.
Huge tip is never ever drive in high water. It’s bad for every single vehicle. Making it across, is the same as surviving a massive dose of radiation - you will definitely have problems later. 😂😂😂
But its part of manufacturer's spec though. The mode says it all : "Wade Mode". Cybertruck has been built to traverse through deep water. It should be ok
claims are nearly always different to actual capabilities 😅, already after the test he is having electrical malfunctions. One thing about water, is that often water gets in places you do not want it too , and sometimes that water takes days or even weeks to seep into other areas which cause many problems later. I might add , drivingfast through water is more or less like high pressurehosing everynook and cranny exposed to water and splash , and that can be a disaster.@@rova3308
it could technically drive trough a chemical bomb attack or somethng like that, because there is a mode where the inside gets pressurized so nothing from the outside gets in
@@gareth6326 all newer Tesla's have the mode. the air that is let in is filtered through a special HEPA filter which scrubs the air from stuff you don't want. By the way the mode is called "bio defense mode" XD
@@The1QwertySky I am not saying they don't say they have a bio defence mode. I am saying I wouldn't trust it given the past claims of Elon that are not true
I would be more concerned about all that water that's now sitting in his subframe with no way of draining. There is a reason these things have been bricking from just from being washed.
Looks like at 6:50 it popped a warning saying lowering suspension due to current speed. I assume the wade mode isn't meant for over 25 mph considering he went nearly 30 mph it probably lowered the suspension in the water which maybe caused it getting more damage that was seen later (maybe deactivated the wade mode?).
The rust that everyone is talking about is caused by iron particles that are all over due to brake disk wear from all the vehicles on the road along with iron particles kicked out by train wheels. You don't notice it on painted vehicles, and it is easily removed using various cleaners. It's just particulate iron sitting on the surface of the SS body panels, it is NOT the actual SS that is rusting. Tesla Bear FUD that makes for great negative/clickbait articles/youtube vids about Cybertruck.
@@_Mutineer No, no its not........ But let me guess you're heavily invested in the $TSLA pump but forgot to dump (Bagholding). No the rust is caused by shit metal plating, not to mention all the water draining into the subframe from all the @*#& seals around the frunk.
yeah, Tesla's have no battery box protecting their battery's from water so that Tesla's dead from battery rust eventually. can't wait to see that video in a few years.🤣🤣🤣
@@BH4x0r so does not say keeps the water out which also applies to the other Tesla's so why would the cyber trucks battery be any different against water then the cars for getting wet and rusting out? hmmm
@@BH4x0r bs there are videos of it on RU-vid of tesla drivers driving through large puddles so do not say they do not do it and then years later they bitch and moan because they need a new battery pack because it rusted out and does not work anymore so I do not Believe Tesla says it's water proof because they haven't made a car water proof yet and yet they simply say drive through fast and it will be fine because it will be fine for Tesla's bottom line in the end plain and simple
Incredible, It reminds me the James bond movie with Roger Moore and the beautiful submarine-car Lotus Espirit! Excellent video. thank you. Greetings from Argentine.
He may have the best job for taxes. Since anything he uses for a RU-vid video (his primary form on income) can be written off as a work expense. This truck? Company truck. Home office? Company office. iPhone? Work phone. The US tax code would then exempt income used to purchase those from taxation. So if he made $100K, but spent $50K on stuff in his videos, then he only pays taxes on the other $50K. This is significant as the US has a progressive tax structure. For exmaple, $100K might be taxed at 20%. And $50K might be taxed at 10%. By writing off $50K, he only has to pay 10% of the other half, which would be $5K. Juxtapose that with 20% of $100K. You see now how he is able to purchase whatever he wants and save a lot of money.
Drove a BMW 535 series with water over hood plashing against windshield. Died on me turning into a parking lot. We had water chest high coming in the windows of car. Got home after a short time of drying out and opened car up to let everything dry with household cleaner poured all over the interior carpets. Nice to see someone testing the limits of this ELECTRIC vehicle. ^5 guy's nice job! Can't wait for my order for the Cyber Truck to fill!
First and second puddle are possible for some stock offroad cars of the market… but the last one!!!! cameraman never dies even with a Cibertuck wave in a lake!
Awesome test for us to see, thank you very much for you exploring that and fulfilling my curiosity of driving through water. Hope tesla fixes your issue for free.
There is boat mode too but you have to get optional water proof doors. You should use the money from this video and install them and drive across the Mississippi River.
I feel like the "boat" would be better choosing the speed rather than the human; it could monitor the bow wave and keep it optimal... Maybe start Wade-mode by specifying the destination on the front camera view or map, then FSD controls steering to overcome sideways flow too...
I would not recommend anyone doing this with their vehicle, cybertruck or not. Water gets in to places very easily. The places it shouldn't. I watched this laughing at the continuous utterances of the word "bro", & knowing that, regardless of whether the vehicle made it across, it will suffer from the damaging effects of water ingress in the months/years ahead. Corrosion & rust, bro. Corrosion & rust. Unseen(!) corrosion & rust. You had better hope not in sensitive/functionally important areas.
@@ngqabuthodube2068 What's even more madness is a $100k+ truck and the accelerator pedal can get lodged down. Probably one of the worst & most dangerous vehicle design oversights I have ever seen.
From the first time I saw the cybertruck I thought with a few modifications, this would make an excellent military vehicle. Would be great for quiet reconnaissance and personal transport in rear areas. Being electric would mean fewer logistical problems with fuel.
