When I saw the viv goal I tried to figure out an explanation for how she had so much space, unsure if you were going to choose this game to cover. I hope our panicked attacking against defensive teams gets better, I notice it every game they play now.

I watched the game before I went to look for your analysis. Believe it or not, having watching your videos before helped me to notice the patterns of the game. Arsenal not knowing what to do with the ball once they'd gotten close to the Liverpool box in the first 45 being the most prominent example. AND I'd also thought that Lotte Wubben Moy was a real stand out and was very impressed with her. Since I've only been a fan of women's football/soccer since the World Cup this summer, I very much consider myself a newbie. So I was super proud I'd noticed TWO THINGS that ended up in your analysis, haha :).

It wasn't the most exciting weekend you're right, it was between this game, Chelsea vs Brighton, or a player profile analysis on Leah Williamson since she's back.
if mayra starts versus everton, it'd be interesting if you analyze that game to see how chelsea shift tactics/formation with mayra as the nine! tbh any look on chelsea's recent hijinks (everything going on with lj, sjoeke's cameos as the nine when it wasn't very long ago she was CB, the weirdness going on at the back, the very strong erin-melanie midfield that came about very suddenly but seems to be sticking, and of course the constant goalie rotation...so much fluctuation!!) would be fun! @@ShadowFootballYT
Thank you! I think KCC would help, but I think Foord and Mead are more finishers than creators, and a lot of their play breaks down in the wide channels too.
@@ShadowFootballYT i agree that foord definitely is more of a finisher. Played as a 9 quite a bit over the years. She suits the inverted winger role really well given her trademark cut-ins & finesse shots (24 goals 16 assists last 4 seasons). Mead on the other hand has always been a hybrid creator/finisher (24 goals 25 assists last 4 seasons). I remember her being particularly effective as a creator during the 2021-2022 season - throughballs, crosses from either side, final balls within and around the penalty box. She had the highest assists in the league that season. Hope to see eidevall experiment with different combinations of attacking players and positional setups. There's plenty of interchangeability now with russo and lacasse in the mix. As much as it is a headache for him to pick a front 3/4/5 every game, it is a much bigger headache for the opposing team.
@@CatGPT_ Seems to me that Mead has taken more of a finisher type role with England in 2022 and 2023, but she is very capable of that creative spark too you're right. I reckon Lacasse needs to be given a start on the left side as well.
i was wondering if you could look outside the WSL for some analysis - like Paris FC and their tactics to shock Wolfsburg and Arsenal or how Lyon and Barcelona stay so dominant and shore so much even against the best teams
I really want to, but the main reason holding me back for Champions League games is the issue of copyright, I don't know how strict DAZN is with their content but I'll look into it. I also need to do a tonne of research on CL teams since I'm not an expert on them, but that'll come with time since I research them anyways in my free time haha. I do want to do a Barcelona one though
We are a possesion based team thtough always have been i dont think changing will affect how many we score and we have alot of players that are good on the ball and playing counter attacking football every game we are wasting that
Your point about Jonas building a counter-attacking team, and that they don't know what to do with the ball when they have it for long was EXTREMELY painful and frustrating to watch in their disappointing loss against West Ham!! I genuinely believe that Arsenal possesses some lethal weapons in their arsenal (pun intended, haha), but I don't trust Jonas to maximize their potential anymore. To me, Arsenal won't win the league this season, we've lost way too many times to make that happen, unless there is a miracle.. Also, i appreciate how objective your analysis is, kinda hard to listen to people who are salty about Arsenal even if they have a point lol. Looking forward to your next video!
That's the phrase I'm looking for, "maximize their potential." I had a feeling Eidevall's insistence on possession based football will cost them at some point and I think that game against West Ham was it. I don't think he fully knows what to do with arguably the most talented group of players in the league which is really frustrating. Thanks for watching!

Been putting off watching this but finally bit the bullet. Glad it wasn’t as harsh as I was expecting 😂 Thanks for picking up on the lack of striker for Liverpool on the pitch. Absolutely baffled plenty of us fans. I understand Beard wanting to get the ball up the pitch, past defence and chased down, but it would’ve been better to have had Lawley and VDS on the wings doing that with SRH able to collect from them and take the shots. And if it’s not working, like passing from the back against Man City wasn’t, then change it the tactics, which he’s too slow in doing. Hopefully we can’t hold onto 5th, praying to get 4th 🤞🏼
The attacking trio of VDS, Lawley and SRH would have made more sense. I also think dropping either Hobinger or Missy Bo Kearns was a mistake since Hobinger is a very good transitional player from defence to attack and MBK's work rate is immense
@@ShadowFootballYT Yeah. MBK not getting many starts this season has been a weird one, especially since, as you say, her work rate is immense. And if she isn’t scoring, she’s providing the assists. We did okay against Tottenham but I just love to see that team we had against Brighton or United again
@@kezarus1 I think 3 at the back suits Liverpool more, and no one else plays like them in the league. I think Beard needs to double down on the 3 back since he does have the players that suit that system

Loved this! I too am interested to see who drops for Williamson. I suspect it will be Ilestedt, Wubben-Moy has been more consistent in my opinion but we will see I suppose. Would love to hear you analysis on the 4-4 Benfica Barcelona match but I know DAZN can be quite frustrating with their copyright claims...
I suspect it'll be Ilestedt too, but we'll see haha. Yeah I thought about making a video on that game but like you said, not sure about copyright claims from DAZN. But in short, I think Barcelona overload their attack where they leave just 2 CBs back, and previously, other teams have rushed their chances whenever they get one against Barcelona. Benfica were good with their patience, kept the ball in the Barcelona half, and committed numbers forward and took their chances well.
@@ShadowFootballYT I agree with you. Patient is definitely the right word to use, that assist to the Jessica Silva goal was beautiful, I have been very impressed by Benfica. I will be interested to see if/how Barcelona bound back given how overloaded their schedule is this month. Cheers!
@@Person-zx9rb I think Barcelona will do fine, they have insane squad depth, except at centre back in my opinion. I think other teams just need to be a bit braver when they play against Barcelona because even if teams sit back, Barcelona will still find a way through.
