Newton isolated himself for 18 months in the 1660's. He had partially developed his theory of gravity and made calculus during this time. He never fully worked it out (and I think even lost interest) until he saw the comet in 1680. When he saw it, he fully worked his theory out and made it into the Principia a few years later. Just saying that to clear it up that the comet is NOT the sole thing that gave Newton the entire idea of gravity. He came up with the idea within the depths of his mind.
Good video. Philochrony is the theory that describes the nature of time and demonstrates its existence. Time is magnitive: objective, Imperceptible and measurable.
@@ninjapirate123 Wow, 14 years. It depends on what the word "alive" means considering being subjected to gravitational forces for so long. Thank you for asking! Stay safe and well!
There are many experiments(phenomena) that depend on gravity and therefore can be used to demonstrate gravity; one of them is simply jumping up and down. However to explain gravity one must develop the necessary concepts; e.g. force and laws governing motion.
@rautry05 That's not necessarily it. Yes, we all KNEW that we were pretty much glued to the Earth, but Isaac was the first to really wonder what kept us here and what its properties were.
1:57 But while Isaac sat under the tree, an falling from the other side of the tree hit him square in the cheek nearly bruising him. He knew then that the apple going sideways proved his comet observation.
The folklore of such great men... Like the Leaning tower of Pisa and The Lead Shot... Newton's Apple is a beloved anecdote for lay people to recite about a great event in science. But the comet story seems to ground Newton into historical fact.
Can you explain - he himself said he was inspired to search out what made the apple fall. Are we just to write that off as a lie? Seems perfectly reasonable to me.
He may have named it but when you create something that means it doesn't exist when you name something that means it was already in existence and you gave it a name
@basketballakev may be we can say that he discovered gravity to europeans and english... but surely not for the first time to this world....but also may be he gave a defintion of gravity to the western world...
According to Newton's biographers, the apple story is false. The apple story was made up by Voltaire. Why did Voltaire make up such a stupid story? No frickin idea...
He also get the idea from.....He saw an Apple falling down from the tree and then looked up to the sky and saw the moon and wonder why the moon stayed there when everything’s falls down
Newton didn't discover gravity he mathematically proved the that gravity is a force inversely proportional to the distance squared between two bodies. He also invented the mathematics that enabled him to prove this fact from his three laws of motion. Kepler studied observations Tycho Brahe made and concluded that a planet's movement about the sun could be described if one assumes that its motion is elliptical. From this he also derived his laws which are valid under certain restrictions.
The gravity was recognized by the apple falling down from the tree and will be completely understand with the tree outside down but that does not fall because is hang from the roots. The rout of the tree 're outside the universe view, the origin or the base of gravity is outside the universe perpendicular with our universe which keep the galaxies, stars, planets and everything that is in the universe to be hanged floating look like from this power of gravity"
hey the Kalak Alak.....sir Issac Newton did not invent gravity he discovered it which means gravity was there on earth, he just found out that. inventing means making something
Pick up the nearest light object. Now drop it. Gravity! Now, pick that object back up. There's the issue. Nothing out of the ordinary? Let see. There is an entire *planet* pulling that object downwards, yet you picked that object up no problem. This is the same force that is keeping our Moon in place, keeping the planets orbiting our Sun, and binding all other known objects in the Universe. Yet you can beat it in an arm wrestle.
Wrong !! He made the discovery right out of school between 1664 and 1666 while studing the Bible and preparing for the end of time in 1666. He later decided 2064 as the end of time. Read his books.
@rautry05 yeah, no, i wouldn't, i don't think you really would, you are just having fun with me no? We are alright for our discussion you and I. I love the civil people of youtube. thank you
@rautry05 actually you are also misconstruing the definition of discover, yes as a matter of fact you can discover something other people have already known about. if you or your group don't know about it, then when you find it you can discover it.,discover- to see, get knowledge of, learn of, find, or find out; gain sight or knowledge of
@rautry05 "floating" intellectually, yes, physically, no. Discovery, in this context is more akin to "defining" rather than "utilizing." The earth revolved around the sun before Copernicus defined the orbits of the solar system. The Americas existed prior to the explorers "discovering" them. Or, in other words Newton discovered gravity, he did not "invent" it.
Newton discovered that apple fall on earth because in gravitation theory both the bodies revolve around their common centre of gravity as apple is small so centre of gravity lies inside the earth but for moon it is between moon and earth so moon not falls to earth but apple fall similaly there are many day to day concepts like needle sinks in water but ship does not this is by archimedes principle physics is ❤❤❤lovely
actually newton did not discover gravity.. because simply to say even before his birth 1000s of years ago they were big or small structures( ex : pyramid) build on our earth.. and without the knowledge of gravity no one would have ever designed these buildings or structures.. so it is insane to say that gravity was discovered by newton ..humans knew this gravity long long long time before he discoverd it.....
Do the earth really have gravity or centrifugal forces???? I believe gravity had never exist at all.....But what force that exist is actually Centrifugal forces caused by the rotation of the earth.......
🤫 1680? 😂 A bit earlier. But I wanted to put dual nature of gravity into numbers. Or ability to be changed by object having invariant abilities of entity, besides speeds, towards gravity. Sun reacts on it better than planets, like any star.
First of all you don't know whether it was a comment or pieces of the Sun the sun goes down at a certain time of the day and wherever the common come from behind us behind the sun when it disintegrate before it got this far just asking a question and it stay visible for how long till you just stare at it, it was just stared at it, usually move around okay
@TalesOfWar I heard a story about that guy, but i don't think he discovered anything, lol. now that I think of it Copernicus is a better choice for the son of a supreme being, no?
Society has named everything that came in contact with like when it went over there in the Indians was already on that land but Christopher Columbus discovered it but it's already Indians over there
He discovered it through geometry. Optics was based in geometry, Planetary motion was geometry (described by kepler) and alchemy was based on geometry. His calculus is just a mathematical representation of the geometry.
Yes, because he could not have measured the relationship of the mass of the object and its movement to the ground accurately enough to discover a relationship between the two. However, the sun provided a clear and observable change to the path of the comet.
I read a study about him. He could slap himself without slapping himself. Try it. Slap yourself without slapping yourself. So TRY IT. felt it????? Me TOO. use this it is like oxygen The physical force of your body Without moving
