FYI, "drip irrigation" is not performed by dripping water on the open. That will waste the water through evaporation. The "drips" are actually done with underground hoses that has nanoscale pores placed under the plants root system. My father who went in the early to mid 80's told me how certain areas in jerusalem that are now huge tourist destinations were nothing more than wasteland when he first visited. It's hard to even believe that in 1948 tel aviv was just a desert and now its a pretty big city.

They need to make more innovations to desalination. Currently the brine that’s too hard to extract water from is just dumped in the sea. It’s not really a problem now but it can have negative impacts on the food supply (fishing) for Israel.

It’s the exception and not the routine unfortunately. Having a couple of years of good rainfalls doesn’t mean you solve the problem. Consuming water with care is the way to go for now unfortunately until hopefully a permanent solution can be found.

commifornia will never do it because of 3 reasons: 1. they have insane climate policies which will block actions such as sanitation 2. the state is filled with woke city folks who get their water by taking it from farmers and others who need it 3. there is not a real need for it (at least for the rulers which if you remember, California is a one party state, it won't have a change in leadership and definitely not in ideas)

Israel is amazing they have done all this while being surrounded by Arabs whose only mission in life is to destroy them. Just imagine what the Arabs with all their money all their land could achieve if they would only follow the example Israel has shown. That goes for all the other countries too, especially where I'm from, Australia.

What can I say.. Our countries used to be great friends, and extremely effective trade partners. If not for your leaderships current policies, there would not be even a single reason not to deepen and enhance this cooperation and friendship.. And I hope that G-d willing this tide will change quickly someday, hopefully - soon. We're pretty much have. to be great allies in this troubled region. Israel actually dedicates a certain percentage of the water to revive or to clean streams, small lakes and so on...

Israel has a plan to use the desalinated water to refill the Sea of Galilee and to build another tunnel from the sea to refill the Dead Sea (which is evaporating away.)

@@innosam123 Right The dead sea water level is dropping drastically and salinity is increasing. Sea side towns have been abandoned as sink holes appear.

Idk it's just something in our culture that we love failed attempts so we can do better next time. And eventually it leads to these inovations.
