Hello again, I haven't been uploading recently. Just wanted to share some updates on the Gaggia Classic Pro after 2 years of shelving it. I have been using my Rocket Machine daily, mainly because of its size and how much better power and faster I can make coffee every day.
However, the Gaggia, on the other hand, did not disappoint at all after all these years. I managed to fire it up right away, wiped off some dust, and the machine works just like it was modded yesterday.

What is the rough temp drop from boiler to group head? I was watching your PID video and really want to go that route after I get used to my machine, but I'm a little confused what function in the PID controller can account for the temp diff or offset. Also wondering if their are any differences in the North American models for the voltage/amperage I'd need to account for when buying the PID components. I'm jealous of your latte art. Mine is terrible, but I know I can get better with time and practice.

I would say 5-8 degrees but I can be wrong. I think there might be a video of someone testing the actual grouphead temperature of the Gaggia. PID is the most efficient mod one can get from a Gaggia. It almost gives the machine a different characteristic. I think in terms of voltage you'll have to be aware of the 110V and 230V options. In terms of amperes, I think it won't matter much. I'm no electrical tech guy so I might be wrong. Maybe someone here can help 😅

Lance Hedrick estimated an 8 degree temp drop from boiler to grouphead. So you should set 104 for a 96 extraction temp at the head.

SET>0089>PSb for my delonghi it's -11 as for gcp, as was already mentioned above, 8 degrees is a good start and no, you'd better use the inbuilt functionality and set the correct offset rather than continiously substract numbers in your head))
