How Did She Drowned? Scuba Diving River Looking for Clues Where She Died! 

My dad used to tell us not to swim in the river, because of whirlpools that could suck you in. We never swam in the river and this story makes me think he was right! Be careful!!

My family appreciates you sacrificing time out of you're day to give it a look and see if you could spot bones. I think you're 100% spot on about how her body was probably washed out into the mouthe of that river. It also would line up with why she was probably never found. I Googled that area you searched and typed in 1970's drawing involving a small girl. Didn't come across anything. Probably happened though

You can be sure that when the water is flowing at the confluence of three waterways, this would have to be a treacherous place to be in the water. Since the 70s, that area has had some major floods. This past March they had record floods on rivers all across Kentucky.

That poor little girl could be under 50yrs of sand silt and rock, if that ledge you were looking under 50yrs ago was a big deep cave that she got wedged in and over the decades she has been buried, or she was washed away and no one looked for her down river it's very sad, least you gave it a good go Jeremy and found some good finds. I wonder Jeremy, would it be possible that during high river levels, for the confluence of both rivers to dredge out a lot of silt etc and just be refilled gradually at lower river levels? Maybe the little girl's remains could be buried. It seems that the earlier divers had difficulty finding the bottom of that hole....or as you said, she was likely flushed miles down river and if retrieved was unfortunately listed as a Jane Doe. Sad on all counts and remains a mystery. I applaud your efforts and tenacity. Keep up the good work. Cheers from Australia.

A lot of silt could settle into the hole during the quieter times in relation to water flow thereby hiding anything in the hole. A sad story and often repeated. The "Key" Bottle opener is a Key for Electrical Switchboard Cabinets. The grooves in the Projectiles serve two purposes; One: Hold Lube for the passage of the projectile through the bore (Barrel) when fired thereby aiding accuracy and two: In muzzle loaded Firearms, to scrape out some of the powder fouling. Love ya work so keep on doing what you do.

There's a possibility that the cave or tunnel or the bottom of the river has changed since the seventies like the guy said the river was a lot higher than it is now which means it would have gouged deeper when it was at full strength now it looks like it's filling in the hole

Hey, Jeremy. This key (11:57) is shaped like (what I would translate as) an "antiq barrel tap key". BUT this one looks brand new... So it might be related to some kind of faucet still in use. That would explain the bottle opener part.

This is my home town, I still live here! Wow, you was in the green river at the old iron bridge. Those bullets you found was possibly from the civil war, that whole area out there had a big battle. So sad about the girl but awesome you was right here in our little town. I think everbody in town has been down there at one time or another to swim or whatever. That river gets wild an high all the time, especially when they let the water out at the spillway. No tellin where that baby ended up, so sad. Love watching your videos

Great job, love your videos and what you do. The “key thing” is actually a key for opening and locking electrical cabinets on equipment. Why they have a bottle opener on them , no one seems to know. We have numerous cabinets that use that type of key through out our cannery.

Just a added thought..I’m about 145lbs, flipped off a tube in a Colorado river and went flying down stream pretty fast and honestly for a very strong athletic woman, I could not grab onto anything under water and yes it was deep and rapid flipping by limbs like I was nothing but underneath the entire time until I was able to slam against bigger boulders and a foot got caught underneath in a space between the huge rocks, then I was able to use everything I had to climb up but kept my foot lodged and my other leg still being flopped around like it wasn’t attached! Huge cuts but I got up and out of the river..my point is this is from 1970 & if I was a bigger person and dragged far down stream underneath the river, I’d guarantee this poor baby was taken away too but wasn’t strong enough to get up on her own so she could possibly be underneath 50yrs of sludge hon. It’s so heartbreaking to realize what she must have went through! I was terrified & even said my last prayers thinking I just met my demise! Thank you for searching Jeremy!

Jeremy, Thanks for at least trying. If she drown in fast flowing high flood waters her body could have been taken way down the river and buried under debris; then throw in 50 yrs of silt on top. My guess would be that if any of her bones would ever be found it would be by pure luck. I lived next to a river and if there was a really heavy rain it would raise anywhere from 5-8-10 feet or more. It was even known to flood out onto the surrounding land so anything could easily we washed away and go down river.

How long has she been missing and what state is this in?

Where exactly is this, and when was it? I know you said Campbellsville, but it surely isn't in the middle of town. It looks like you've got the Tebb's Bend bridge in the shot, but there isn't really two rivers there, unless you are counting two branches of the Green as being two rivers. I moved to the area in 1977, and I don't remember hearing the story. I'm guessing it must have been before that. I was in the next county over, but tragic stories like that tended to be spread far and wide. I can tell you that I remember a couple of popular swimming holes in Russell Creek that aren't there anymore. Logging projects in the area caused current to change and the hole to silt up, and there just isn't a hole there anymore. It could be the same with this one. One of those, in a creek not ten feet wide, was deep enough I never found the bottom. Green River Lake was built somewhere in that timeframe as well. It was already built when we came down looking for land in 1976, but it was recent enough that there were still trees with green leaves standing 20 feet out from shore. That changed a lot of the hydrology of the region. If you are at Tebb's Bend, you are just down from the dam, and that would have really changed the currents there. They probably don't get the level of high water there that they had before the dam was built, and that would cause it to silt up. There are many, many caves in that area, and it would not be at all surprising if there was a deep hole there. Also, when the waters are up, bodies can be carried a long way. In the 1907 flood in Gradyville, the bodies were found a very long way away, and I want to say it might have been in Tennessee.

At the locations to make people aware of the dangers to be aware of and to use caution ⚠️ and be safe. And you can get with each of the county’s that you were at so they can make the signs up to post . And possibley save some lives in the future. ! The key I'm positive goes to an industrial electrical breaker cabinet. We have those keys and cabinets by the dozens where I work.

Such sad story, but I mean someone had to know who this girl was, this guy saying he heard the story and there must have been other people who heard about it and I mean there had to be family looking for her, she can’t just be an unknown girl that came from nowhere.
