I went scuba diving in the river and found a stolen bag that was over 20 years old. The police contacted the owner to get the story behind it.

That is the clearest river water I’ve ever seen in one of these dive videos. This has to be fun for you. I wish people would stop treating our waterways like a garbage dump. It would nice to see completely pristine water. I guess it’s cleaner because of all the rocks on the bottom.

it seems like most of the time water is murky and cloudy cause of bogs. here in MN there is no such thing as somewhat clear river or lake water. If you put goggles on and go under everything will be a reddish brown getting darker the further down until you can't see. It's all that carbon in bog stained water the particles are so fine it doesn't' settle. That's why Red Lake is called Red Lake cause the sun can make the bog stained water appear red in the right conditions. Its like this with every body of water that has watershed from a wetland.

A lot of of rivers are murky by nature, here in the UK we have a lot of peat in my rivers so they're almost jet black when you look at them. It's rare to have crystal water like this

He wasn't trying to solve this specific case, it was just random luck. The police are already underfunded, overworked, and understaffed. This could have literally been thrown anywhere - without credible information they have no way of knowing WHERE to look. Why do you expect them to solve cases without any information? They aren't mind readers or psychics. The diver in fact states he didn't solve anything. Police have to follow the evidence/information they have without it exactly what do you expect them to do? How much man power should they waste chasing a stolen bag (a minor crime) when there's no info to go on when they're investigating comparatively big crimes like burglaries, violent crimes, deaths, etc. Imagine a person who's been assaulted or killed; they or loved ones want answers - an arrest. Do you honestly think the officer is supposed to say I'm sorry I haven't made much progress yet, I'm still searching for this missing bag from 5, 10, 15, 20 years ago? Check out @Adventures With Purpose, they’re scuba divers who use boats and sonar trying to help solve cold cases where a person went missing with their vehicle. I think they've solved over 24-25 cases thus far. Their channel gives you a better idea of the process involved in actually solving cases.

There is channel of divers who reacted to AWP. Apparently, their ways are viewed as somewhat unsafe. That just makes what they do so much more touching. They literally risk their lives on some of these dives.

The word swastika comes from the Sanskrit svastika, which means “good fortune” or “well-being." The motif (a hooked cross) appears to have first been used in Eurasia, as early as 7000 years ago, perhaps representing the movement of the sun through the sky. I had to Google because I couldn't remember how long it has been used but the rest I remembered from a essay I did for school years ago.

When I was a kid in the early 1950's, I was a "junk prowler". I loved playing with old stuff we found dumped over roadsides and open land. People would just dump their unwanted old household goods rather than make the effort to take them to the official Dump and pay a dollar or so. Those sewing machines were VERY common - at one time from the 1890's to the 1940's almost every middleclass house had one. With the introduction of the inexpensive and far easier to use electric machines the treadle operated ones were worthless. Another common item (really fun) was the tall art deco style wrought iron floor lamps. They made great "swords" and we had some great sword fights when we found them. Truly a better time to be a kid.

@@mortussempertyrannis1393 Definitely not. I'm not certain that's a singer, but it is definitely a vibrating shuttle machine. If it was a singer it's most likely a K27 or K28 which were made between 1890 and 1918. They take pin shaped bobbins which fit into bullet shaped shuttles instead of the round kind we use now. They are extremely common and worth barely anything in working order - although the value has finally gone up a little recently for good ones.

The sewing machine looks like what's left of a Singer Model 27. They're from the early 1900s. They had what was called a vibrating shuttle. You can get one in pretty good shape for $50-$100 depending on condition around here. I think that one is too far gone to rehabilitate, but then again, treadle machine collectors will go to great lengths. I think it's probably worth more as scrap metal. Nice find, though.

I would suggest, in regard to the sewing machine, if it is a Singer sewing machine, that you contact a retailer that still deals with Singer parts and equipment. They may be able to tell you more information about the model you found and when it was made. I know there is a place in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania called Sunbury Sewing Center that still deals with Singer machines. You should be able to find them easily via Google. Back in the late 1960s, Singer had a slogan that went, "What's new for tomorrow is at Singer today." Maybe it should be changed to "What's new for tomorrow is found in the river today."

I hope someone returns the bag I lost with precious possessions inside 20 years later, only about 8 years to go!! Look forward to that bottle of J.D and pack of doritos. Do miss my special sock, too.

The water was so clear!! Beautiful! That gigantic thing you found was it all wooden? Could it be part of the old bridge? Regardless of what it is, it’s a relic! 😂

You state that you are at a new bridge site. Is this also a different river than you usually go to? The water is so much cleaner! As always, I really enjoy your videos.

It's probably already been suggested before but maybe there's a RU-vidr who does restorations you could team up with? A lot of them try to pass off fake stuff as real restorations so to have one do the stuff you give them, real, proven stuff, that would be really refreshing to see man!

It's easy enough to clean it. Just put it in a bucket and fill the bucket with white vinegar until it's just covering the whole thing, leave it a week, and check it. It'll rust fast once you take it out, but that's an easy way of cleaning up rusted metal. There's probably more to treating rusted metal than I'm saying here, but that's step 1.

Dude should have his P38 to cut cans with. I'm talking about the find. P38s can cut sheet metal easily.

You should take the sewing machine to a youtuber who restores things! I have seen a bunch of people on yt restore computers and old tech! (If you do can you tell us who you sent it to? I would love to see the process of it being restored if even possible)
