My personal theory: As the Armorer explicitly states, Din Djarin feels the Darksaber is heavy because he is "fighting against it". While this may have to do with Din being conflicted, I think it has more to do with his fighting style. We've seen three people use the Darksaber in combat: Mof Gideon, Din Djarin, and Paz Vizsla. Mof Gideon did not appear to perceive the Darksaber as particularly heavy and his fighting style is more fluid, if less skilled, than Din's. While we did not see Bo Katan wield the Darksaber, we have seen her fight and her fighting style is much more fluid than Din's, while Paz Vizsla would appear to perceive himself as even more "tanky" than Din and as Allen said, it looks like Paz can barely lift the Darksaber. I think Din's journey to wield the Darksaber will dovetail nicely with Din learning to master his new N-1 starfighter and we'll see his fighting style evolve into something more fluid.

T to hat is because those you mentioned. All knew what they wanted, how they where going to get it. Including, Sabine and Maul. The former had to over come her personal demons and open herself. She made a connection with the blade. It’s less about style, prowess, and strength and more about directing a current of energy. Din has a destiny to fulfill. And if he wants to master that blade he needs to pursue that destiny with all he’s got. Lest he face the same fate as all others unworthy of it’s power.

Don't forget in both the Clone Wars tv show and rebels we get Maul and Sabine Wren respectively wield the Sabre as well. Maul being a force wielder already had experience wield such a blade. Rebels tackled this very issue. Kanan told Sabine that conflicts of her mind relate to conflicts in wielding the blade. He told her that a lightsaber is a dangerous weapon in the hands of the untrained. Here are some of the physics of lightsabers: 1. lightsaber blades are not weightless they are made of plasma, plasma is a state of matter, matter has mass. 2. Lightsaber blades are not static, the plasma is in motion from the emitter out to its calculated shape and back to the collection ring. Essentially it is a plasma chainsaw constantly in motion at an extreme rate of speed. It is this mass in motion that generates gyroscopic effects very different from a normal or even vibroblade. 3. In addition to the unnatural gyroscopic effect in hand there is also the explosive knockback generated when the lightsaber is actively cutting an object, flash-vaporizing matter in contact with the blade, unskilled wielders will actually bounce the blade rather than follow through for clean cuts. 4. further complicating things is the intense magnetic field used to shape and contain the lightsaber blade, making it difficult to maintain in contact with another blade or resistant/shielded items. Is it can skip, skitter, or even kickback like a chainsaw blade pressed against a steel plate.

I disagree on it being a Plasma blade. The nature of Kyber is Amplification and Storage of Energy. I'd think of an electric nature of the blade. Kyber, when energized, produces light/energy bursts. I think it's very similar to Laser circuitry (but it's not), only to an extent when the "Laser" beam becomes visible (due to immense power of Diatium power cell), focused by lenses and indeed produces small (!) amounts of plasma held in magnetic field. Thus it's a Lightsaber.

Gyroscopic force is indeed the right term as far as I understand it: the source of that phantom pull is the plasma rotating up and down the length of the blade, and that rotating mass creates a force that makes the blade feel like it's moving on it's own. Kind of like a very light, very high RPM chainsaw.

kanan explained this in rebels if I remember right, he said that the darksaber was not like a normal lightsaber, and rather than pointing a weapon, you're directing a current of energy that feeds on the wielders thoughts and feelings, so it makes sense that Mando is struggling. Great video Allen

I like theory that the armourer was originally part deathwatch and joined Maul when he took out Pre Vizsla (hence the horns) and how she knows so much about Bo Katan and he struggles with the dark sabre before leaving to create her own sect

Another important thing about lightsabers and lightsaber crystals is they do NOT use an optical model and lenses, It is more like the quartz crystals in a radio, "TUNING" the arc of plasma making up the blade to a specific Wavelength (thickness), Amplitude (length), and Frequency (color/pitch) defining its stable shape. A single crystal establishes ls a FIXED shape. Dual crystal arrays allow alteration to EITHER length or thickness. Triple crystal arrays allow alteration of BOTH.
@bk8541
@bk8541 2 года назад
you're wrong again. Lenses were exposed in the game Force unleashed. And it's also stated on Wookiepedia :)
@johannesbowers7467
@johannesbowers7467 2 года назад
@@bk8541 wrong yourself. Force Unleashed is non-canon, and even in the canon novel where Luke opens and inspects a lightsaber, it uses a tuning array of multiple crystals, not an optical one like a telescooe.
@bk8541

@@johannesbowers7467 multiple Focusing (!) crystals - it's optics duh! And Lightning is not Plasma - it's not a corrcet thesis. Lightning are electrons - which ionize air - produce some plasma to carry those electrons.

We know kyber crystals can tune to things, so what I think is happening is that Din is in a midlife crisis like crossroads in his life and the saber crystal is reacting to it. He is not fighting the saber, he is fighting himself down to the very foundation of who he is. When he finally chooses his path, and finds his purpose, he will master both the saber and himself.
@aedwardsss

Luke favors his father’s fighting style. That would be interesting since Djim So is often considered a dangerous art, close to the Dark Side. This would offset some of the weight issues because the center of gravity is more in line with the weight.

I think that Kyber Crystals are concentrated Midichlorians that have gathered over the centuries, which would explain the sentient abilities of the crystals. The connection being created are the force wielder Midichlorians joining or accepting the Midichlorians which are the crystal. Only when your midichlorains and the crystal midichlorian work and understand each other are you joined with the Kyber crystal.

This is really cool for the lore of why Anakins original light saver is able to be used by Rey and Finn in TFA. It’s the lightsaber being in sync with them, or at least their intentions at the time.

Treat the dark saber as a Rapier which is a hilt-heavy fighting style. it can also be a cutting blade as well.
@bk8541
@bk8541 2 года назад
Whether or not it's a Plasma blade is still to be determined. The Kyber Crystal, when energized, produces some sort of Photonic pulses. When those pass through a set of focusing lenses, creates some Laser resemblance in nature, but it's not. Small amounts of plasma are indeed being created and held in place by magnetic stabilizing field. But the nature of the blade is different. Thus it's a Lightsaber.
